Dr. Chakraborty was the ONLY doctor I felt had the right kind of knowledge, expertise and CONFIDENCE to perform the spinal surgery i needed. I had the surgery performed November, 2025 and Dr. Chakraborty has guided me through this very complex recovery with the care and attention I have needed. This guy is not qualified to understand the basics of spinal fluid pressure cases. I have now been accepted into three spinal fluid centers in the United States. While he told me last October my spinal fluid levels were perfectly normal for an "obese woman". They were not. He also told me I had no evidence of a spinal fluid leak despite being a documented patient of a world class spinal fluid center where I've had multiple surgeries. He accused them of defrauding me! All the while he spent 75% of my exam time on the phone with his son planning his air travel for him, his family and don't forget Nana for their upcoming vacation, during my exam! Now after having to start all over on the East Coast for care due to his negligence, less than 10 months later, guess what my latest MRI shows; you guessed it.... a spinal fluid leak! Had spinal surgery scheduled with Dr. McLaughlin. The surgery was being performed out of centrastate in freehold NJ (total dump). Prior to my surgery, the anesthesiologist required pre admission testing and blood work to be done and sent over before surgery could be scheduled which is obviously very routine. Had sign off from my PCP and had the results over to them prior to the surgery date. Date of the procedure comes, im in a gown, hairnet, IV in my arm awaiting surgery and the anesthesiologist decides my hemocrit (red blood cell count) is too high and wont do the procedure. They had my blood work results well prior to the operation date, and i could have donated blood to correct this issue, however this particular anesthesiologist apparently hates doing his job and couldnt be bothered to read the aforementioned blood work results that were sent over well prior, until minutes before the surgery. In cancelling this procedure at the end of december, it will end up costing me thousands out of pocket due to copays being reset on jan 1st and the surgeon, Dr McLaughlin still has not ever reached back out to reschedule or apologize for the unprofessional way this was handled. Save yourself the time and find another specialist. This place is a clown show. read more

Awful. Dr barrese doesn't care. Never reviewed my mri that another Dr ordered. Never brought up cyst on spine. Never gave me legit referrals to pain management. I called his 2 Pain many referrals and they don't even exist. I broke foot as result of my leg totally going dead 2 Weeks ago and he need even reviews the mri to Explain reasons why not does he care. I did everything I needed to beforehand. Got there early. Got my prior records sent. Got my scans in hand. Checked in online. Had to take time off work to come in for the appt but that's okay. so I get in an exam room and wait. And wait. And wait. and WAIT. At an HOUR AND TEN MINUTES I had to leave. I have to make up ANY TIME I SPEND AT AN APPOINTMENT. No one came in and said, "Hey, sorry, the doctor's another 20 minutes, can you wait or should we re-schedule." or How about, "Hey, the doctor's running over a hour behind today, do you still want to come in??"" NO NOTHING. NOT EVEN THE COURTESY of a nurse or PA. "Hey, sorry it's been OVER AN HOUR." I'll find a doctor who actually respects a patient's time. read more

I had an appointment to see the doctor I'm having pain in my neck. I was called and told that they were submitted to my insurance and I I would have to pay the difference. From at the moment I walked in the door the girl was trying to find every reason why I should not be there. Saw Dr. Tormenti for a consult re surgery for my spinal stenosis. He reviewed the procedure with me and then told me that he didn't like to operate on the elderly but he would do it if I wanted him to. My insurance was charged $920.00 for his arrogance and condescension as well as the supposed 45 minutes he spent with me. It was more like 10 to 15 minutes. I can't speak for the whole practice but Dr. Tormenti is certainly not recommended. read more

I have had a hard time with migraines/headaches for a very long time and recently they were getting extremely worse and daily. Dr mark maclughlun saw me very quickly unlike other neurosurgeons. He was kind, got the scripts of the tests I needed. And found I had a neurological disorder called Chiari. I would recommend him to anyone! He was kind, took his time explaining things to me, and just spoke to me like a normal human being. I 100% recommend him and his office. Oh and everytime I call and ask questions the PAs are great , kind and patient. read more

Tried to reach the office to speak to surgeon about my stepson's surgical complications. Tried to tell me I had to call the hospital because my stepson was under care of hospital????? I had to argue with person who answered phone that he was operated on by Dr. Barese & that is who I wanted to speak to. Not seeing how Dr. Barese can divorce himself from my stepson's surgical complications, but it seems he has. Tests apparently being ordered by neurologist. I was put on hold forever. No one ever came back onto phone with a response to me. I finally hung up. My stepson still has limited use of his arms, is unable to sit up or stay up in a sitting position without falling over. He has no use of his legs. This is a VERY unresponsive & difficult practice to deal with. Dr. Barese seems to be hiding. Has seen my stepson only once in four days even tho he has these severe, possibly permanent & life altering complications. All therapeutics like steroids, blood thinners & chest x-ray ordered days after his complications. This is just poor care , IMO, & contrary to recommendations in professional literature. I question the competency of these surgeons & their willingness to take responsibility for patient care especially in the face of complications. My stepson WALKED INTO the hospital & IT SEEMS VERY UNLIKELY HE WILL WALK OUT OR EVER WALK AGAIN. This is a HORRIBLE outcome to his surgery. He has gotten NO compassion, NO explanation from the surgeon. From where I sit, this road only leads in ONE direction DIRECTLY TO DR. BARESE & whatever happened in surgery. AVOID him & this practice if you want good care & a positive surgical outcome. ZERO STARS. My stepson has had his life needlessly & apparently irrevocably upended due to his spinal surgery with this group. It seems they could care less. I could NEVER recommend Princeton Brain & Spine. Saw Dr. Meagher in October 2022. I was in the examination room with the doctor, for not 5 minutes. I told him I no longer had the pain and He said he review my MRI CD, but did not discuss it with me. He had me hold out my hands and push down on his, then he tap my knees for reflex and yesterday I received their bill in which they charged my insurance $920.00, for New Patient Level 4 and now I have to pay $400 out of pocket for nothing. So lesson learn if YOU DO NOT HAVE PAIN DO NO GO TO THIS OFFICE. It is absolutely ridiculous what they charge and a waste of time...... My MRI didn't even cost that much. read more

I'm so thankful my treatment here is over and I never have to set foot in this office again. The Dr.'s are phenomenal and fantastic people, but the office staff is horrible. If you make an appointment and plan on going back to work don't, you'll be there for 3 hours. The staff is super unorganized they gave me the wrong discharge papers more then once and even booked an appointment for me under the wrong name! Train your staff better so the Dr.'s can work seamlessly throughout the day. read more

This is difficult. There's no doubt the doctor here helped my boyfriend, perhaps even saved him from paralysis, after a bad car accident in March left him with a broken neck. So, in an emergency, hell yeah, you can count on these doctors. My boyfriend is thankfully going to be just fine. But for follow-up care, or perhaps even ongoing non-emergency treatment, holy moly, we are merely livestock to them. I wouldn't say the staff members are outright horrible or cruel, but there's a passive indifference that is deeply frustrating. Every time we've gone up there, we have waited for hours before seeing the doc, and they will not give you information unless you remind them that your appointment was an hour ago. For last week's appointment, I took the day off because I knew there would be no way I'd get back to work at a reasonable time. Yeah, I know life is unpredictable and challenging sometimes, so I'm happy to do this, for something this important. But I don't get paid time off, and losing a whole day because of a poorly run office is insulting. And, my boyfriend had been waiting for nearly a month for this appointment, where he would learn if/how well he was healing, and what sort of long-term effects he'd be dealing with, if he'd need physical therapy, etc. Even the lesser, yet pressing, details of how much longer he'd need to wear the giant stormtrooper neck brace, and when/if he could wash the wound, were all unanswered questions until he saw his doctor. He also needed some paperwork to submit for disability. He got a call from the office just as we were heading there for his 11 a.m. appointment, that the doctor he was seeing had been called into emergency surgery earlier that morning, and she was running about a half hour behind. That was thoughtful, if completely inaccurate, in the end. We ran a couple of quick errands before we arrived, and 11:30 came and went without a glance from the staff. Noon came and went, when finally we asked when we might see the doctor. One of the staff members said she hadn't heard anything from the doc, and another one said she'd arrive in 10 minutes, so why don't we come on back to the exam room, go over some questions. The questions took about 3 minutes, and then we waited. And waited. And waited. At 1:00, Jason had to use the bathroom, so while he was up, he asked the front desk staff if there was any word from the doctor. There was no word from the doc, he discovered. But no worries, another one of the doctors would arrive in about an hour. We wanted to leave, but we couldn't - too much hung in the balance. A few minutes later, the office manager came in to speak with us, and she was a pleasant enough woman, though I suspect she's heard it all before -- healthcare providers deal with people at their worst, even without the added dismay of a neglectful office visit. And, we knew that sometimes emergencies happen, and since Jason had benefitted from emergency surgery, it was impossible to be upset about what was happening...it was the lack of information or interest from the office, and the fact that this was standard, that was problematic. The doctor finally arrived and she was apologetic, and patient and thorough, and thoughtful. No complaints there. Really, the doctors here are fantastic. But they might need one more to make things run properly. Or a more compassionate staff. Or both. On our way out, we had to stop at reception for Jason's prescriptions, a follow-up appointment, as well as the disability paperwork. This was a 45-minute calamity. The doctor wanted to see him in a month, and the scheduler continued to offer him dates in July and August -- at the 6 and 8 week mark -- when finally the doc happened to come through and saw that the scheduler was trying to schedule Jason with a different doctor in the office. This doctor said, "I can see him - please schedule him for the end of June," so we were finally given an acceptable date. The prescription for the new brace took forever, for no reason, and the disability paperwork question went around. And around. And around. And around. And we left, having no resolve in that regard: Jason had to make some phone calls the next day. An aside here: the office manager who had come in to speak with us had promised Jason that their chief of staff would follow up with him the next day, which didn't happen. Jason called him to express his frustration. Jason will likely have to continue to see the doctors here for another several months while his neck heals, and I suspect not much will change about the operation of the office. If this were a general practitioner, OB/GYN, dentist, or pediatrician -- a doctor with whom you establish a long-term relationship -- I'd definitely find someone else. I'm laid back and diplomatic, so I understand the occasional visit where we might have to wait for hours past our scheduled appointment. But it's the norm here. And it's not acceptable. Two stars are for the spectacular doctors. read more

Lack of empathy. Lack of information. Case manager was not very informative and took it upon herself to close my whole entire case with disability due to a appointment that needed to be rescheduled due to a death in the family. She said she never received paperwork and without written notice from the doctor she closed my whole case. I was able to clear up the situation but of course with much delay with my case. The doctor I see is nice but doesn't really seem to listen to my worries or complaints of pain. Keeps telling me it's a healing process. It's been a year and I still have the same pain. He never informed me of how much pain I was going to be in after surgery. I mentioned to him about how much hair he shaved off the back of my head in the neck area and his response was ( sometimes they get carried away with shaving hair ) it's been a year since the surgery so exact words are hard to remember but the statement was in that manner and of course he chuckled when he said it like it was some kind of joke. I was horrified about my whole experience with this practice. I would never recommend this practice to anyone. read more

My husband had two surgeries recently at the Princeton Medical Center, an ACDF ( Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion) and a hemilaminectomy in the lumbar region. Dr. Seth Joseffer performed both surgeries. His skill as a surgeon and his attitude towards his patients are commendable. He took the time to listen, really listen to my husband, and made decisions that would alleviate his pain in the best way possible. Here I must put in a word for his scheduling office. Even though they were booked solid for several weeks, Sue, his surgical coordinator, managed to fit my husband into a slot as soon as they found a sudden cancellation. Her thoughtfulness and caring attitude is much appreciated. read more

My husband saw Dr. Aradillas for Alzheimers. After a $40 copay he only spent a few minutes with us and said all he could do was manage his medication and refer him to a psychiatrist for the mental illness part of the disease. No examination! After a week of not hearing from them about the referral, I called them only to be told I should call my insurance company for the referral! Their lack of compassion is inexcusable. I was referred to Dr Shah by my pain management doctor for prolonged neck issues which brought on crippling headaches. I met with Dr Shah after waiting the better part of an hour in the waiting room. I felt that, although he spoke entirely too fast, I could understand what he was saying to me. Based on that meeting, and a subsequent test, I decided to go forward with the recommended surgery of disc replacement. He wanted me to come back with my husband so that he could explain it all to him. We showed up for the appointment and he did not. His staff left us sitting in the exam room for over an hour before I went out to inquire. That's when I found out he was not even in the office. I should have known right then this was a mistake but I was in pain so I went ahead and scheduled the procedure. Dr Shah said that he wanted one of the other surgeons in the O. R. during the surgery because he does a good job on the incision. Then Dr Shah would come in and do the operation. The day of the surgery, Dr Shah came into my room before the surgery and repeated this to me. That was on Oct 12, 2017. I have not seen or heard from this guy since. I was shocked when I read the operating report and found out that the other surgeon, WHO I NEVER MET , did the entire procedure. Furthermore, the report was full of inaccuracies, like that I was closed with staples, for instance. Post op, I suffered an allergic reaction to either the Tagaderm, the sutures or both. After finding out that Benadryl was not helping, I was sent to the emergency room by yet another surgeon in the office to have the incision opened, drained and irrigated. The E R dr said she wouldn't do that if I was her own family because it was still just an allergic reaction. The right ointment and I was on my way to healing. I have had two follow-up visits at this office, neither with a surgeon. I have not seen Dr Shah since right before my surgery. It feels like the surgeons have nothing to do with you once you are off the operating table. I have had the sensation that there is a lump in my throat since the surgery. I mentioned this at both of my follow-up appointments. I was told in November that if it was not gone by January, to contact an ENT. I did so in Feb 2018., and endured that scope up my nose and into my throat. He then sent me to a GI, who sent me for a barium swallow and an endoscopy. She then sent me to a specialist where I endured an esophageal manometry (a test you do not want to have, believe me). It was not until I went through all of this that I was told it could take up to a year for things to resolve after surgery. It would have been nice if anyone at Princeton Brain and Spine would have said this to me. It would have spared me all of these tests and the expense as well. I am spitting mad at this office. I have thought long and hard about putting up this review but there was nothing right about my interactions there. Would also like to note that, with the exception of my last appointment there, those professionals in the exam room with me saw fit to answer their cell phones during my appointment. I find this extremely unprofessional, as well. read more
