Best nails I have gotten in Sumter
    Annon A.

They look great and the shape is perfect, he did them pretty fast also. $40 for a refill with gel polish and shape, a little expensive but honestly its worth it because they are the best nails I have gotten in Sumter.

I'm new to Sumter and needed a place to get my nails done, after other shops weren't cutting it I found pro nails! The staff is extremely kind and professional. Mary did my nails and she was sweet and paid attention to detail. I showed her an inspired pic of what I wanted and she completely delivered! Thanks again Mary!-Kiki

I…read morecame in with muscle tightness stemming from my hyper-mobility and bad posture and I left feeling like I had a new body. Dawn heard my concerns and addressed them by confirming where my muscle tightness was and focusing on those areas with a mix of heavy and light massage. There was one point where I had extreme tightness in my upper back and Dawn massaged some muscle up there and I felt it loosen the entire way down to my butt; I have never experienced a relief/release like that. I can honestly say that this massage experience changed my life as I will be seeking out that same relief from anything and everything. The atmosphere is also unmatched, cozy rooms with comfy sheets and blankets and fans to keep you at a comfortable temperature. Plus, it all ends with a heavenly head massage. 1000/10 experience, pleaseee go visit Dawn to start your day off with rejuvenated muscles!

Yes. That actually strengthens the review because it raises a fair question about why you were…read moreassigned to Shenekwa when the spa apparently identifies Kirstie with that specialty. I'd word it as a question rather than claiming anything about their staffing decisions: I booked a lymphatic drainage massage yesterday, and unfortunately, this was one of the worst day-spa experiences I've had. I've been to plenty of spas and have had lymphatic massage before, so I had a reasonable expectation of what this service should be. What makes this especially disappointing is that I explained to my therapist, Shenekwa, that my doctor specifically recommended lymphatic drainage massage to help my body decongest. I explained that this was an important massage for me and that I needed someone experienced and knowledgeable in lymphatic drainage. I specifically asked Shenekwa whether she had performed lymphatic drainage massages before and about her experience with them. She told me that she has several clients she performs them on. After experiencing the service and listening to her responses when I asked questions about lymphatic drainage, I personally find that very difficult to believe. She would give me answers, but they were vague and unhelpful and did not demonstrate the level of knowledge I would expect from someone regularly performing this specialized service. The massage itself was equally disappointing. She used a cheap-feeling aloe vera gel and didn't even have enough product to complete my massage. She actually ran out during the service and continued rubbing and massaging areas of my skin DRY. It was uncomfortable and completely unacceptable for a professional spa service. The lymphatic drainage technique and sequence also did not resemble what I have previously experienced with this type of massage. The entire service felt low-effort and as though very little care was being put into it. I actually felt worse when I left than I did when I arrived. What makes this even more frustrating is that, according to the spa's own website, Kirstie is listed as specializing in lymphatic massage. If the spa has a therapist who specifically specializes in the service I booked, why wasn't I scheduled with her? Especially when I made it clear that this massage was recommended by my doctor and that having someone experienced was important to me. Had I known there was a therapist there who specifically specialized in lymphatic massage, I absolutely would have requested her. There was also an issue before my appointment even started. About 30 minutes before my scheduled 4:00 p.m. appointment, Shenekwa spoke to my husband and told him that she was getting a tire changed and would be running late. I still arrived before my scheduled appointment because I'm always on time. When I arrived, she was already there and apparently able to start on time. I'm glad she made it on time, but since she had spoken to my husband to say she would be late, she could have contacted us again to let us know that she had actually made it back on time. It left me wondering what would have happened if I had relied on what she told my husband and arrived at the later time she indicated. Would I have then been considered late or charged for being late? Clients are expected to respect appointment times, and that consideration should go both ways. If you're going to charge premium day-spa prices for a specialized service like lymphatic drainage massage, you should make sure the therapist performing that service is properly trained, knowledgeable, and skilled in that specific technique. And if you already have someone on staff whom your own website identifies with lymphatic massage, I don't understand why clients booking that specialized service wouldn't be placed with that person. I still gave Shenekwa a $9 tip because I felt she at least tried, but the service failed miserably to meet my expectations. I left feeling worse than when I arrived, and I would absolutely never return. I've had many day-spa experiences, and I've never had one quite like this. For the amount of money being charged, customers deserve a much higher level of professionalism, knowledge, and care.

Our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised walking in. The salon is lovely,…read morewe'll-decorated and we were promptly greeted. We checked in for our appointments and even though they were at 12 & 12:45 they got us both started ASAP. My technician, the niece of the owners was amazing, gentle and did a great job. The only reason I give 4 stars is that my daughter showed her technician a picture of coffin shaped nails and came out with them super squared and she has abrasions on several fingers. When i asked her about that she said the technician was very rough and hurt her. I asked her if she spoke up and she said she was scared to. That's some of her being 15 I'm sure (& I was at another table) but it's also important for the artist to recognize if a client may be younger or shy and make sure they're getting a quality experience and what they want / have asked for. These are her nails for her 16th birthday present. The owner was SUPER sweet & when she found out it was our birthdays gave us each a sweet little gift! We'll definitely come back again, just probably ask for a different technician for my daughter.

While I was getting a pedicure, a mother came in with her young daughter to get a manicure and pedicure. The little girl was white. The owner began talking about how beautiful the little girl was. Then the conversation changed, and she said that when "other kids" come in, they are loud and disruptive. My friend responded that all children can be loud sometimes. The owner then said, "No, only Black kids," and went on to say they are "ghetto" and that she tells her employees to work on them quickly and get them out of the salon because they disturb her wealthy clients. I am Puerto Rican, and my husband is Black. My family is multicultural. Hearing the owner make those comments left me shocked and speechless. I froze and decided to leave because I couldn't believe what I had just heard. I had planned to return and confront the owner, but I had to travel the following day and wasn't able to. I will never return to Chic Nails and Spa. If you are Black, Hispanic, or anyone who believes every customer deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, I encourage you to consider spending your money elsewhere. In my experience, no business that expresses racist views deserves the support of the community.
