Company should be named UNProfessional Driving School. Avon Lake location is a run-down backroom office behind Salad Kraze. In class instructor was boring and monotone. In car driving instructor "Tina" was rude and constantly yelled at the student driver, while also refusing to expose the student driver to freeway driving. Tina would also pick up another student, while in a session with an exisiting student, on the way to drop off that exisiting student. In car driving instructor "Mr. Steve" no-called no-showed for a 9am session. Office staff has zero customer service and could care less about the students they take money from. Find another company to use. This one is garbage. read more

Wish I could give more - but these 3 stars alone go to DON the BTW guy! He's been awesome with our son. Communicative and a real pro out there. Y'all need to hire him FULL time, and take note of how he treats the customer (in this case, a 15.5 yr old young man). The internal phone staffing needs help! I begged them to answer the phones like a PROFESSIONAL - but instead you just go straight to hold with no real greeting such as "Thank you for calling Professional Driving School, please hold someone will be with you shortly..." None of that. The After Hours help has been a mess as well, don't expect any real help there - you'll soon learn the broken record replies are just going to frustrate you... We paid for Elite, and thank goodness we got our guy Don. He's clear and talks to our son like he should. Clear and concise. Don't expect much from the actual N. Ridgeville office/building - it's like non-existent and you just meet in the back of some office building, zero signage. You don't get any warm/fuzzy feeling in that, trust me. Good luck all, I don't know how many actual options we had here in Avon, but Don saved our experience here! read more

I cannot recommend Professional Driving School in Avon Lake enough. I just finished my in-car driving sessions with them. I chose to took the classroom portion of the requirement online, so this review is for the in-car sessions only. I trained with Phil twice, Tina once, and John once. Although a lot of students I've talked to stuck with one instructor, I found it valuable to change it up. The instructors were always prompt and they did a fantastic job. The website was easy to use and the discussion area was very useful for when I had questions. All scheduling is done through your website account and the instructor's cell phone numbers are provided to coordinate pick-up/drop-off arrangements. Cancellations are free if they're 24 hours before the appointment start. Phil: Phil made my first time stress-free and enjoyable. Phil is a fantastic conversationalist and we really had great conversations. He knows so many tricks to make you a safer driver easily. He catered to my needs. Phil is very relaxed and never used his brake. I felt as if he trusted me. Phil is my hands-down #1 recommendation. Tina: Tina is a really cool person! She is also a great conversationalist. Tina is very talkative, so if that's not your thing I'd probably advise to stay away. She did an awesome job with me when driving, but wish she gave me a little more direction when we were practicing maneuverability. John: John was great. John's not a big talker and a little rough around the edges, but a great instructor. John had some really cool tricks and made sure I was road-ready with some extra curriculum through verbal questioning. He helped me to see the maneuverability course in a new way which simplified it. I 5/5 recommend PDS. Make sure you see Phil and John for sure as they were both such valuable assets in making me a confident and comfortable driver. My only complaint would be the Chevrolet Cruze's used. They were dirty and were really beat up mechanical-wise. The one car was very bad mechanically. The transmission was definitely on it's last leg which made it seem like I struggled with keeping my accelerator pressure steady. Nothing that capitalized my safety, but just a little aggravating. read more

Professional Driving School in N Ridgeville was amazing. The driving certificate was emailed to me in just 2 days, not including the weekend, and my sons driving instructor Ken was so awesome. He was so professional, yet easy to talk too, explained things clearly and made my son feel comfortable and at ease while driving. Don't spend the money on this driving school! Almost $500 (!) and it's been a nightmare from the beginning. First off, their website is awful! Hard to navigate through and totally incomprehensible. My granddaughter completed the online portion and we tried to start the BTW (behind the wheel). What a joke! It is impossible to find any openings unless we driver her to a different location and even those are during the day when she's in school! I am considering asking for a refund on the BTW but first need to see if I can find another school that would do just the BTW for us. read more

My son enrolled online to take driver's ed classes (on the road) He went through this company's web site. After getting the covid contract, creating an account for to enroll, entering all his personal info and then making a payment, the payment did not process. (The money was available in his account when he did all of this) At the end of the payment process, he was taken to a page that stated the payment was not processed. The money is still pending 12 days later. He called the main office for this business and the number he was given was disconnected. He contacted the Avon location and was told that he could send the main office a check. Ummm. No, he already paid $350.00 and has not gotten it back. He was also told that the money would be returned into his account. Yet, 12 days later, nothing. I will be reporting this business to the BBB, calling our local news station and going to social media to get this matter solved. I do not recommend this business. read more

Horrible customer service skills. Daughter finally gets in to do her in car sessions and then they changed her last day to a new instructor but fail to tell us that she needs to come to a new location. I call and get yelled at for letting them know and trying to reschedule? Nisa was argumentative and just rude. Instructors have been great but to get that behavior on the phone just for trying to reschedule is unbelievable!! Find another place to give your $300. read more

When I came here for class I felt the classes could have been shortened to 2 hours from 4 hours because for half the class we only heard about personal problems from the instructors. After finally completing my classes I requested my papers and certification and was told I won't be able to get it today because the woman in the office didn't want to file it. The learning cars are dirty and not kept up to standards. If you're reading this take my advice and go to heights it's right across the street and they run a much better business. read more
