Both my wife and I supported and bought a few items, etc. So many food options. Fresh produce, meats, flowers, etc. Wineries here representing their vineyards also. All different kinds of merchandise for sale - Thrift items, to "dollar" store items, to custom made jewelry and leather pieces, etc. Ambiance - See all my pictures. This market is HUGE!! Way bigger than I expected. Maybe the biggest market we have been to since arriving in France. Public toilets nearby, my first discovery. I felt like a kid trying to figure it out. FYI - The toilet cleans itself after each use, so be patient. Oh, and I can NOT recommend the urinal... Service - Good. They are here to sell. Price - From inexpensive to expensive. Depends on what you buy, eat, or drink. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success.

My swan song from a disappointing trip in the bird department. Off the eye test, it doesn't get much better. The beautiful sight of tissi's rotating in front of a fire breathing oven, potatoes in the tray below collecting the chicken juices as they fell, had me ready to run around the Bastille plaza yelling "LE MOUVEMENT!!". I thought this was going to be my first high level bird in the City of Light. Much to my chagrin, the one I got was just lukewarm. I was ready for my fingerprints to be fully burned off. There was so much potential here, but as always, I have to judge what's in front of me. If I don't have my integrity I have nothing. It landed at an 8.1/10 on the restaurant scale which is good, but if it was hot it could have been up there with the greats in the rare 9 territory. Unrealized potential is one of the most depressing things in the world. IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

We'd…read moreoften visit supermarkets on family vacations, and this is a tradition I carry on to this day. I was pretty excited to see a huge Auchan supermarket near my hotel during a trip to Disneyland Paris! This place is foodie heaven. Just wandering the aisles and looking at all the gorgeous fresh fish, cool European beauty products, colorful produce and more makes this places a feast for the eyes as well as the tummy. As you'd expect in France, the champagne, cheese and bakery sections of the store are absolutely first class. No, make that WORLD CLASS. The in-store bakery churns out fresh baguettes (four different kinds, who knew there were different baking styles and dough in plain baguettes). I couldn't decide which one to buy so I picked up two different ones that seemed to be the most popular with the locals, each priced at around 90 cents. There were plenty of prepackaged yet freshly baked pastries, croissants, fruit danishes and more (great for an early morning breakfast before hitting Disneyland park)! The cheese section will make dairy lovers weep tears of joy, so many fresh, unpasteurized French cheeses. It was hard to choose just a few! (And don't miss the fresh French yogurt or butter, it's among the best on Earth)! We picked up some fresh butter to go on our baguettes to take on the train with us (along with a cheap bottle of Bordeaux) and it was seriously one of the best snacks I've ever eaten. The champagne is showcased on several long aisles and you'll find some amazing deals here if you're willing to experiment. You won't find bargains on the big name brands with their snooty pedigrees, but take a chance on that $18 bottle and you will be handsomely rewarded. There were plenty of champagnes -- yes, real French champagne -- in the $3 (!!) to $25 range. For fun, we bought a cheap bottle and a super cheap bottle as well as a $2 Bordeaux and an $18 Bordeaux. I am a wine snob but I can honestly tell you that every single one of those wines was delicious. When in France, there's no reason not to drink the local vino and with prices like that, you can't blame your lack of budget! That's CHEAPER THAN DRINKING SODA! Since our hotel had a cute little kitchenette, we bought a wide variety of snacks to have on hand. We even had an appetizer dinner in our room one night with a bunch of nibbles and local wine. We bought some sliced meats, a couple of packaged salads, homemade fried potato crisps, brie, fresh butter, baguettes, cookies, and more and spent less than $50 U.S. I don't shop and eat at local supermarkets to save money, I do it out for the sheer joy of eating and perusing grocery stores. Plus, you can learn much about the local culture by shopping where the locals shop and observing what they buy as well as what the stores sell. It's fascinating, free to look, and a ton of fun. Warning: the checkout lines aren't for the faint of heart. French people can come across as aloof and unfriendly when it's just their general demeanor, but you can avoid some unpleasantries by having your money and your groceries ready to put on the belt as soon as it's your turn -- or get ready to hear a stern lecture in French! Expect the person in line behind you to start crowding your personal space too. Be prepared and you won't get flustered. This market is located inside the large, modern Val d'Europe shopping mall. You have to go into the mall and down to the back lower level to access the supermarket. The mall is a quick walk from the local Val d'Europe train station and just a couple of minutes away by train from the main Disneyland Paris train station. The store is open until 9:30 pm on weekdays and Saturday (7 pm on Sunday), which is pretty late for France.

I stayed in Serris for my trip to Disneyland Paris and this was the best and convenient place to buy food and drinks for the duration of my trip. It definitely beats paying the higher prices at Disneyland! There were self checkout machines if you have a few items and are in a hurry. However since I was using a foreign credit card, I thought it would be best to pay for my stuff via a live cashier which was quick and painless. I will definitely shop here again if I'm back in this area. I'm thinking shoplifting might be an issue as there were anti-theft detectors as well as security guard posted at all entry and exit points.

Sens is a pretty quiet, pretty normal mid-sized town. It has its charme and a very nice cathedral, but besides that pretty normal. Also this place looks like just a regular fishmonger / seafood restaurant at a street corner. But the quality, the selection of this place is amazing, outstanding. All kinds of fish and seafood. You can just buy some to cook at home or you can choose from a menu to enjoy at its own restaurant. Also what you can do is choose whatever you like for a nice seafood platter. That's exactly what we did. It was almost closing time for the restaurant - even though the shop stays open after that. But we still got served our lunch. We had a table outside, our Bulldog was welcome as well. Staff was very friendly. Got us a complementary dip and some bread during our wait. But soon we got served our seafood platter of our choice: Crab, langoustines, shrimp and half a dozen of two kinds of oysters. Every single piece was a piece of excellence. Freshness and quality: All perfect and top-notch. Crab with hug claws, lots of sweet, tender and tasty meat. Wonderful flavours. The oysters were divine as well. The shrimps had a great size, so did the langoustines. And also here: cooked perfectly with the best and sweetest seafood flavours. Had a bottle of nice white wine with. Matched the meal perfectly. It isn't cheap though. Paid well over 100 Euros (wine and seafood platter), but it's a good price, it's a fair price. It's definitely worth it - if you love quality seafood, then this here is THE place. We will definitely be back next time in France. Highly recommended.

2 of 2 Yelp reviews…read more Quality/Quantity - I really enjoy hanging out with the locals when I travel. To see what the locals eat, drink, do, etc. Decent size market, both indoors and outdoors. Not sure what the relationship is between the Aligre Market and Beauvau Covered Market, but because they are literally next to each other. I feel they were the same/similar market. So this review will reflect that. The products/produce are so fresh and flavorful. Ripe. Meats, seafood, flowers, etc. Everything is so fresh. There is even a "thrift" shop market here?!?! Ambiance - Decent size, both indoor and outdoor. Again, I am connecting the two markets. Service - Good. Price - Reasonable. Expect farmers market prices. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success.

I especially loved the prepared meat in the stall near the entrance (they have many prepared items to choose from--I ended up loving the duck foie gras and duck rillette). Also, people were helpful and willing to deal with my poor French :) As another reviewer mentioned, there aren't many (perhaps any) ready-to-way meals. But I wasn't looking for that, and I found the quality to be fantastic.
