I hosted an event at Prince Tea House and for the most part it went well. It is a small space, really cute interior with lovely decor. Communication with the events coordinator Austin was good. He presented all of the package options and then sent a video to me depicting the package I chose. In the video, each savory food item was placed on a separate platter, set atop a gold stand with a sign in front, so you knew what everything was. All the desserts were on tea towers. It was simple and elegant. This is a non traditional tea house so it's not tea, cucumber sandwiches, scones, and clotted cream. There are appetizers like fries, buffalo wings, fried cod and shrimp lollipops, spring rolls, different filled wontons, lobster avo sandwiches, etc. There is a vast array of desserts like custards, different flavor cheesecakes & crepe cakes, chocolate lava cake, strawberry shortcake etc. However, the platters were just placed on the table (like a casual house party) and different items were on the same platter like chicken with shrimp with one set of tongs, and all without any signage. So it was a cross contamination concern and it looked tacky. I heard people asking what was what and quickly grabbed a server and pulled her to the side to inquire where the stands were, and why are certain items together on 1 platter. She didn't address the stands, but clarified what each food item was, brought out additional tongs, and then started to utilize the tea towers for the rest of the desserts. Everyone loved the food and the different teas, so I didn't let the food setup snafu ruin the party. Afterward, I received a lot of compliments and some were saying they would like to host their own tea party there. Austin was not available once the food was brought out. I spoke with him the next day to thank him for a mostly seamless event, the usage of the beautiful space, and the concern with the food setup. He apologized and advised the stands are no longer used because a platter slipped off a stand and fell on someone's foot. He said he would speak with the kitchen manager about placing land and sea food items together and the lack of signage. I will return, and I would recommend them for tea service. If you rent the space I would just suggest clarification on the food setup beforehand. read more

Maybe I wrote feminine because we were there on a Tuesday around 2:00 and it was fairly crowded for being so late, and I was the only non female in the place. We came more for lunch (Savory Items) than the tea on this visit. I had the Chicken Kastu sandwich. It was really good, light and came with a nice small salad. My Wife had a very good beef brisket sandwich. We ordered their dessert trio also. This was very refined and similar to quality at A la Mouse or Mango Mango. I've been a long-time fan of Prince Tea House, so I was glad to see another location open outside of Philly. Most of the locations I've been to take reservations, but I decided to stop in spontaneously with some friends on a Sunday night. The first thing I noticed was the size of the inside being much larger than the Philly location. To our luck, the inside wasn't crowded at all. Aside from being much bigger, the ambiance, furniture, and decor was very classy. It felt much fancier than your average dessert spot. A hostess at the front sat us as soon as we walked in. We had come in just after 8PM; she let us know that we'd need to order before 8:30 due to a 9PM closing time on Sunday. Most of my party had an idea of what desserts we wanted to get, so we placed our orders in just a few minutes. Our table had an ad for getting 20% off of your bill for posting dessert photos on social media and tagging the location. Sadly the special isn't valid on weekends, so we weren't able to use it. Service was decent; it wasn't the friendliest I've had, but they were attentive and efficient with service. More importantly, they weren't rude whatsoever; I'd say they hit the mark on a satisfactory experience. Our desserts came out in about 10 minutes. Everything looked incredible. The crepe cakes at Prince Tea House are a long-time favorite of mine; I got the Purple Yam Mille Crepe Cake. This dessert was the perfect balance for what I was craving at the time. I had come after a relatively filling dinner, but I still ALWAYS have room for dessert. Despite looking extremely tall and thick, the crepe layers were relatively light, and the amount of cream in between didn't make them overly heavy. The purple yam flavor and the sweetness of the entire dessert were relatively subtle. It combined the perfect amounts of sweetness, decadence, and creaminess. My friends had also ordered a variety of other desserts. I tried a bite or two of most of them, and I can confidently say that not a single one was bad or even mediocre. The quality showed through in all of them whether the flavor profile was up my alley or not. The Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crepe Cake, Molten Lava Cake, and Coconut Panna Cotta were excellent. Another great option was the Trio Combo Mix and Match, which allows 3 choices from a preset dessert collection. Overall, I'm very happy that this place opened up in the South Jersey area. The one criteria that would really bring it far above anything else in the dessert category would be later hours, at least on Fridays-weekends. The location hours listed online are until 10PM, but they're actually only open till 9PM. The Mango Mango location in the area has been extremely successful since opening due to their later evening hours till 11PM when everything else in the area closes much earlier. If this Prince Tea House location could extend their hours, they would pretty much have no form of competition in the area. read more

The most cozy little spot ideal for a girlfriend brunch. Only down side is that they politely tell you only have an hour of time for your stay before you overstayed your welcome to another paying customer. Desserts were pretty standard but they do give you a decent amount for the price. The food is high quality and also blog-worthy. We got the afternoon tea for three and were easily full with just that order. I visited Prince Tea House a part of a group on Sunday, February 23rd, this was my first visit to the Marlton location and I was looking forward to enjoying an afternoon tea with a group of friends. To my amazement, the staff was inexperienced and very young and it appeared that the venue was not prepared to host a group and also wait on regular clientele at the same time. My friend and I were seated for 30-40 minutes with no one acknowledging our presence, except for multiple carafes of water being brought to the table, not once were we greeted nor were we offered tea or menus. I wrote to the corporate offices for the Prince Tea House, and they did acknowledge my email, however I was instructed to reach out to the manager of the Marlton location (Austin). Austin did acknowledge my email but indicated he had experienced staff on hand and that they were instructed to wait for the entire party to be present prior to taking orders. I reiterated that menus were never offered, and tea was never offered in the interim. It seemed that there was no one in charge and the staff was ineffectual in running the site, perhaps had a manager been on hand to direct them it may have been different. After 40 minutes, no menus, no food or tea I left and after that very poor impression I will never go back. All in all, the response from 'management' was poor at best. read more

This was my first time trying this place. My first impression was it was very cute inside and they had soft elegant music playing in the background to match. The staff was also pleasant for the most part. We went on Monday at around 3pm and I loved the fact that it was practically empty (minus the jerk that came in to pick up his take out order). He came in the dining area and sat right across from us with his legs kicked up on the seat being loud and obnoxious on his phone. There were other areas in the front to wait that they could have directed him too. Be that as it may they didn't, but on to the rest of the experience. I found the menu selection to be very nice. The variety of Tea's and other drinks were very good. Their food and dessert selections were also very good. However initially I wanted to do the whole afternoon tea for two thing with the bells and whistles but here is where being clear on the menu and having top notch customer service come into play. If you do the tea for one, two or more your options aren't really clear. You get to pick one tea flavor with free refills for about an hour and a half. However they bring you out an assortment of sandwiches and desserts that you seemingly do not get to pick. Now no offense to anyone but there are just certain things I do not eat or like and I don't want to pay for trays full of it. So I find it unfortunate that they don't give you a list of tiers you can choose from like pick 2 finger sandwich options out of this list and 2 signature mini desserts off this list and it will come accompanied with mini scones, cream, butter and jam. So because it's not clear and there's also a language barrier we didn't get to experience that which was unfortunate. Instead we ordered the shrimp lollipops (4) and vegetable spring rolls (3) which were both delicious. They were freshly made, light, crunchy and tasty. For our meals we got the fish sandwich. It came on a soft toasted bun with lettuce, and tomato. The fish was flaky, lightly breaded, crispy and really fresh tasting. The only issue there, was they didn't bring any condiments like mayo or tartar sauce so we had to wait for the waitress to come back by to ask for some. The sandwich also came with a small salad. I got the ginger dressing and my husband got the balsamic both very good. For my drink I got the rose milk tea. I asked if I could get it in the form of a potted plant tea but again the language barrier kind of got in the way so things were lost in translation. I then just opted for the rose milk tea hot and it was divine to say the least. It was so velvety and smooth I enjoyed every last drop. My husband got a mango smoothie and he too said it was very clean and refreshing. For dessert he got the banana cheesecake, I got the strawberry short cake and we also ordered the purple yam crepe cake slice. The desserts were impeccable. They weren't overly sweet which was a plus. As for the rest of the service they kept the table clean, the courses came one after the other instead of shoving it all in the table at one time like some places and I overall really enjoyed myself. The meal itself was perfect. We were full but not overly stuffed and the total came to about $85 minus the tip. I took two stars away because service could have been a little better and I'm convinced they can do better by the afternoon tea part of the menu.
