I regret that my review isn't positive but it's written in an effort to warn others and to…read morehopefully get a response from the owner who has ignored us for the past two months. We first met the owner, Terrance, in February when he painted our new home. He guaranteed competitive rates and assured us that he took good care of the military. He also informed us that he guaranteed the quality of his work and would correct any blotches we found at a later time. We were mostly satisfied with the paint job but noticed a few days later as the light hit the wall at different points of the day that the there were not enough coats of paint in several areas and other areas needed to be touched up. It took us several weeks to reach the owner. He was very apologetic and eventually came back out and had another painter come and fix the problems. We were initially very impressed with the employee he sent out to redo the paint job, named Troy. We asked Troy if he knew of anyone who did tile work as we were also wanting to do a backsplash and he informed us that he had done many backslashes and would happily complete the job and could do so within the next week. He stated that he informed us that he would need money upfront to guarantee the job. Long story short, he never completed the job and came up with a series of elaborate lies concerning a daughter he made up who he stated was injured and in critical condition over a several weeks and misrepresented his military experience to gain our sympathy. After several weeks of him continuing to share new tragedies that prevented him from completing the job, we contacted the owner directly who profusely apologized and stated that his employee had misrepresented his skills and he would have one of his other employees who was actually skilled in tiling complete the work. The tiling work was complete and we paid the owner an additional $300 after he guaranteed us that he would bring us the initial $200 dollars we paid to his employee directly from is employee's paycheck on pay day later that week. He stated that he intended to fire Troy because this was not the first time that he had come up with elaborate lies to get money, and had in fact done the same thing to the owner in the past. This incident occurred in May and we have never heard back from the owner. He has ignored multiple calls and text messages. We were clearly gullible in this situation and should have never paid money upfront. Still, for a business that touts taking care of the military, we are in shock and in disbelief that the owner has gone back on his word and has ignored all of our messages, especially after he spoke with us at length about how disgusted he was with his employee's actions. The last we heard, he still employs Troy. I hope that this review protects others from having a similar experience with this local business. We are no longer interested in getting our $200 dollars back, but hope that the owner might finally take responsibility for his poor business practices through an apology and that he uses this review as a learning tool and reminder to treat his future customers with more respect than what he showed us.
