He explained he was retiring in 2 days.I asked him about his replacement and he highly recommended Dr Hajeema Sutton. She is the Doctor who took over for Dr Ilowite. I decided to come here for my own care. I was very impressed by Dr Sutton. She is very warm and friendly. She answered all of my questions, and gave me a good plan to follow. I never felt rushed. As a matter of fact, she pulled up a chair to talk with me. She then checked all my moles thoroughly. ( I try to get them checked yearly.) The staff is very friendly. I love that they have appointments in the evenings on Mondays until 7:00p. This office is located in the back end of multiple office units. You can book appointments online. This dermatology group has many offices with different doctors.

I was given an appointment for two weeks later, to get the results and talk about treatment. On my way to the appointment I checked my messages and they left a message saying there was an issue with my biopsy. I called the office and they said the lab said there was not enough sample to get an accurate read, and that I would need to do the biopsy again.. I was like what? I thought I was going there to get my results, not to have the same painful thing done to me again, and band aid on my face again for a week. I cancelled my appointment and will never go back there. Unfortunately I have to have a biopsy again, there is no other choice, but definitely not there.

Before the pandemic ruined everyone's life I was being seen at 2 practices in north jersey - the first one didn't seem to understand why I would be bothered that my alopecia spots weren't healing and the second practice stopped taking insurance after my second appointment. As each injection is hundreds of dollars lmao that promising relationship ended quickly. Healthcare for the rich indeed. For the last 5 years I've been managing the patchiness on my own to inconsistent effect. Recently, another unrelated issue requiring surgery kicked me into high gear to find a new provider. I sought recs from my local FB group, friends and family, etc but they all kept leading me down cottage skincare and other lanes. It was actually a good old-fashioned Google search that led me to Dr. Patel. Bravo on winning the SEO game! From the moment I called (and rescheduled thrice due to car trouble - dang it MINI), the office was welcoming, accommodating, and scheduling relatively quick appointments. On my first visit, Dr.Patel and his team were thorough, curious, and caring. I felt so comfortable with them and I felt like I mattered. In many ways women become "invisible" after age 40 - add race and body size to the mix and it can be difficult to get the care and compassion needed to navigate health challenges. Dr. Patel suggested I get a full blood work up - and actually caught my low iron and anemia. So many somatic mysteries cleared up just because someone listened and cared. I have a surgical procedure scheduled in a few weeks that will bring me immediate comfort and the topical meds and injections Dr. Patel is giving me have restarted hair growth in some persistent patchy spots. Unfortunately she retired and I saw Dr Curtis. After 1 visit I will never go back to this practice again. Horrible bedside manner, would not let me talk about my history or the issues I was concerned about- total malpractice. She did not apply lidocaine properly prior before removing my moles and then Didn't care that when she cauterized my wound that I felt every bit of it. Cannot ever recommend them again.

Always nice, nice. She billed my healthcare provider for (12) skin keratosis when I had (5) removed on my hands by freezing. I called her office and said they overcharged me for services performed and over billed my provided. My provider paid 60%. I was stuck with the over billing. They did nothing to resolve my issue. They know patients are busy and have little time to solve medical billing issues. So, she successfully keeps running her scam. Because it works for her! That's how she make BIG money. I would never ever go there again!!! She is dishonest and staff from front desk to assistants are all in on the billing scam.

During my first appointment over 10 years ago, she had identified basal cell carcinoma on my face and subsequently biopsied and then successfully removed it with MOH surgery. From that time onward, I would drive to wherever she practiced despite there being many other closer dermatologists. My whole family travels the 45 min drive to see her for any skin issue and are always happy with her professional and friendly demeanor. Highly recommend!!

I have had to wait from time to time but his staff is very friendly. He is out of network with insurances so he really only takes Medicare but they do send it off for you. Scheduling was fairly easy. They recently hired a new PA, Jennifer Rendall and she was great when I met her! She said she has practiced dermatology for 8 years and she seems very qualified. They also said if I ever need a later appointment she is doing extended hours so that is good to know. Although it is out of network I think spending a little extra money for great service is worth it.
