After being a loyal Progressive customer for six years and insuring all of my vehicles with them, I had one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've ever encountered. When I filed a claim after my vehicle was totaled, the claims representative initially told me my claim would be covered. I relied on that information, only to later receive a letter denying coverage. My issue isn't simply that the claim was denied--I understand coverage decisions are based on the policy. My issue is the inaccurate and inconsistent communication I received throughout the process. I escalated my concerns to management, hoping someone would acknowledge the communication failure. Instead, the manager focused solely on defending the policy decision and completely ignored the fact that I had been given conflicting information from the beginning. After six years as a customer with four insured vehicles, I expected honesty, accountability, and professionalism. Instead, I was left feeling dismissed and undervalued. As a result, I canceled all of my Progressive policies and moved my business elsewhere. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Progressive. read more

Do not use Progressive Auto Insurance for your vehicles. They are overpriced due to covering the cost of their many commercials. They charged me $178 per month for a sale driver and wouldn't listen to my phone calls trying to lower my costs. I switched to Geico auto insurance and now pay $102 per month for the same coverage. Having said that I can't find the corporate so I'm going to have to use this particular agent it is not a reflection on the agent, rather, on progressive as a whole. They are absolutely the worst company to go with you could literally be self-insured and be better off. While they may pay a claim, I will give them that their customer service is beyond deplorable. I'm not the best with IT and I literally had one laughing at me because I was getting agitated that she could not send a fax. I'm older as dirt and I know how to send a fax, and somehow it was comical that I'm waiting on this form that I had to sign. And she could not utilize the fax machine in her own office. And I was trying to explain why I was getting frustrated and she was laughing because somehow this was comical. I wish this was the exception, but at every interval they're all about taking your money and giving absolute zero customer service at every turn. If you want honest affordable insurance . Move on, progressive is by far the worst insurance ever. They lie and make up information as they go. I called July 22 for them not to renew my car insurance, however I got busy with life called back July 24 and changed my mind. I was told that was okay , it had only been 2 days . My insurance was set to renew August 2nd, and I was fine. They got my debit information along with my bank account information. On August 2nd and 3rd I noticed the monies were not deducted from my account. I called and was told because it lapped I was gonna have to pay a late fee plus and additional $39 a month. But the person with progressive gave me the wrong information and they didn't debit my account . Once you called to cancel and I called back in 2 days , I was to called and make a payment, and that my bank reversed the payment . Not knowing I was able to verify this lie with my bank ..So not only was I told the wrong information but the supervisor was extremely passive aggressive.. this insurance company is the worst .. btw my driving record is impeccable, not 1 ticket or accident ever , and I'm 58 years young .. horrible experience and insurance, shop around if you must ..they'll tell you just what you wanna hear to get you money and business read more

I give 0 stars, I'm not the only one that doesn't like Progressive as a company. I've heard a few people that I know that want to change insurance companies. They change the rates whenever they want to and don't consider their customers. When I first started with Progressive which the name says it all I talked to a nice man named Ronnie who seem to have disappeared after he gave me a quote in which kept going up every time I talked to a new representative. I see why they get letters from lawyers I had a policy for 2 vehicles and was paying under $200 and just because I had a lapse in coverage for literally a week they gave me a quote of double the price for a vehicle that was previously insured. They need to be called out and people need to know they are a scam of a company and not helping their customers one bit. read more

I have encountered an issue with them and I found out that they take your premiums every month and don't do professional services until an accident occurs and you are not the driver and try to get out of paying for car. GO WITH FLO For those times when your ride gets rammed and you need a damage estimate, these guys'll take care of you. Two weeks ago, my rebel cruiser got rear-ended by some lady (who I'm almost positive was TWD - texting while driving). Her insurance provider was Progressive and liability would be covering 100% of my sh*t that got broken, so I came here to speak with someone. I walked in a bit early before my appointed time and was taken care of by a claims adjuster. She surveyed my car and wrote up what in her/their opinion was reasonable compensation. The lobby area was clean and well-lit, and they offered water/coffee while you waited. Eventually I got a check to cover the costs of repair, which seemed fair at the time, although the body shop laughed (not at me, but at the insurance agent's assessment that a metal trunk lid could be 'fixed' instead of replaced outright). Someone had to be sent out to re-evaluate my car but it was quickly resolved. 'Flo' wasn't in at the time, which saddened me slightly since she's my 2nd-favorite car insurance spokesperson. The Geico gecko is kind of annoying at this point, Dennis Haysbert has since retired his role (briefly taken over by the hilarious Mayhem dude), and J.K. Simmons for Farmers is.....well, J.K. Simmons, i.e. not as cute as Stephanie Courtney. A good experience overall, and although I didn't have much choice in the matter, I'd still recommend this Progressive claims center read more

Absolute trash. There roadside assisance and customer service is a joke. I called every single number i could find and everytime it said i was going to speak with an agent it hung up on me. I needed to update the destination of where i wanted my car towed to because they took so long it closed and i found one other place that would take me and the tow truck driver hung up on me before i could say anything. read more

Ended up here after a resulting fender bender. These guys run a really efficient shop and I wanted for nothing. Everything was easy, the drop off, the rental, the bodywork, the detail, the pickup. This place tarnishes the good name of Progressive Insurance by being so disorganizing and unprofessional. It is the ultimate annoyance and hassle to do business here. My van was hit in the right front area, damaging the headlight. It was not my fault as a lady from California thought she could turn left on a one way street from the middle lane. The male appraiser made me feel like a bad guy expounding the notion that everything I pointed too was from a previous accident, basically insinuating... I was a liar. I received five (5) different totals as to what the charges would be. Seriously annoying that they could not provide me with a final total and be correct. It came to a measly $208 and my headlight was aimed downwards and still not right. I'd like to have a better experience but I can not in good faith say any good about this claim center. NOTHING! I pay for roadside assistance. I was stranded for four hours and forty five minutes waiting because I had a flat tire. I was lied to when I asked for a supervisor, being told that they were on a phone call. I waited on the line for forty five minutes before hanging up. When I told the agent that I needed help after waiting two hours, she told me to call the police. Don't use progressive- horrible insurance. When I was in an accident the agent made me wait two weeks before calling me back. And she only called me back after I threatened to speak to another agent since she wasn't helping me. I'd give 5 stars for Progressive as a whole. But this service center, and my agent there specifically, were useless. I got a bill for the ambulance involved in the crash. Sent him the bill and he said he'd take care of it. 30 days later got the same bill; sent it to him, he said he'd take care of it. 30 days later got a collection notice, sent it to him, he said he'd take care of it. 30 days later finally was able to get an answer from him: "Ask your health insurance." That would have been nice to know 3 months ago, before it went to collections, and before I risked having my possessions seized. There were multiple calls and emails in between each 30 day period. Overall, a total of: 5 emails sent to him, 0 replies received. 7 calls, most went to his voicemail. He returned 1 voicemail. Out of the 3 times I was actually able to talk to him on the phone, and he promised to follow up and call me again, he called me 0 times. read more

Horrible customer service and they love to mess with you. So I brought my car in to fix a broken mirror, never bringing my vehicle back here. I drop my car off first they tell me the car isn't starting (even though it's had no problems starting) and when I told them I was a mechanic the car magically could start again. Anyway I called and put in my notes to not work on the car until they called and gave me an estimate but apparently they can't read there and they fixed it anyway. I finally go to pick up my car only to find a chip in the other mirror that wasn't there before, they said they'd e-mail me the picture can't just show me them today? Nice facility. Relatively nice people. That's about where this review ends on a positive note. My small SUV was hit in the front end by one of their insured's. I had to traipse 45 minutes each way, as this is their only facility in about a 30 mile range for a city as large as Chicago. I had to make this drive FOUR times, back and forth, 8 times in total. My Rav4 was repaired fairly nicely. I used to do paint and body work 30+ years ago. However, the wheel well and underbody clips were simply not installed correctly - most likely because the plastic wheel wells were damaged and Progressive simply ignored replacing to save money. They just replaced and repainted the nose. That was 2 years ago. Then 18 months ago, the paint started to peel. Badly. So, I had to take the vehicle back. They immediately started to blame me, perhaps I had been in another accident and was blaming them? No. A quick check at the DMV could have verified that easily. They repainted the Rav and I was again ok with the work. Then about 8 months ago the paint started peeling AGAIN. I brought it back, they repainted and here I am. This time they replaced the plastic framing holding the front nose in place. Hopefully my vehicle is repaired correctly this time. I calculated about 10 hours of driving back and forth just to get this simple repair handled. read more

I spoke with a customer care representative and was told it would be a lot more convenient. The customer service was great and friendly. That was until I dropped my car off. I had to deal with someone who was completely unprofessional and argumentative. I live and work in Chicago. These guys sent my gorgeous SAAB to a fly-by-night bodyshop more than an hour from Chicago who tendered an incredibly poorly written estimate guaranteed to total out the vehicle. Never allow these people to take possession of your vehicle, always ensure that it is transported to a location you control (I.E. home garage or a trusted auto repair shop). read more

Progressive needs to screen their staff a bit better. Service centers are still representations of the Progressive brand, and this center is giving them a bad name. My friend dropped off a car a couple of weeks ago, only to have it returned with a broken seat and an old bag of food left in it. The damage, and old food, were clearly done while under their care. Upon hearing of the issue, Mike (a Progressive representative) did nothing but deny everything, offering no options or help. I was rear ended by a person that they insured. And I had agreed upon them fixing my vehicle, he told me if I brought my vehicle to them that they would fix it and put it back to the way it that it was. Needless to say that did not happen. When I first went back to get my vehicle after they claim it had been fixed, it was a different color and my trunk still do not open properly. They then tried to tell me that is the closet color that they could find to match my car. ............. I had my car in the shop last month after being rear-ended. My experience was very good. Though i can't say for sure with less to gauge against, i believe the quote was fair. They fixed a couple of other issues I requested as well. All repairs are problem free so far. They also cleaned both interior and exterior, which I appreciate.
