Our DJ for the evening, DJ Freddy, truly elevated the celebration. He took the time to call us about two weeks before the event to get to know our family and understand our vision for our Mom's birthday, which we greatly appreciated. As a Filipino family, it was especially meaningful that he incorporated Filipino artists into the playlist, which was a thoughtful and personalized surprise. He also went above and beyond in accommodating our special requests--he secured the instrumental version I needed for a song I performed during our parents' first dance, and he prepared all the line-dancing music, artists, and songs we had requested ahead of time. By reviewing our run of show and special requests in advance, he helped make the entire evening seamless. He was friendly, approachable, and highly attentive throughout the event, and we would gladly work with him again in the future. He also checked in with me frequently throughout the night to get a feel for what our guests might enjoy next and to ensure our timeline of events was running smoothly. They had helpful organizational tools leading up to the event that kept us on track with which songs we needed and gave us an easy place to log them. We had a prep call with our DJ, Chris, who asked us questions about our musical taste, level of DJ interaction we wanted at the wedding, etc. And on the day-of, he delivered: the dance floor was packed and everyone had a fantastic time. My biggest fear in hiring a DJ is that they would be cheesy, or not be able to read the room, and Chris was neither of those things. The need to select a list of songs for cocktail hour, dinner, etc. was a little overwhelming for me - I would have preferred if they would have gotten an idea of what kind of music we liked and went with that. Overall, I think the DJs did a great job of keeping people on the dance floor. I loved when he threw in some old school Blink 182 for everyone to dance to. My only complaint is that he played all of my "Must Plays" in a row more toward the end of the night instead of spreading them out. I also like that they do a good job of coordinating and practicing with you for introductions to make sure they get all the names pronounced right.
