My husband said excuse, we're looking to buy a washer and dryer. The guy said WHAT! I found that to be rude for a salesperson to say to a customer who is trying to inquirer about their products. I was ready to walk but my husband insisted that the prices were low enough and to let him handle it, so I did. The lady who also worked there was bilingual Spanish and English. She was courteous and tried to assist my daughter and I by answering our questions politely. We picked a washer and dryer. Then noticed the cord was missing to the dryer so we selected a different dryer. Note that there were stickers on the washers and dryers that listed basic specs. We ask about warranty. We were told that there would only be 1 year warranty but we could pay $150 3yr. extended warranty. I asked for a copy. The guy fiddled around and then began acting like he didn't understand so I explained that I wanted the warranty to the lady and then she translated to the guy. The guy had a little boy there who was about 7- or 8 and he was trying to translate speaking English very well. My husband again decides we will just pay for the items. I was uncomfortable and felt as if we should run because the business was coming across very shady and not legitimate (like scammers). We leave the store just before closing on a Friday night, 11/29/2024. When we get to my daughters' home before removing the dryer from our truck we noticed that the dryer is gas. The place where my daughter is staying doesn't have a gas hook up to install the dryer. We never unloaded the dryer. We took the dryer back to the store to exchange it for an electric dryer. The same guy was not nice and told us we could t exchange the dryer. He wasn't flexible at all. We were leaving the Virginia area to head back to New Jersey that same night and couldn't wait until Monday. The original packing was intact. He ended up calling a lady who spoke English. She told my husband that she would try to help with exchanging but it would have to wait until Monday. Then the guy said if we had come back to the store by 12noon Saturday he would have been able to help. Now he is making up the rules as he goes. It was 1:03pm when we arrived at the store. We are now stuck with this gas dryer. We still needed a dryer so we had to go buy one at a reputable business. The lower price ultimately cost us 3x's the price. Go to Lowes they were having a Black Friday sale and the service was professional and quick. Horrible Service, layers about warranties, unprofessional, and if you don't speak Spanish definitely don't go here because the short Sales guy is rude, not customer friendly and the business is all around shady.

I thought it would be a simple stop on the way home from the bakery. Not so! My bad back had been especially awful with the weather this week. So I searched for a handicapped parking space on the parking aisles near the entrance. To my surprise there were none. What I had thought were handicapped spots were for customer pickup. The only reason I can envision this parking choice is for the convenience of their employees, not their customers. Down the aisles I drove until I finally found handicapped parking. They were on an aisle near the exit. I walked to the exit door and found it wouldn't open. There was a checkout clerk nearby who wasn't busy. So I knocked on the door.....several times. He finally came & let me in. I told him there needed to be handicapped spaces near the entrance door. No reply. Why couldn't they at least let the exit doors open from the outside? The sign for Customer Service was far, actually near the entrance door. After waiting in line, I was really struggling. And it was obvious. When my turn came the young woman clerk looked at my box as if it were an aberration. She turned to what was obviously her supervisor so I said "I have the scan for the return on my phone." I had it opened & ready for her to ask for the entire time I was in the line. While she was processing the return I told her that there should be handicapped parking near the entrance door. No response. Was I invisible? After I had my return receipt I had to walk back to the exit to get to my vehicle. The whole experience was a nightmare. I hope I never have to return an item to that store again. The value of my having to pay return shipping would be worth not having to experience pain & poor customer service.

I guess my issue is more about their policy, not the customer service. I purchased this Project Source filter #5638704 and it says it replaces the LT800P but it will not screw in at all. The worst part is that Lowe's will not let me return and pay the difference for the OEM LG model because I tried to install it and they can't 'resell' it. How can I know if it works if I don't try it? Why would you want to resell something that doesn't work??? They seem to care about their profit much more than customer satisfaction! I promptly found the LG version on their shelf for twice and much and paid for it, just to make sure that the issue was the product and not my fridge - it worked fine of course! I was told to contact the manufacturer. I can't really blame the manufacturer because sometimes things just don't work right. But I bought it from Lowe's, so I would expect THEM to contact the manufacturer and make sure I leave satisfied. I went to BBB and learned that they are not accredited - and I can see why! I wonder how Home Depot would have handled this situation. I guess I may find out because that is where I will be spending my money from now on!

But lo and behold, February 24th gets here, and I receive a phone call (late in the evening) indicating my furniture wasn't ready, and to help me avoid having to pay separate delivery costs, I'd receive another call when my furniture set was complete. Expecting my wait time to only be a week or 2 counting snow and ice days, I didn't have a severe issue with it not being ready. It was just a little annoying that no one thought the situation through while I was at the store and asked for next day delivery. Being a new customer and how they readily accepted my choice of delivery date, I figured everything was already in stock at the warehouse..... But, long story short, for the next MONTH, I'd receive a random phone call with news of my furniture not being ready, and here it is APRIL 3, 2015, and I STILL HAVEN'T received my furniture! I haven't even received my weekly phone call yet! I've ordered merchandise from China that have gotten here quicker! It's as if AF has to manually design and custom build each piece of my furniture set instead of simply ordering and having it delivered! I must say I'm utterly flabbergasted at the time I've had to wait. This is absolutely ridiculous. I think the next place I should pay a visit to is NavyFed so I can be issued a refund. Hopefully, that won't take another MONTH.

The outside box was not damaged by any means 3. Which tells me that Home Depot repackaged a damaged fridge and sent it to my house. I talked to Home Depot support and said that they could have USPS pick up the unit at my house with timeframes ranging from 6am to 8pm. They said I could set the fridge on my porch and USPS can pick it up that way (so someone can steal it and I'm out my refund, no thanks) and then they said I could order another fridge but I would have to pay for it and I can't just SWITCH the fridge out. I said no thanks because I'm apprehensive that the same thing will happen. So I had to take my time, energy and money to drop off this damaged item I paid full price for. I go to the store take it back and process the refund. The next day I check my Home Depot account and realized I was DOUBLE charged for the fridge. $259.67 for fridge + extended warranty and 2 other separate charges - 1. For the fridge $222.59 and 2. $37.08 for the extended warranty independently. I called Home Depot support to tell them I have been double charged and they tell me it must be a glitch but they are processing a refund for the $222.58 and $37.08. I got a call about 10 hours later (20 minutes ago about) for the lady to argue with me on the phone saying that the reason I got called the $259.67 was when they ship the item, but it should have dropped off once I got the item and the $222.58 and $37.08 was the actual charge. BUT get this, she stands ten toes down that I wasn't charged TWICE but yet, she recommends I take it up with my BANK and that everything on their side was handled.. I'm absolutely done with Home Depot. I'm sick of these people wasting my time and doing the bare minimum.

Sub-Zero told us East Coast Appliance Builder Direct is NOT an authorized service provider for Sub-Zero, and the closest one to Virginia Beach was 100 miles away! We contacted Kitchen and Shower Expo and had them do the work, which entailed replacing the shower pan, some carpentry work, and retiling the bottom section of the walk in shower ($8k). Less than 2 years later, the grout around the drain for about a foot and a half is COMPLETELY gone, it sags a bit, a cut tile by the drain is broke, and now I see a brown spot developing on the ceiling directly below it, indicating a leak. I am a firm believer that crap happens... It just needs to be fixed. We contacted them, and while yes I understand it is out of the 1 year window, they refuse to fix their issue without almost $1000 payment. Fine... The contract says 1 year, they can do that, even though I feel it is a poor business practice not to see that this as something beyond the contract. As she said, "We have never seen damage that bad in such a short period of time." She says it's lack of maintenance, the 3 other companies that have see it in person say otherwise. Being that, I just want to make sure future customers see what COULD happen to them, and weigh the risks. Now, Star will probably come on here and say we didn't maintain it... The original shower had been here for 51 years, and other that your typical wear and tear, the grout was good condition. She's also going to point out a piece of tile that broke off in the corner of the shower, and insinuate it fell off the side trim because of lack of upkeep. That piece of tile was one of the pieces that broke off around the drain, NOT the side trim. I have inspected the wall trim... No piece is missing. They did a fine job along the wall. No complaints there. So, long story short, 51 years, grout was still good. Kitchen and Bath Expo replace it, and less than 2 years the shower itself is worse than it was before. Is this a one off situation? Maybe. It's up to you if you want to risk it.
