None of those places could match A&S, who were basically giving me the market rate for Australian currency. The rate for New Zealand currency was also very competitive. On top of that, there were absolutely no fees! In addition, most of the other currency exchanges did not have enough of Australian and New Zealand dollars on hand, whereas A&S had plenty. I couldn't make it in time on the day I called for the quote, but came in the next day and the rate remained the same. The A&S place opens at 11AM and the worker arrived on time. They require showing ID and accept cash only. The person behind the window was meticulous with counting out the money. He was also knowledgeable about different methods of payment countries accept. As we continued the transaction, he became more friendly and welcoming, sharing about his experience visiting Australia many years ago. (So for example, they regard a £2 coin as equal to £1, and then convert that value to whatever currency you select.) This policy is absurd, as in British currency the smallest note value is £5--there isn't a way to avoid receiving coins when breaking notes for £1 and £2 denominations as bank notes for these values do not exist. Yelpers, please be forewarned about this policy if you plan to exchange GBP.

But once they have your money, that's where the professionalism ends. You won't hear from anyone again, and your case will sit untouched. I finally asked for a refund, and still haven't received it. This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I've ever had with a business. They took my money, wasted my time, and gave me nothing in return. Update 11/26/2025 I spoke to Charles on 11/10 and he gave me a fedex tracking number and told me I would receive my refund in two days. Two weeks and no refund. I had to go up to his office today, the day before Thanksgiving and DEMAND my refund. He kept blaming the delay on his "accountant". HE IS SCAMMER !!! DO NOT HIRE HIS OFFICE TO DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. I am also reporting him to the BBB and the AGC.
