I came solo and felt perfectly fine. Many people were solo, guys and female. So, it's a cool vibe. Of course there were couples and groups of people that came together. But in the dance community, it's fine to go solo. People are respectful and really respect dancing. I will say, this is the sort of environment where people are taking classes and coming here to practice, along with plenty of instructors dancing. So there's a lot of flair and showmanship. I was thinking, am I at Dancing With The Stars or what, lol!! Lot's and lot's of turns and endless turn patterns. Less musicality. That's what makes it not my style so much, but a lot of fun for others. The classes were about 1 hour each, organized, and gave you a taste of the different styles. The instructors told everyone where they teach so you could take more classes. As with anyplace, some leads are fantastic and easy to follow, and other leads are still learning and practicing how to lead, so it can be bumpy dancing with them. Especially if its a first time dancing together. Other leads were really smooth and easy and fun to follow. There's a full bar selling beer, wine, and mixed drinks. If you bring a water bottle, it must be empty and they will fill it with water for you. Or you can purchase bottled water. I had a pretty good time and danced several songs and learned Salsa on 2. I was so impressed, they had a great turn out and the instructors did a great job teaching the basics, but have classes for all different levels! Definitely will be back to try all their classes. They also have salsa, jazzercise, ballroom, etc too. Make sure to bring cash if you want to come, usually they do not take credit cards. Also they have a bar also only takes cash and usually provides snacks and drinks.

When I got into my room I noticed a odd smell which I eventually found out was coming from the carpet and the bathroom door didn't shut all the way. When I asked the front desk about changing rooms they stated they were booked, but the guy gave me a cleaning spray solution in a bottle for the odor. He apologized saying that the cleaning crew was unavailable but I could use it to make it smell better. It didn't. That should've been my cue to check out but again, I was exhausted. However the choice was made for me because around 9pm as I was getting ready to rest, I saw a bug in my room by the AC so I killed it and went to bed. Not long afterward I felt something under the covers and pinched it. When I lifted the covers the remains of whatever it was smeared the sheets. 10pm I showed the pictures to the front desk and left. What bothers me the most is that I emailed the manager and called several times and no one has gotten back to me. Do not come here unless you want terrible customer service, a smelly humid room and bugs.

Located on the 5th floor, Loft 5900 offers a kitchen, uplighting, slide shows, restrooms in the hallway, sofas, and cocktail style tables. I assume depending on the type of event you're having, depends on the furniture that's provided. We were going through a bit of a heat wave when this event occurred, so it was hot and humid to the ultimate outside. When we entered into the building it was even hotter. Literally no air was circulating in the building or on the elevator. I was a bit worried that the venue was going to be that warm too, but thankfully it wasn't. Not sure if it's like that normally, but I hope that issue gets addressed because it was truly uncomfortable. The venue itself is a cute and intimate space. It does give you the feel of a loft - hardwood floors and a chic flow, but the entryway is a bit dated and only one elevator was working that evening. It's a pretty cool option for a venue/space for an event. I think it would be perfect for a baby shower, wedding shower, cocktail party or something on a smaller scale. I'll put this on my list for future venue options, hopefully it just won't be during a heat wave.
