He quickly completed the initial task (trimming some plywood and fitting a dishwasher), but also noticed and fixed a dishwasher installation issue that another company had messed up. When he investigated some water damage on floor tiles that I was worried about, he discovered it was much more extensive than I expected, affecting not just the floor tiles but the drywall as well. Egor explained everything to me clearly and showed me exactly what the issues were and the solutions for them. He had all the right equipment and expertise to handle it properly, from moisture assessment to restoration work and mold prevention. We were looking to upgrade our kitchen sink and faucet, but our problem was that our sink cutout was custom. New sinks wouldn't fit without making a few cuts to our countertop. The plumbers we contacted were either really busy or really expensive (meaning they wouldn't want to do it unless it's really worth their time). His rate was competitive and it was a flat rate for the job. Through our correspondence, Elijah even downloaded the cutout template of the new sink to give us an estimate how much would be cut and what his rate would be for making the cut. On the day of the job, he came in prepared and he was very respectful of our time and space. We provided our new sink and faucet to install, and he recommended that we should upgrade our garbage disposal too since it was pretty old. I've had at least two others come by, one of them hasn't given me a quote, the other had followed up and I did receive a quote from them. I can't say the same for this guy, he just left me on read and never bothered to follow up. I'm not going to go out my way to pay someone and give them an opportunity because it's not my job to go after people and to follow up. Also if you're more "value orientated" like me, he has a $550 a day minimum so keep that in mind. It could be that my job didn't hit this so he couldn't of bothered, but I am just speculating. The process to find a reliable contractor is a quasi part time itself. All of them are situational and with that being said, it's a huge YMMV based off when you need or want them and if they will even bother to entertain you because they just don't care enough to follow up if its a bad time (Which you'll never know). There's a happy ending to this story though, one of the people did get back to me and I just need to figure out how to schedule him when we figure out how we're going to get things done. This is all the time and effort I will put into this.

That combo is hard to come by these days. I found William and his wonderful crew here on Yelp, and was excited to do our home improvement project with them. We needed repair of a water-damaged ceiling in a spare bedroom, along with some painting, to really freshen up the dated, not-very-cozy-look of the room. Not only did they stunningly repair/paint the room, they went above and beyond what we originally had planned. They encountered more severe cracks in our walls than anticipated, and spent more time and material repairing things properly. Now, I figured this, of course, would raise the amount on our invoice substantially; but when we received our bill from William, he charged us our originally agreed upon amount. William's moto is to not charge his clients more than what is agreed upon in advance, so there are no surprises. Talk about character and integrity! We were deeply touched by that and very appreciative. This is a rare thing in these times where prices seem to be soaring, yet the quality of the work is declining. So, thank you William (and Eleazar!) for taking such loving care of our personal space, and treating us with such respect and care. You are rare gems in these times! Our front door has been slowly failing since we moved in. Incompetent and careless. They did work repairing our kitchen a few years ago after mold. What they…read moresaid would be a 2 week job turned into probably 5 months. Writing this now because I just saw an outlet underneath the sink that's not at all mounted to the wall and was reminded of how ridiculous this whole ordeal was. They'd come maybe 2 times a week, maybe less, sit in the driveway and wait for each other for a while, and they'd always forget what they were supposed to do. Then they'd say "ah ya we remember now, gotta go to Home Depot" and take another 1-2 hours. The pace of work was incredibly slow. When they were redoing our kitchen, we came home and saw that the main handyman had bought cabinets for the sink that opened straight into the fridge and stove, so you could barely open them. It was on a corner, so clearly a corner / lazy Susan cabinet was needed. Delayed the job by however many days. They cracked the sink they put in, and there's carvings in the countertops from where they messed up with sloppy cutting. When they installed the AC window units, they stained the window panes, sink, and the outside of the house with the insulation foam and didn't attempt to clean it until I asked. They didn't get much up; still stained. They didn't put calking around the countertop they put in behind the sink. There were a bunch of other times where similar things happened that I had to ask them to redo it or do a part of the job they'd missed.
