I am updating my original review because what initially appeared to be a good installation turned…read moreinto a significant legal and financial problem. The fence looked clean and professionally installed at first. However, we were later notified by the City of Fernandina Beach that the fence had been installed without the required permit. A survey conducted after installation confirmed that portions of the fence were built over our neighbor's property line. We had provided the installer with a proper survey prior to installation. Despite that, the fence was installed incorrectly and without city approval. The garbage enclosure portion of the project was also installed improperly. Only one door shaft/support was installed on one side, preventing the enclosure door from securing properly. Because the door would not stay in place, it was damaged by the garbage truck. This was a direct result of improper installation. Our written contract includes a lifetime warranty. Once these issues surfaced: We contacted the company multiple times via phone, email, and text. The City contacted them directly regarding the permit and compliance violations. No corrective action was taken. No one returned to address the fence placement issue. No one returned to repair the garbage enclosure. The lifetime warranty has not been honored. We have since learned that the company is not licensed in Fernandina Beach, despite advertising the area on their website as part of their service region. Because of the unpermitted and improperly installed work, we are now required to: Remove the fence. Apply for proper permits. Reinstall the fence inside our property line and in compliance with city code. Repair or replace the damaged garbage enclosure. This situation could have been entirely avoided had proper permitting, survey verification, and basic installation standards been followed. If you hire this company, confirm in writing: That required permits will be pulled before work begins. That they are properly licensed in your municipality. That installation will strictly follow the survey. That warranty obligations will actually be fulfilled. A fence that looks good is meaningless if it is unpermitted, improperly placed, and unsupported by the warranty promised in the contract.
