It is a place regularly used by the locals for everyday use and for the visiting tourists. NatWest is a good bank though, they are very helpful. An open top bus which tells you all about the history of Cardiff in relation to the places it travels to. There are many other buses to take you to all the areas of Cardiff and to some places just beyond this city also. The city centre tends to be very busy with traffic and people. These are often where I go. I'm not a crazy shopper, nor do I always have the money to spend, so for those; very mad, addictive, shop a holicks this is the town centre to be! A fabulous to socialise, but not to unwind or relax, but to get what you need and to get become organised and the things you need done. It depends where you stay in relation to how you get there and I travel by bus in less a family member kindly gives me a lift, Richmond Road is where Kings Monkton school, just before Dumfries Place bus stop, all of which you will soon see the town centre staring you in the face with Sainsbury's looking straight at you and Queen street (the street it's on).

It is situated on the corner of St Mary's street opposite Capitol shopping centre. Usually when I go to the bank I am left waiting for ages to cancel a direct debit or pay a bill but this bank offers a meet and greet service. As soon as I walked into this bank I was pounced upon (in a nice way) by members of staff eager to help. If they can avoid you queueing for a cashier they will. They have shown me how to use the rapid deposit box when I am paying in checks and set me up with an online account so I can manage my account from home. I love the fact these guys try and make my banking quicker and easier.

As it's a small town you can usually drop in and see a personal banker without too much waiting although the desks are right near the entrance so private conversations don't exactly feel private. Inside, the area for customers is very small, and you're often squeezing past one another. But the service is usually swift, and the staff remember you as a customer and are quite chatty. Sometimes too chatty; I once nipped in to draw out some money for the train and ended up nearly missing it as the lady talked on and on about the weather. But too chatty is not the worst of complaints, really. One notable feature about this bank: they have a cash machine outside which is in the most ridiculous location of all time. Firstly, it's right on the corner of a road, so people come and double park in front of pedestrian crossings and on yellow lines so that other cars can't get through. Fools. Secondly, it's halfway up the wall so they've constructed a little set of steps to take you up to it. I hate standing up there because you feel very on display and the top step is pretty narrow. People in their hundreds must have fallen backwards off them without thinking. Banking has become a daredevil sport.

There is a customer car park at the rear of the building and an automated door and ramp for wheelchair users. The branch staff are always courteous if a little reserved and although the branch is small, it is always clean and presentable. My one fault with this branch is that the ATM outside is only accesible up a couple of steps so if you are in a wheelchair, this is unreachable. Another issue is that when queues build up inside there never seems to be any staff available to come to help and you can have a long wait if the branch is busy.
