What a great place for lamp repairs as well as purchasing a new lamp, chandelier or ceiling fan. If you are looking for new lighting or lamp repair, I highly recommend Greenbrier Lighting at Hilltop. The store is beautiful and the employees are very nice and helpful.

You can't imagine how broken hearted I was when someone knocked over my cherished lamp & damaged…read morethe socket. I've had the two lamps, end tables & a coffee table since I graduated from college & moved to Atlanta in '71. Now defunct Rich's Department Stores in Atlanta sold quality furniture. My purchases from them have made it through my young single life in Atlanta, 2 husbands, a child, our move to Coastal Virginia, widowhood & a grandson. I was devastated the lamp had been damaged. The good news was that my electrician was coming the next day & I was sure he could repair it. It turned out to not be the case. He did tell me there were places that performed repairs like my lamp needed on older products. How could he call my precious lamp old? (: The search immediately began. Greenbrier Lighting at Hilltop appeared to be the best option. I called & the pleasant person who answered confirmed that they could do the repair. The store closed at 5:30. So I jumped in the car (figuratively) & headed to the store. The location is in a standalone building shared with another store. The site is on the north side of Laskin Road, west of the First Colonial intersection & adjacent to La Promenade shopping center. The store is inviting with window displays that beckon one to enter. Parking is ample & the area is clean and well lit. The counter person remembered me from my frantic call for help. The repair would only require a new socket. She indicated that there was a lamp repairman working as we spoke. So it was possible I could have the lamp back by the next day. I kissed my lamp "goodbye for the moment" and started to peruse the offerings in the store, which were beautiful. An entire section of boxed lighting was on sale due to overstock. Beautiful overhead fans & lamps were available at good prices. Plus.....the lamp shade section was filled with different sizes. I knew I had to return when I had more time. Dusk had settled in & I don't see well to drive at night. True to their word, I received a VM the next day while in a doctor's office in Norfolk. There was not time to return before closing. Sigh.... Today I couldn't wait to retrieve my lamp. When I arrived at the store I was delighted with the repair. The lamp now looks terrific & has a socket that's UL approved. But the big surprise was the bill. They only charged $25. The gentleman who waited on me even carried the lamp to my car because he said it was heavy. I can't wait to return and shop the large selection of lighting products. My plan is to also bring an inherited lamp that I would like repaired. Greenbrier Lighting at Hilltop is a fabulous place, not just repairs but also lighting fixtures, lamps & shades. I highly recommend.

Worst customer service ever. Lady at the desk knows absolutely nothing about plumbing. Would never…read morerecommend to go in the store. Went back to my office and ordered everything directly from Ferguson.

TL;DR: Ferguson delivered the wrong size tiles for one of our bathroom floors. Despite admitting to…read moretheir mistake, they claimed due to it being a custom job nothing could be done. We had been pretty loyal customers at Ferguson for many years, while redoing my parent's beach house. This is to say, this isn't the review of a one-time dissatisfied customer, but one that just was done with the BS. On the last purchase, we bought many items to fully renovate several bathrooms. The contractor spoke with Nancy a few times, giving her specific measurements for the materials needed for the bathroom walls inside the shower/tub. The order was made in March and seven weeks later (late) the order arrives with an incorrect amount of materials needed to finish the job. There was specifically not enough for the bathroom accent wall and the corner trims. The contractor was forced to order elsewhere to get enough materials to finish the job. As a consequence, the project has been very delayed. I am extremely disappointed with the treatment, service, and lack of communication. We had to email more than once and call to get a response They couldn't give me back the time my family spent trying to figure out how to make this work out. Or the fact that we couldn't use the house for months because we were waiting for materials and then for the fix-up job. However, they COULD have sent us the right amount of materials. Or refunded our money. None of which they were willing to do. First, I would like to apologize for my delay in responding to your email. I have been overwhelmed this week and am just now catching up emails, phone calls, etc.. Eventually, in July, Nancy responded saying she "wanted someone to make sure the measurements were accurate" because what we ordered was "a special order which can't be returned. This is why the order was delayed originally." I honestly have no idea what that meant, since our contractor gave the right measurement, and what they sent just didn't match what was sent from us. She then says that "Someone should have contacted me to see what options were available before taking another course of action. I have no recourse because I can't return the product." I honestly don't know who this someone is, they should probably get their act together.
