He is efficient, fast and has a great personality. I just went again to see him for an ingrown toenail. I was terrified...but in literally 15 minutes - I was walking out of there as if nothing happened. I took off the bandage 24 hours later and it looks as if nothing happened to my toe. It pains me to write this review but I feel it is necessary and hopefully helpful to other patients considering working with this practice. I have been a patient of Dr. Hochstein and have been seeing Stefanie for sterile pedicures every 3-4 weeks for over a year. I have recommended the practice to family and friends and many have become patients. As Stefanie's schedule is very busy and part of my recommended treatment plan was to receive a pedicure every 4-6 weeks, I have had to book my appointments 6 months in advance, which is a bit challenging when planning for vacations, etc. I was always happy to look past this inconvenience as I enjoyed the service that Stefanie provided. Recently, I was called a week before my scheduled appointment and asked if I could come in a week early as Stefanie's schedule was changing and she was no longer going to be in the office on the day of my scheduled (6-months in advance) appointment. As I was recovering from COVID, I asked if there were any other appointments available and there were not. As my future appointments were already pre-booked, I told them it was no big deal as I already had an appointment scheduled 3 weeks forward and would look forward to seeing Stefanie then. When I called 3 weeks later to confirm my upcoming appointment I was told my appointment had been cancelled due to a change in Stefanie's schedule. This cancellation was never communicated to me and further, I had a conversation with the front desk at the time of the previous cancellation and mentioned this exact appointment being on the schedule and there was never any mention of it being cancelled. So now I am left with no appointments for three months due to two cancellations on their side, no prospect of being rebooked as her schedule is full and she is not opening up any additional availability. When I spoke with the front desk about the situation and my dissatisfaction I was essentially told too bad and this is not personal as they had to cancel over 400 appointments due to Stefanie's change in schedule. The amount of effort that is required to coordinate and schedule appointments that are necessary every 4-6 weeks is far too great, coupled with an unaccommodating provider schedule and rude front desk staff is too much for any individual to handle. As a consumer who can make decisions about where I spend my money and time, I will no longer be visiting this practice and I would suggest anyone considering visiting this practice look elsewhere. read more

Took my daughter to get her feet looked at since she was complaining of pain. We arrived at the office 15 minutes before our appointment. The receptionist in the office gave me forms to fill out and she took the time to highlight the sections I needed to fill out. The wait was short and we were seen by Dr. Hochstein. He was very personable and made my daughter feel at ease. He examined her feet and after some X-rays gave us a diagnosis. Seems my daughter has flat feet and needed orthotics. The dr took his time to explain the different kinds available and what he recommends. Overall a great experience and my daughter has a follow up in 3 weeks. Dr. Alec Hochstein and his entire practice are amazing. He is incredibly knowledgable and a straight shooter. My whole family has seen him at one time or another and he's helped us all. He's great with my teen age daughter too. He insisted on coming in to the office during his vacation week to see her because she was in pain- who does that? He's awesome! I never review doctors on Yelp but Family Foot Care deserves a shoutout. My first experience here was probably about 15 years ago. Thankfully I never had to return until recently. Remembering Dr. Hochstein being good and having a great practice, I called and made an appointment for a recent medical issue. The staff is so friendly and nice, and I never had to wait longer than five minutes to be seen. And of course, Dr. Hochstein was just as I remembered. As corny as it sounds, they really do make you feel like family at Family Foot Care. Dr. Hochstein is patient, thorough, and you get the feeling that he really cares about you and about his business. It's great walking into a doctor's office, which can often be an uncomfortable feeling, and feel welcomed. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hochstein and his practice. The staff is so warm and friendly and Dr. A. is the best. The first time I went to him was several years ago for severe heel pain. It only took two visits and I have been pain free ever since. Fast forward to about a month ago and I finally worked up the courage to see him about my little toe that over time had been broken a couple of times and healed but a recent break obviously didn't heal the way it should have. My only regret is that I didn't take care of this sooner. It was an in office procedure and I was extremely nervous but it was over before I knew it. My toe looks normal again and I am very happy. I started going to Dr. Hochstein in 2014 because my nails had some fungus infection. He zapped it away with lazik. I found out they did medical pedicures. At that time I had also been diagnosed with breast cancer and had to go through treatments. I was not risking getting infections at nail salons so since then I have been going for Pedicures with Stephanie. I have peace of mind and never have to worry about getting any nail infection. Today I went to Doctor Hochstein to have a ingrown toenail remove. To say the least I was very nervous. Doctor Hochstein is a very competent, caring man. I don't know if you would call this procedure minor surgery. The doctor gave me two injections performed the procedure painlessly and quickly. Before I knew it everything was done and I was bandaged. I went to this Dr. specifically to treat warts that have been unsuccessful to treat for 5 years. Dr. Alec is the only one in my area that offers The swift therapy, a new method to treat warts. I took my 10 year old daughter to Dr.Hochstein yesterday for the first time. It is almost impossible to get my daughter to go to any doctor. She has been complaining to me about her foot. From the moment I walked into the office I felt we were in good hands. The receptionists were very nice,and the office was clean and beautiful. We then went to the back to meet Dr.Hochstein who was very nice and friendly with a great sense of humor. He is very professional with a great bedside manor. He made my daughter feel very comfortable. He explained everything to her in detail. He even checked on her today to see if her pain had went away. He is very caring. Just got home for seeing Dr. Hochstein and what an absolute lovely experience , definitely worth the trip as I live in franklin square . Several people referred me to this office and I am happy I finally made it there for my daughter who was reporting ankle pain and had a verruca (wart) on her little toe. ( that wasn't responding to my all natural approach). Inessa and Nicole were so efficient, professional and kind. I felt very safe as they were clearly complying with all Covid precautions. Dr Hochstein was so thorough and patient reviewing my daughters xrays with me , the benefit of using the SWIFT, to remove the verruca, analyzed her gait pattern as she walked and recommended custom orthotics. We will be returning in a month for f/u regarding the little toe that received the SWIFT treatment. I cut my foot last month and went to Dr. Hochstein twice to address the injury. He is an excellent doctor because he patiently and thoroughly treated the injury. The office staff was so nice and professional on both visits, and one of the ladies even held my hand during a procedure because she could tell I was nervous. This going to be long! I read other reviews about this practice and thought I would give it a try. I have had ingrown nails in my big toes for the last 6-7 years. I have always had them cut back at the nail salon but it was high time to get them treated by a podiatrist. I met Dr Hochstein and he was very nice and gave me all of my options. He didn't push his own opinions on me. I chose getting the nails cut down to the root on both sides and in about 15 minutes he was done with one of my toes. I went back for my second toe about 2 weeks after the first. The office staff was very sweet - one of the ladies even held my hand and told me to squeeze if I felt any pain - I didn't. Making an appointment was also simple and I didn't have to wait long. After about 3 months from my first appointment, my nail had a crack in it which Dr H told me could happen. I went back and he cut the nail back and it looked awful! I was a little disappointed but he told me that Stephanie does sterile pedicures in the office and that I could see her and she would fix my ugly nail. I went in today and the pictures speak for themselves. I love how my nails look and you can't even tell that they aren't my actual nails but a magical product called Keri. Definitely worth the $$ especially since it's summer!!! read more

After trying to deal with a wart between my toes for six months (I tried salicylic acid treatments as well as liquid nitrogen treatments, which worked a tiny bit but then the warts quadrupled) I came to Dr. Hochstein who recommended the SWIFT treatment. A horrible experience!! Let me start by saying that I think Dr. Hochstein is a wonderful doctor but not a wonderful professional!! I went to this office today for the 3rd time. I was met by the following words: "you have a $50 balance" from there everything went downhill. I want to assure everyone that I never raised my voice or was nasty to the front desk woman. I was appalled by the so called "office manager" Stephanie who was rude and yelled at me and then of course I yelled and walked out!! All this because I was told that I had a balance, I knew that I didn't. The front desk employee was clearly not keen on billing practices. I was then told that my copay was $50 not $45 and they were right. no problem. But the problem came because Stephanie was not fond of my comments and/or questions. We'll call the front desk person the FDP. She clearly knew nothing about billing and I think this Stephanie person was getting annoyed with her but took it out on me. First they spoke of a balance, I knew that was wrong, then co-insurance, I knew that was wrong as well! Offices bill the co-insurance to the home, you never pay it at the office!! All you pay at the office is the co-pay. They kept charging the wrong stuff on my AMEX and voiding it. A horrible experience!! THE WORST PART FOR ME WAS THE DOCTOR!! IF HE WERE A PROFESSIONAL, HOW COULD HE NOT STEP UP AND NOT ALLOW HIS OFFICE STAFF TO SPEAK TO A PATIENT LIKE THAT!! SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS AT ME!! I never thought I would write a review about a podiatrist but Great Neck Family Foot Care is just that awesome! I've had this cyst on my foot for 3 years. I originally went to another podiatrist when I first got it but that doctor said it would be very costly and would require several visits to fix so if it didn't bother me too much, it would be best to just leave it alone. Now, 3 years later, it started to cause me enough pain to schedule a doctors visit and get a second opinion. From the first call to schedule the appointment, this office has made this experience one of the best doctor visits I've ever had. The women at the front desk are so sweet and welcoming.
