    I recently attended a cocktail party of sorts at this venue. Prior to being invited, I had no clue…read morethis building housed an event room that could accommodate small to mid sized gatherings. Located on the 5th floor, Loft 5900 offers a kitchen, uplighting, slide shows, restrooms in the hallway, sofas, and cocktail style tables. I assume depending on the type of event you're having, depends on the furniture that's provided. We were going through a bit of a heat wave when this event occurred, so it was hot and humid to the ultimate outside. When we entered into the building it was even hotter. Literally no air was circulating in the building or on the elevator. I was a bit worried that the venue was going to be that warm too, but thankfully it wasn't. Not sure if it's like that normally, but I hope that issue gets addressed because it was truly uncomfortable. The venue itself is a cute and intimate space. It does give you the feel of a loft - hardwood floors and a chic flow, but the entryway is a bit dated and only one elevator was working that evening. It's a pretty cool option for a venue/space for an event. I think it would be perfect for a baby shower, wedding shower, cocktail party or something on a smaller scale. I'll put this on my list for future venue options, hopefully it just won't be during a heat wave.

I was granted access prior, to my event and afterwards for clean up and breakdown. Bathrooms were with stalls and a separate one, if needed. Complete with kitchen capabilities with stove, sink, fridge and microwave. Also included amenities were, microphone, podium, stage, and sound system with surround sound. This location can be used for any event and the owner was more than accommodating and willing to listen to my needs and assist! Only note I can pass is, pay close attention to the address, that block has several "5701". There's an A, B and C and located on main sidewalk. The first door of the building (A), then a tobacco store (B) and then another unit in the parking lot (C).

I…read morecalled the person that I had confirmed my appointment for to let her know I was there on time at 11 am. She advised she was 10 minutes away. So I went up the street to get gas came back within the 10 mins she still was not there. So now it's almost 11:30 I'm reached out again to get an ETA and she says tho the person that was coming to do the walk through (which I thought it was her the owner) she then says they got locked out and cannot get access to the key. I said ok I've sat here almost 30 minutes and if I hadn't reached out to you when were you going to communicate that to me. Mind you she never called me I kept calling her. Long story short I just ended up leaving of which I told her I was going to leave after waiting almost 45 mins of which she still didn't show up within the time frame she indicated. What a lack of communication and customer service.

    I recently threw a baby shower for my friend at the Legacy space…read more Overall: I give 3 stars because of the unprofessionalism of the owners due to bad communication. The owners themselves and the employees weren't on the same page about what was communicated to me. I will say they were never disrespectful. The only reason positive reasons they got 3 stars is the space is decent and the main employee I dealt with (younger and light skinned) made things happen and picked up the pieces after the miscommunications. All in all the event went well but I'm glad the young lady was there to make things happen. Details: There were multiple points of miscommunication or misinformation between owners and it was clear they weren't on the same page. We were literally told one thing from someone then told the total opposite from another employee/owner. Early on the miscommunication was things I could get over or work through. For example, I called on a Thursday to come and get measurements of the space since they weren't on the website. I was told I had to set the appointment a day in advance but not on a Friday thru Sundays. That's strange because the first time I ever saw the venue with the mom to be was on a Saturday. Another time I came by to test my potential layout. I called the day before I wanted to come by but was then told I couldn't come see the space later than 4p on weekdays. The person then offered for me to come see it the next day, a Friday (which I was previously told I couldn't). I didn't rebut and chose a different day. Another example of misinformation/miscommunication was when we first booked, we were told we could move anything in the room around as long as it stayed in the room. Then upon submitting our custom layout through their portal (which was convenient to input information) we received feedback through email that we couldn't move the blue captains chairs that are near the couch as shown on our layout. Looking beyond the pettiness of telling us we couldn't move chairs, we pressed on. Upon arriving the day of the shower, we were told by employee that we never sent our layout so they didn't have tables set up. So that same layout they commented on, you didn't receive? I restrained myself from getting angry and focused on bringing the rest of our decor inside while they set up the room. Luckily I had a printed copy of the layout to provide. And as per usual the young lady who had been there many times before simply put the set up and made it happen. They also disinfected the tables, which I appreciated that. However, it shouldn't have been an issue if the employees and owners were on the same page. The only other thing I didn't care for was how certain items in the room could not be taken out which made it difficult planning the layout. However, we made it work. The space is definitely set up more for meeting space vice a party in my opinion, especially with Covid and needed to space people out. The space was nicely decorated and I was glad they included tables in the rentals. Our event went off that day without any other issues. The young lady also gave us a few extra minutes to clear the room, which I appreciated. The room was pretty hot since it was about 70 degrees outside. We ended up bringing in fans last minute since the air wasn't cooling off the room with the 25 or so people that were in there. If I wasn't on a time crunch to pick a location that was decent looking and decently priced, I would have found a different venue after the first miscommunication I noticed between the owners (that I did not mention). However, we got the basics of what we wanted but it definitely really frustrating at times.
