I went to Prokart with a large group of people on a Thursday night. There was no one else at primary when we arrived so we all signed waivers and got ready to race. The indoor track was a good size and the employees got us racing right away. The race lasted 8 minutes and this may seem short but it was plenty of time for all of us. If I could give this place zero stars I would. The staff are rude and don't care about the customers at all, especially their safety. Most of the "people" that race here act like they are playing Mario Kart or Bumper Cars. No one gets in trouble for purposely trying to hit other karts or run them into the edge of the track. When you try to talk to one of the employees about it, they say and I quote, "get over it, that's how you race". I would never go back here and never recommend this place to anyone. Also, during my 3rd race, there were way too many karts out. They are only supposed to use 1 row of karts and they had both rows going at the same time. read more

Our 1st time visiting here and there was a rare power outage. The place was pitch black but the cars where gas powered so it didn't stop us. The only downfall was the restroom was so dark I couldn't see a thing, thank god for the iphone screen light! The kids that work there are very nice and professional. It was a slow day so we had the track to ourselves and got to learn the lines. They let us run as long as we wanted until they could tell we where getting tired. We loved the fact the track is half indoors and half outdoors which is pretty rare to find and keeps you on your toes. We signed up for a membership and plan to be back soon so we can race with the lights on! read more

***Review #100*** What an obscure location - good thing phones have GPS now-a-days. We arrived around 8pm on a Friday night, not sure what to expect, we called ahead to see if it was busy. It was completely not busy and we were able to get our first race just minutes after arriving. Be sure to bring closed toe shoes - it is stated very clearly before you enter the building that they are required. I didn't even think of such a thing and had to run back to Target a few miles away to get some shoes. We purchased our race at the counter on the right, filled out our waivers, and headed back to pick out a helmet, per the gal at the counter. I have a giant head and was pleased to see there were many sized of helmets, no need to wear something too small causing a headache. This was my first time ever driving any sort of go-kart or motorized vehicle (besides a car/truck) and it was fairly intimidating. The karts are very fast and corner tightly but required a surprising amount of muscle to make the steering wheel turn. One 8 minute race was enough for my first time, I was tired after. It took a few laps to get used to the go-kart, how it turned, accelerated, braked and how the lines of the track flowed best. After a few laps I gained my confidence and was able to slide and turn the corners more tightly. Admittedly, I was lapped a couple times by some speed demon (and clearly veteran) boys. This did not bother me at all though. After the race you get a print out of your lap times so you can compare and brag (or not) to your friends. Somehow the guys running the race know/remember which car you were in and they give you the right slip (I didn't know which one I was in, so its a good thing). I left feeling exhilarated. Driving a regular car felt very weird, the steering felt loose and it was very hard not to speed. You also leave smelling like gasoline, so don't wear nice clothes. Also, ladies, don't worry about your hair, it will get messed up in the helmets...and you will get very hot, too. The track is indoor and outdoor, but it was raining so we only got to partake in the indoor part. I want to experience the entire track, so we will head back someday soon. read more

If you find yourself bored by the speed limits on the road, or like me spent too much on your SUV to be able to drive the way you really want to, let Prokart be your release. Dirty finger nails. Gasoline smell. Funny hats. All are easily managed and forgotten once you get in the seat of these bad little machines. You'll find yourself bumping, speeding, and willing to do most anything to pass the random person who dared to step out on that track with you. This place is a perfect release for the winter blues or even better in the summer where they open the indoor/outdoor track for max speed. Be prepared to sign your life away on a waiver, but its a small price to pay to be able to drive like you dream about during your long, bumper-to-bumper commutes. read more

A well-run, friendly go-karting location in the Twin Cities! While the location is a bit out there north of Maple Grove, it's worth the drive for indoor go-kart enthusiasts. As a first-time go-karter I was very impressed with how easy it was to get signed up, paid for and on the track in just a few minutes. ProKart provides you with helmets and hair stockings so just be sure to wear close-toed shoes and long pants and you're set. Once you're on the track it will take you a few laps to get used to driving a go-kart, but it's suggested you push your limits a bit and try things out. It's fun to explore how fast you can speed around the corners. It's really fun to let go and follow your instinct a bit when you're driving. Because we were there during a slower time, we had the track sort of to our small group. For parents this place is a dream! There is soda, pizza and video games for your to enjoy during breaks between races. I can totally imagine taking a group of kids here for a few hours of fun! Also this place would be really fun for a work outing!! A tip those those of you heading to ProKart...check the deal websites including checking-in using Yelp! This place is amazing! Really nice staff and a professional atmosphere. The go-karts are fast too. These are not your Disney style put-puts. They are low slung and hit 35 mph on a challenging course. It gets the adrenaline pumping and works you out. I will be going back often. read more

Rude employees. I was here with my fiancee for a first time race and ended up getting yelled at and treated like a child when I wasn't doing anything out of line. I guess the employee was angry with a different kid racing, but took it out on everyone else and used inappropriate language to 'correct' us. Not coming back any time soon, if ever. read more

This is not my first time at pro kart, but it will be my last. Here is the run down of my night. We were initially told that a group had the place reserved from 7-8, so we should come after. We arrived at 8, only to find that the group had just arrived. We waited an hour. We brought our 13 year old who has limited experience with go karts. We told this to the staff. They decided to put 9 men and my son out on the track at the same time. Poor decision, as people were crashing all over the place. My 13 year old crashed hard and his braces cut up his mouth a bit from the helmet, but he was ok and we talked to the staff who agreed that 10 karts was too many and they were going to do groups of 5 moving forward. We waited about a half hour for the 2nd race (we bought 3) only to find out from the lady (Kyle) working the desk that the staff decided that my son could not drive anymore. She had thought the staff had come to tell us this already, which they had not. I approached a staff working the track to give some feedback, as my son was upset and it was a frustrating experience. I am a petite woman, and Parker got in my face, told me to "watch my kid better" and shrugged his shoulders when I said I would have appreciated for the staff to have come tell us their decision. He said to me (repeatedly) "you signed the f*cking waiver." To be clear, we were not upset with the decision to pull my son from the track (it's their track and ultimately their decision) but we were upset about the lack of management, poor customer service skills, lack of communication, and aggressiveness of Parker in particular. Kyle was working the desk and could not have been any nicer. The men at this shop clearly need to work on their attitudes. It was a disgusting experience. I have left a message with management, and I hope they can change some things around. read more

Worst customer service ever. This was supposed to be a work outing for my employees, and my brother's first go cart experience. We went as a group of 6, and bought 3 races each. Once we were on the track, on the second lap, the kid in front of my brother slammed on his brakes and my brother crashed into the wall. An employee, "Track Marshall" Andy, not only didn't ask if he was ok- but cussed at my 6 person party, telling us we drive like "***holes", he won't tolerate our "s**t", and planned to kick us off the course if it continued. I explained to him that my brother was new to it, and that nobody had explained the curves and how to handle them until he crashed, and was told again not to drive like an "***hole". I asked to leave the course and be refunded and was pointed out the door. The girl behind the counter was sweet and understanding, and told me that Andy behaves this way often. Since Andy was the only one who could refund me, I had to wait for him to finish a phone call and goof off with his friends before he would come up to the counter. When he finally did, he charged me a second time instead of refunding me, which I didn't discover until last night. Called and asked for it to be fixed, was promised a call back, never heard from anyone. Had to get my bank involved. My entire party ended up requesting refunds as well- and Andy never once apologized for his language. Apparently he isn't even the owner. Just a kid who is chasing away adult business. I guess there's always the Burnsville location. read more

Not a great experience... Immature kids left in charge who hardly go over the rules or explain the course and use crude language. Had potential to be tons of fun, but it was just not worth it with the people that work there.... Hated it and won't be back. Really disrespectful. Actually really was looking forward to it, too. Little children run the place, so rude can't get a answer from them... Hours say they close at 11pm but they were rude and said they are closing at 10:30 tonight because "they had stuff to do" we still had 30 mins to do 2 races that are only 9 minutes long. Endie a guy that works there was very rude and was cussing at my friends just because they were disappointed that we couldn't finish are last race when we had 30 minutes left!! This was my 2nd time coming there and Endie had the same attitude as last time rude,mean,very cocky, using cuss words that wasn't needed... Very unhappy with there customer service! Can't get a refund without there manager not being there... Have to wait a week or so until he returns from wherever... read more

We decided out of the blue that we wanted to try this place. I called to make sure of their prices/hours and the man that answered the phone was very direct and short with me, and not friendly at all. Still, we decided to go. Upon arrival, the place was very clean and professional-looking. Until a man approached us again, very direct and short, and let us know that "you have to have tennis shoes to ride." Not a hello, or any kind of welcome at that. He pretty much was telling us to leave as soon as we walked through the door. My husband and I said okay and left, even though we had extra shoes in the car. They were unfriendly, unwelcoming and made no effort at customer service. I'm sure the track is nice, and the short amount of time we were in the facility and not getting rushed out was nice. However, until ALL of their staff knows how to give adequate customer service, and not treat their patrons as trespassers, I will not recommend this place to anybody. read more
