I would not recommend NC Professional Driving School. Sammy did not show up for my son's first behind the wheel lesson. The morning of he texted me saying he would be a few minutes late. We waited for 45 minutes and he was a no show. The second lesson he changed the time of our scheduled appointment after I texted him to confirm the time on the day of the appoinment. This happened again on my son's second behind the wheel lesson. He changed the time and then was 15 minutes late. He had another student in the car for my son's second lesson and my son's second lesson was driving this other student in the car from Huntersville to Mathews to the student's home. My son said he was not comfortable with the way Sammy spoke to him, more yelling not teaching. My son also informed me that Sammy would be on his phone and texting during lessons! I believe this because day of 3rd behind the wheel I was texting with Sammy and then called him and he answered while driving in the car with a student giving a lesson. I know because after speaking with me for a couple of minutes and me expressing that I was unhappy with his services he told me he was giving a lesson and had to "pay attention" to his student driver. I chose this school based on reviews and that they had a self-paced online teen course. I would highly reconsider using this school for the driver's ed teen education . They are unreliable and do not communicate well. Please take the time to read all reviews and do not make the same mistake I did. Sammy apologized for the way he spoke to me and explained he was having a bad day and has students all over Charlotte. If I am paying a premium of $428.00 I expect the owner to be professional and not make excuses for his disrespectful behavior nor his lack of being able to schedule appointments correctly. He does not respect other people's schedules or time nor does he model safe driving by texting and speaking on the phone during lessons. We had only 3 weeks for my daughter to get her permit. She attended Sammy's online class, passed the written exam, and got her behind the wheel time in within our short timeframe. From the first contact, Sammy responded quickly and was a pleasure to work with. Professional Driving School employees went out their to accommodate our limited timeframe with great communication and effective instruction. My daughter passed both the written assessments from the driving school and the NC permit exam on the first try. We highly recommend this driving school! read more

I'd be lying if I'd say I didn't learn anything. I learned so much from the lessons I took weekly in the Summer. It took me two tries but I did get my license in the middle of August. I had two instructors, Hassane and Sammy. Hassane was my teacher for the majority of my lessons and I 100% recommend him for anyone nervous drivers. Not so much Sammy, at least for my personal experience, he wasn't too patient with me and it seemed like he didn't know what the DMV was going to test me on, he wasn't to confident in me, but that's just me. I do definitely believe this is worth any news driver's time. read more

My instructor Sammy went above and beyond in helping me to get my North Carolina driver's license. As I was living in the big cities of Sydney and San Francisco from 1998 to 2015, I did not need a car and seldom rented one either. My license had expired just before moving to North Carolina and decided to reestablish in North Carolina. I saw Sammy's car at he Arrowood DMV and contacted him for help. He met me on Sunday so that he could help me refresh my driving skills before I was due to go to he driving skills test. He was an excellent teacher and taught me best practices and took me through the driving skills test twice including startup procedures. On the day of the exam, Sammy met me at 6am so we could be nearly first in line. He waited patiently and came to check on me in line to make sure I was ok and not nervous. His instructions and preparations of me were spot on and I passed without any problems. Thank you Sammy! read more

I usually don't give reviews but i think every comment can be useful negative or good. I don't like giving negative comments but if it helps someone than ok. Plus i'm very frustrated right now. I tried this company out because of the good reviews and the pricing. I moved here from NY and I really need my license to get around down here. Now here's my problem with the company, so far in total i have booked 4 appointments with Sammy and only 1 of them has been kept. I just don't see how that's good business. I know things come up and things happen but to cancel on a person 3 times is ridiculous. Your company obviously needs a better system so that your not overbooking and are able to keep all of your appointments.I was understanding the 1st time, the 2nd frustrated and now the 3rd i will be taking my money elsewhere. I saw the great reviews and decided to book a 6-hour package with them. The first day went ok, I noticed that the instructor spent a lot of time on his phone and I was glad he felt comfortable enough with my driving to relax, but then again I'm not paying $200 to have a passenger on their phone. I thought the second day would go about the same as the first, but that is not what happened. About 20 minutes into my lesson my instructor receives a call from what seems to be another student that is asking about how they book appointments, and this conversation was going on for a long time. As my instructor talks with this other student, he's giving me hand motions as to what to do next. So he tells me to make a left turn which I start doing, and I didn't notice that I was turning the wheel too far because it's literally just my second day behind the wheel. So as I'm trying to make this turn, this man is getting annoyed with the student on the phone and grabbing at the wheel without explaining to me what he wants me to do. Eventually, I make the left turn and everything is fine and he finally concludes his call, but then demands me to pull over in. And starts talking to me in this volume that is almost shouting. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I did not pay $200 for you to talk to me like you're my dad or something. I reply to him in the same tone so he gets the idea that I will not have him talking to me like that. After that, I did not want to continue my lessons with him, I completed it just because I didn't want to go through the trouble of getting a refund. I really just needed a car to practice with so I could get more confidence behind the wheel, and I did gain that confidence I sought but it was no thanks to Sammy. I don't understand why they don't have a secretary or someone to manage their calls, it isn't safe, especially if the student is super inexperienced. Maybe it was just my experience with them cause everyone else seems to have had a great time, but I personally can't recommend them. I would not call them professional at all. read more

I just moved here from NYC, and while I have my license I hadn't driven in years. So I needed refresher course hours before driving alone with confidence. Never again!! Be warned! I paid $400 for my daughter to take lessons. Because of COVID her getting her permit and turning 18 overlapped. I have text messages and emails ensuring me that my daughter would get 6 hours of driving time regardless of how long it took. Here is lesson number two and THE KICKED HER OUT OF THE CAR. With complaints that I didn't pay. No one asked for a copy of my electronic receipt or that email confirmation. No one talk to each other and everyone is confused. DO NOT... I REPEAT... I would give them zero stars if I could. The instructor did a half ass job helping me prepare for the road test, he would be late for scheduled appointment times which is super unprofessional and trying to make appointments was inconvenient. Instead of showing me what I was doing wrong he would just yell and get mad. I've had previous driving lessons with a different company and they were way better I should have just went back to them , I highly recommend you do your research and find someone that can teach you with your style of learning. read more

Don't bother with the negative reviews! Sammy is a very busy instructor. That being said, he's got many requests because he dedicates himself 150% to every client. Sammy has changed my life! I never thought I'd drive in a million years! Sammy was able to help me overcome my fear and teach me the skills to become a safe driver most importantly. Prior to finding Sammy, I had called soooo many driving schools and no one seemed interested in teaching a 30 year old how to drive. Then of course, Sammy comes along with all the patience that someone needs in order to learn and overcome any fear they might have. Don't think twice, Sammy is the guy in Charlotte! Incredibly unprofessional scheduling. I sought a lesson at 1 PM on Saturday, was called back shortly before the time, told there was an emergency, which is understandable. the schedule of the same day was pushed to 2:00, and then pushed to 2:30. The driver finally appeared at 3. While emergencies are circumstantial, being skirted an hour past an emergency and not calling 30 minutes or saying anything about the lateness is not. and the nerve to be told that the customer should be flexible with the tutor's schedule after being 2 hours late from the original time as if I wasn't being more than flexible an hour and a half after the first meeting time passed is irrational.
