A year ago, I had several companies come out to help…read morefix the extreme cold happening on the 1st floor of our 1929 built brick and concrete structure home. I was a bit frustrated because they were offering cookie cutter solutions/services without really identifying the issue(s) causing the extreme cold. I called Dr Energy Service (DES) and was fortunate to have the owner, Chris Shepard come out and provide an energy audit. As you can imagine with the age of our home, he discovered there is no insulation in the walls, ceilings of the 1st floor and to make matters worse, our furnace is located in the attic, which means the solution must push heat down to the lower level! This is a unique situation which called for unconventional solutions. Chris listened, educated , and offered budget friendly options, including those that did NOT use their services. He was a man of integrity, patience, and knowledge. We were very cold, and he could have taken advantage of the situation and sold us all kinds of services; but he didn't! That spoke volumes and this year I called him back and together we determined a plan of action to warm our home. On 12/31, the crew (Jordan, Tyler, Cameron, Brayden, and Jake) came out to perform the work. The guys were punctual (8:15am), professional, courteous, and worked non stop the get the work completed in a timely manner. They kept me in the loop of the work planned and a few minor changes to the plan, that often come with an older home. They cleaned up, actually left things cleaner than when they started (Don't judge me lol) I am extremely happy and I highly recommend DES and hopefully when you book your project(s), you will be lucky to have the awesome crew I had at your home.

Took a long time to start and then a long time to finish the project. Stated 3-6 weeks to begin…read moreproject which actually began in over 9 weeks. Then there was a delay as not enough supplies were ordered. However, when the job was done we were very satisfied with the quality of the installation. Our installers, Phil and Steve were very customer service oriented and their quality of work transformed our house into just the look that we wanted. I would recommend Platinum in the future.

We had Platinum add more insulation in some of the attic areas and blow cellulose into the exterior…read morewalls. It took a little longer to complete the job because there was a problem with their machine that blows the insulation. They had to take the machine about two hours away from Dayton to have it repaired, and the manufacturer had delays of their own. Once it was back up and running, they were back to complete the job. They had to cut a fairly large hole in the bonus room's knee wall to gain access. They contracted a drywall company to come out and fix the wall and it looks just as it did originally. The owner, James, and his certified energy tech, Jeff, came out to use the infrared thermal imaging camera to verify the walls didn't have any voids. Everything looked good and we're looking forward to increased comfort and lower utility bills!

We hired this company last year to insulate our home. They did a full attic tune up, installed…read moretheir polyshield everywhere, and did a number of non-insulation things to cut our bills, like lowering the temp on our water-heater, which wasn't appreciated. I'm seeing what a waste of money it was now because our house is still leaking heat, creating huge icicles all over and water damns that are leaking through the walls, the we're still the first on the street to have all the snow melted off our roof. It's exactly what I was seeing last year that led me to hire them. I feel like we were hoodwinked.

The installers built 2 inch foam boxes to cover each can light, and were very efficient to get our attic and great room covered with the energy barrier. Throughout the years, when we have had issues with our roof, they have always been very responsive to inspect and if necessary, replace shingles with only cost of the replacement shingles, no labor. We are currently working with them to replace our roof again and they are great at communicating the process and answering questions. I highly recommend Solid Rock to anyone needing a new roof.
