    Daycare

Horrible experience. I was waiting to write a review on what a disgusting and horrible this "child care" is. My daughter was enrolled for a week. In a week my daughter came home with a black eye, I walked in on the teachers when they were trying to place an eye in her eye and the director wasn't going to make me aware of this incident. My child also came home with what appeared to be pinch marks in her arms. My daughter is one year old and the day care said they would send me photos of her during the time there. They didn't. I only received maybe one photo of her and no updates. The staff was rude and always rolled their eyes at me when we asked questions. There was no clear direction on what or where to drop off our child. When I told the team about the treatment they didn't care. They additionally charged me $850 for her to just be there for 1 week?!?!?! I spoke with Andrea Sornbern, the district director and she was of course, rude and didn't want to really speak to me. When I initially took her call she basically said "what do you want?" And didn't allow me to express my concerns with her "facility". She didn't honor me a refund for the remanding time. I did not Take my daughter back even though we were paying for the last 2 weeks. Lastly, Andrea said they would refund me the $150 registration fee on or about May 26th in 2 weeks. It's june 22 and i still have yet not received that check. I was told I signed the handbook, I didn't ! See the photo. So when I told Andrea all said said "it's our policy" not if it's not signed?! See Andreas email. It states 2 weeks. It's almost a whole month of the $150 refund. My daughter got sick here and when I told them to not give her mac and cheese the director, Sarah came up to me and said ok let's diet since we can give her cheese, very aggressive and then told me that they can just "stuff the cheese packet in the cubbie". Lastly, one of her teachers asked me if she was an only child bc she didn't want to interact with other kids. How will she if she was just there for a week ? Do not take your kid here. My daughter came home depressed!

We found a new daycare. We made this decision based on the following: 1. When we first brought him they told us to bring his favorite blanket for nap time. When I picked him up after nap time the first day, he was still on his cot with a different blanket. They never gave him his blanket. Weird. 2. He got hand mouth and foot twice since starting two months ago. The first time we were notified by e-mail; we were told he could still come which contradicted my husbands doctors orders to be away from work for at least a week. The second time he was apparently exposed during the week. We went on family vacation Saturday. He got spots Monday & thought he was just in the sun too much. When we returned the following Thursday we found out from his teacher that he was exposed with no notification through the week. His spots were already scabbed by this point so he was able to return. We then found out he spread it to his cousin 3. He was provided with his own diaper cream. We were told different creams were being used on him. This is gross. He also has eczema- this was listed on his paperwork. We are so unhappy about this unsanitary practice and disregard for his skin sensitivity. 4. We were told he could be given one medication per day, I think. So we brought calamine lotion one day so that he could be sprayed if he was itching mosquito bites that he had. He was sprayed as if it was bug spray and we were informed that he was "sprayed before he went outside" and I could see white all over him. This was ridiculous after I had a full discussion of it being itch cream. 5. His main teacher and favorite assistant quit within a couple weeks of each other. I never was introduced to who his new teacher was. There was once specific lady in his room who was there, then after he went again she stated she didn't think she had met him yet when she had. We felt he was warming up finally and then there were all new people, it's just unfortunate. Concerns were expressed to directors. I like the three directors a lot but these concerns were too much to continue having him in this care. We are paying for two more weeks that we are not using, as well as a new daycare. We understood the cancellation policy but we are not leaving because we wanted to or some other reason- we actually were sad and scared about his safety and care. There should be accommodations if reasons like this happen because that bill is not a small one. We have no choice to take PTO during this lapse time due to just moving here, I have not yet built PTO up and my husband cannot take off from the fire academy. If we knew this we may have not taken the vacation I mentioned. He came home with scratches that looked like fingernails. Which is fine, we understand kids have little "fights" but we actually would like to be notified because it was a lot. If he fell, we would have also liked to be notified. I attached a picture because there were more than just a couple small scratches. We decided it would be his last day yesterday because of the continued concerns after we saw his arm. Our son is 2.5 and we depend on adults to communicate with us to use the words he cannot say yet.

Really need to teach the bus drivers to slow down after several times of seeing this I have to review . Speeding through school zone's that is dangerous not following the rules and in a hurry when they need to have better time management. And still speeding this time caught a picture of bus

I'm not sure how many people can write a review that can say they have had 4 different children go…read moreto the same preschool, but we have! All 4 of our kids have gone to Little Sunbeams or are currently going. We started there with our oldest at 2, back in 2019 and he went all 3 years, until kindergarten. Our kids are all 2 years apart and we started them the month they turned 2 and were able to start going. Currently, my oldest is 8 and in 3rd grade and both him and my 1st grader are already in the advanced programs at school. Kindergarten teachers were amazed with how much they knew. My daughter is 5 and finishing up her last year at LSB before moving onto kindergarten. She knows how to write her full name and is currently working on site words. My youngest is 3 and has been at LSB for a year and loves it. The best part for me as a mom, is that it is a place where I feel comfortable sending my kids. I know they will be taken care of and loved. It is just a huge plus that they learn so much, and have the opportunity to explore and be creative everyday. Little Sunbeams also has an app, so they give updates there as needed and post pictures everyday- which is also another favorite of mine. The school is affordable and also offers flexible schedules, which we have often taken advantage of. Mrs Miriam is truly an angel. She is the owner and has shaped Little Sunbeams into what it is today. I am always so surprised with how hands on she is to this day with the kids. They love her. Ms Ivis is wonderful as well. If you call or walk in, she will most likely be the person to greet you. She is so welcoming and has answers to all of the questions. She has been such a great addition to the team. Ms Veronica is one of the teachers and has had 3 of my 4 kids. She is one of their besties but knows how to keep order of a classroom so that both learning and fun can be had. Ms Sara is the Spanish and Atelier teacher and she has had all 4 of my kids! She teaches them so much and has incredible patience with them as they are learning. I really can't say enough about this school. If you are on the fence, go check it out for yourself. We are going on our 8th year here and still love it. We will be sad when we have no more preschool aged kids and have to say goodbye.

It is very difficult to find quality childcare in today's day and age without compromising either; 1. The level of care provided by staff, 2. The standard of education/curriculum, or 3. A fair price -- LSB excels in all three areas. Every time I send her there, I can feel confident that she is safe, well taken care of, and learning the concepts required to prepare her for Kindergarten.

I gave a 2 star because the Director at least heard me out and took care of some of my concerns at our abrupt departure due to my poor child being traumatized by the preschool teacher. I just don't know why she is working with kids. i witnessed how she treated them and it was with very little patience, nurturing, compassion or empathy. she would rarely smile and was very cold not just to my child but also with the parent encounters . I wonder what was going on with this woman? maybe something personal but why take it out small children? She treats this little ones like they are attending boot camp requiring the children to put their hands on their head for an extended amount of time. forget about her helping your child if they don't yet know how to put there shoes on or have an accident. she will leave them crying and practically butt naked, this was a complete nightmare. They even left the front unattended and all doors unlocked that was a total fail for me. my child was here for less than a month and we ran out of there. the sad part is there probably lots of parents who have no clue what a monster this woman was. Oh and don't count on reaching cooperate I was given the run around and no one ever called me back. There is virtually no way of reaching anyone above the site director. please do your HW parents look for a better preschool as there is one literally down the road from this place that would never treat children this way. like I said the site director was kind and tried to resolve but this women " Hanna " if still there should no be allowed around children. she is a toxic adult and may even cause harm if she is able to continue to work with children in the way she chooses. very sad and stressful experience. period.

At first, I was a little nervous about the bi-lingual curriculum (I don't speak Spanish), but it has been great. They emphasize independence, self-control and curiosity. Most importantly, they model the behavior they want the children to learn. Manners, respect, and care! The teachers are excellent, personable and patient. The care that they put into the curriculum is outstanding. Each activity is arranged with thought and purpose. My daughter is encouraged every day to pursue what she wants to learn, and persist until she has mastered a skill. She does art, Kindermusik, yoga, and works with physical materials that are preparing her for reading, writing, and math. She is also learning to master practical skills like buttons, lacing, washing, and pretty much everything! She also plays outside. I also want to mention the emphasis on health here. The snacks are healthy, and they expect you to pack a healthy lunch for your child or use the meal service. But also they teach the kids table manners, food preparation, and how to approach eating as a "meal" activity that is bonding rather than just a "break". I know I already said it, but I really love this place! They really try to engage the parents in what they are trying to accomplish, and want to really know your child so they can best guide and teach them. This place is a gem!!

I'd like to add that if you have had a different experience with this school and the five year old classroom than what my son and I had to endure, that is great. I would never want any child to be treated maliciously, so if you are a lucky parent and she was nice to your children, I am genuinely happy for you. I am speaking from my own experience with this teacher, and my experience was and is still valid. She is lucky I am being vague about what my child had to experience with her as a teacher. I as a parent am writing this review out of genuine concern for every child that enters this school's well being. Beware of biased reviews from friends of teachers at this school who do not have the children's best interest at heart, and instead are leaving reviews to help their friend's egos.

It's saddening to see a review that talks illy about the 5's teacher. I hope that if you read that review, then you also read this one as well. Great Beginnings has been nothing but a pleasure to be apart of. Day in and day out, I know that the people in that place are filled with light and God's glory. Their intent is to raise up a child in the ways they should go, "Proverbs 22:6. Train up a child in the way he should go;". There has NEVER been a moment where I did not trust or depend on a GB teacher to guide my children accordingly. Specifically, Ms. Mandy has prepared 2/3 of my kids for pre-k and has done nothing but a wonderful job. She has challenged them, loved on them, and prepared them to know what to expect in Kindergarten. (And I'm not sure if you know what the education system is like nowadays but it's ROUGH). Realizing that there are moments where she needed to be tough to ensure that my child would be successful was apart of my job as the PARENT. I knew for a fact that she had no ill intent. She is HIGHLY qualified for the job, as both of my boys are gifted in Math. Let me echo this again, She knows what she is doing. I have recommended countless families to GB and will continue to do so. Pleasing everyone in this world is impossible. But, I can vouch and say that GB is one of the best places you can bring your child if you're looking for curriculum that is filled with the truths of God and love of Jesus, teachers who know what they are doing and enjoy it, and a place that you can trust.
