Sprayed the decks - & oversprayed the shingles, painted all the rocks around the house, missed painting several areas, took all leftover paint. What a mess! Every day was a new nightmare. Charged for painting both sides of doors - only did outside with latex paint. I had to repaint doors myself with proper enamel. Blamed me for distance to house, him scheduling to work on gf's bday weekend, the rain, his brother ditching job after 1 day - all the customer's fault. In a bind, I talked him into coming back 1 day to finish outside. Next day - called to find him. 10 am his gf calls, says he took a drywall job & they would find me someone. Sent me a joker with no painting experience or tools - ran him off after 2 hours. He was an emotional mess, unprofessional, tried to threaten me, didn't even finish the outside. Paid him in full for outside & told him if he or anyone associated w him contacted me I would press charges. Military people finish the job. Stay far away from this guy unless you like emotional roller coaster messes. Ken - best not to respond since you know it's all true.

We had the entire interior of our home painted which entailed 2 days worth of wall repair and prep work, before the painting could begin. A crew of 3 comes in and covers & protects the floors, furniture, etc. and an entire 2700 sq. foot home was completed in 5 days! This included painting the front door and some outside touch up work. Amazing! Doug the owner personally supervised his crew every morning and at end of work day. Which for us who was having this done while living in another state so reassuring...Doug personally assured that any packages that were delivered were put in the home, even after the painting job was finished!! Who does that??!!! We are also having all the kitchen cabinets and butler panty cabinets done in a week and I am sure we will arrive at our new home and think we entered the wrong home, LOL. I have seen reviews here where some thought their services were too expensive and as the old saying goes "you get what you pay for!" and trust me we got what we paid for and more! For a much bigger house, for ceilings, walls, placement of baseboards ... the total cost WITH paint, tools and primer came to $3000 labor, $2000 or less in materials for the premium paint. I'm not sure how 5 Star came to their price quote; but, check the others out. And, yes, our painting team in Vegas was bonded and insured. I actually had to sit down when I saw this quote. I'd love to also see their mission statement. Do they work with diverse clients such as LGBTQ or do they think I was a fool and pay it. Did they price me out on purpose. I am not new to Springfield and will find a wonderful place to paint my interior. I told the professional who recommended 5 Star to me and they said they would not refer them again; AND, stated that pricing was extremely strange.

We booked Chris from A to Z after having hired a guy "that was supposed to be from our…read moreneighborhood" who said he just moved here and was starting a business. He gave us a good deal, but once he realized he didn't have the skill to paint our house he quit, so we reached out to A to Z.. Chris came out and just couldn't stop bragging about how he was from California, and was on the news and was set on "teaching these fly by night painters a lesson." Chris walked our house and gave us a decent estimate. We asked if he did basic repairs? He said yes he did little stuff, and I said awesome. So we wrote up the paperwork and I gave him $500 cash. My wife texted him a couple days later and just had a few questions about the paint. Chris then told her he was canceling the job. I then texted him to ask if I could come pick up our deposit "fearing he was scamming us!" He responded with "checks in the mail." And his reason for canceling was "we were too bothersome with pics and texts." This is from 2 texts mind you and a call! He then proceeded to bombard myself and my wife's phones with texts!!! Saying we were too troublesome, and continuing to reiterate that he thought the job was going to be too much of a hassle. I have screen shots over 5 texts to me "way more than he got." I told him the only thing I wanted was a refund. He responded with "Check is in the mail, don't harass me or I will put a hold on it, and I have contacted the authorities..."WTH? He then sent our check with a letter "which I have" basically saying we are too much trouble and our house isn't a mansion." Absolutely unprofessional and would never recommend. All of this could have been avoided had he just said "Sorry I'm unable to take this job; your deposit has been mailed."
