This is my second stay here in 6 months, and once again, hard rock did not disappoint! From the…read morecheck in staff, restaurant servers, and casino dealers and bartenders, all were very friendly and catered to any need I had. In the restaurant I had a great meal once again, the food was served quickly and had good taste. The atmosphere everywhere is clean, friendly and fun, and inside the room it was very spacious, really clean, and very comfortable. If I'm ever back in the area, this one is a no-brainer booking!

If it was not for the intense smell of cigarette smoke that has to be endured once you enter the hotel/casino or leave your actual hotel room, I'd definitely give this hotel./casino a five star review if not for the intense smell of cigarette smoke. This review is a not a form of judging anyone that smokes but as I said, I do not smoke and I am not a fan of secondhand smoke. With that being said, the service was FIRST CLASS from start to finish. The decor of the hotel, the rooms had LOTS of music memorabilia and history. The hotel/casino was very clean, parking ok & security present. It was an overnight trip for me so I didn't get to experience their fine dining at Main+Abbey restaurant, which is open 5-10pm. The other smaller restaurant,Fuel American Grill serves burgers/fries, pizza, salads, hot dogs, ect...it was okay. But if you're eating organic, GMO, ect...then this is not the place for you.If you enjoy gambling there's a casino attached for you to try your luck :) I also enjoyed a small intimate concert that featured Luminare in their Anthem theater, which is 21 and over. The group Luminare is a rock 'n' roll band that puts on a Christmas special every year and people travel all over to see them because they are a PHENOMENAL band. The performance was very magical, mystical, and memorable. I would definitely travel to see their performance again. I included some videos, but check them out on YouTube also especially if you like rock 'n' roll

Seeing live music played in Sioux City is not so common for this area. Perhaps I'm wrong, but there…read moremight be only 3-4 venues a week that have decent music playing (rock is what I am referring to as decent music). Unfortunately in this town there are a glut of cover bands that play all of these venues in a regular rotation. The Chesterfield is one of those venues. Don't get me wrong, The Chesterfield also has some unique acts booked at times too. I have seen good local acts that play all of their own music here as well as hearing a range of genres (heavy metal to blues) playing on the stage here. On to the place itself now; this is a narrow place. What I mean is that when you go into The Chesterfield there's a wide area, then as you walk further into the place it narrows considerably as you go by the bar. This is often where bottlenecks occur and you stand with your drink in your hand held up so nobody spills it (if you're lucky) as you try to continue on into the back, where the stage area is located. The stage is definitely big and suited to a variety of acts. The soundboard is professional and rarely do you have trouble hearing the vocals from bands playing. In addition, they have a large fenced-in smoking area (if you are a smoker). The crowd here definitely ranges from one extreme to another. However, I have never seen a fight here yet. The security is pretty good. This is probably one of Sioux City's better music venues.

Mostly it is because their sound system is exceptional(no joke) the venue is great and I've never had a bad experience here.. plus the guy who owns the place is also the guy handing out drinks and I have a lot of respect for that lifestyle. If its worth it to you to travel to see a show in Chicago, you might find it is also worth making a trip to the Chesterfield. -Billy O'
