I've gone here multiple times before and never had a problem. This time, I get there and they tell me I have to reschedule. Why couldn't they call me? I can't really say, "I'm a fan" of this test-taking center because who likes taking tests? Not I. They run a tight ship here. Be sure to read your admission ticket print out carefully so you'll know what, and what not to bring. Here are just a few examples: They have mini lockers, so you can bring your purses, phones, watches, and jackets. You get to keep the key on your desk along with your photo ID. That's all you can bring in to the room where your cubical is assigned to you. If you wear a jacket or sweater, you MUST keep it on. You are NOT allowed to take anything off. Your pockets must be empty. They may ask you to turn them inside out. No tissues. They will give you two if you ask beforehand. They will scan you with a metal detecting wand. They will take your photo. If you need a break (I didn't take one), the timer for your test will not stop. They will supply you with two pencils and scratch paper that needs to be turned in when you are done. If you are taking a math test, then you need to bring your own calculator, but they will check to see that the memory is cleared. All in all, it isn't a bad place to take a mandated test. There is a public parking garage right next to the building which is free on Saturdays. The employees are pleasant enough. The temperature of the testing room (in May) was comfortable. I did have some chick behind me banging on the keyboard pretty loudly, but after a while I think I tuned her out. I did have headphones that I used for part of my exam that I probably could of worn to block out some of the noise she was making. I hope I never have to take this kind of exam again, but if I do, then I'd come here, and not just because Tout de Sweet is a mere two blocks away. read more

I took my first medical board exam here on July 11. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to separate those who have to type (ex. those taking essay-based exams), from those who do not have essays on their tests; simply because the noise of typing on desktops is pretty loud in an otherwise silent room. Another way to address this would be to warn all students to bring their earplugs in if they'll be in the room with people who are typing. While I did get surprised in the middle of one of my test sections with some loud typing, I otherwise could not have asked for a better test day experience. Primarily, I didn't realize what a huge difference it makes to have test center staff be at their best on a day when I was (pretty much) at my worst. Upon entering the test center, I was extremely nervous and was having trouble following the (extremely simple) instructions of the person responsible for checking everyone in. Fortunately, this person, Sunny, was very kind and patient. He told me I could eat my breakfast in the back of the foyer, which had a table near a window. This was helpful because I was able to separate myself from the other test takers, eat my breakfast, and calm down. After that, I felt a lot better, got checked-in properly, and began my test on time. Everything from there went very smoothly. Checking into prometric test rooms is an arduous process, you have to use your thumbprint and get swiped with a metal detector. Fortunately, the center is small and the staff works quickly. I was third in line to check into the test room, and I was waiting for my turn for less than 10 minutes. The amenities in this prometric center are great. The bathrooms are clean and close to the testing room. The temperature in the testing room itself is comfortable as well. The woman (unfortunately I didn't catch her name) responsible for checking me into and out of the test center during my break times was great at getting me in and out quickly. She clearly cared about getting me back to my seat as fast as possible. This was a relief to me because I was on the clock and had a limited amount of time for breaks. She also would have the sign-out book open to my page before I had even left the room. I was impressed that she took the time to learn my name, and also that she noticed and took action as soon as I got out of my chair, all to save me time on my break. I know I certainly would have zoned out, and I really appreciated her attention to detail. Overall, I was very happy with my test day experience, and it is important to me that the staff here knows that they are doing a great job. Thanks again! read more

Having to pay for parking is crazy at a prometric center! Cost me like 7 bucks for a 7 hour test which is not bad but it's just annoying. Was also a little hard to find parking since there are a bunch of construction workers using that parking garage. You're also supposed to bring quarters?!?! Thank goodness this is the 21 century and you can download an app and scan the QR code on the meter. The only thing is they charge a $20 pre wallet which is annoying. End parking description. I wrote my life producer exam at this center over a month ago. immediately i finished, i requested for my score sheet and the attendant told me that the center would email me the score, and up till this moment i have not received it. I check my email everyday all to no avail. I even called the center, and the attendant said, they are not the one producing the text result. worst center ever! read more

Let's just say I researched this place and actually drove here on a dry run, which tipped me off about the parking. I brought a $10 roll of quarters which was more than enough for 7 hours. I also HIGHLY recommend eating a very light lunch in your car (powerbar, bottle of water and half a cheese sandwich were plenty for me) and then getting right back to it on the longer tests - but I digress... The place is very professional, friendly staff, and do yourself a favor and research their policies on what you can't bring well ahead of time so it's not even an issue on test day. Due to its location, the place is generally pretty full of stressed out looking people -- some of whom kind of are taking up a lot of the staff's time. I can only imagine a lot of them are taking the MCAT or Boards. Get in, get out, and don't talk to anyone except the test center staff until after you get your shit done. As someone who aces standardized tests, I feel that fear and bad vibes are contagious. Test centers are the one place you pretty much want to ignore everyone and everything around you and focus. As far as proctored testing locations Prometric is good. Tight on regulations for everything from jewelry to bathroom breaks to sign-ins. You will be wanded before entering the test room and videotaped during your test. Prometric would be five stars if they validated parking. read more

Exams REALLY suck, especially when you're taking test numero cinco like yours truly... Buuut I know you guys aren't going to screw up as much as I have, sooo... Let's focus on you. This is (hopefully) everything you wish someone would have told you before taking your exam. Before the exam: - There is a metered parking garage connected to the building. Look for the large blue public parking sign. There is an entrance on Woodmont Ave, and a second one on Rugby Ave. - Weekdays: Either bring quarters or you can pay by phone (not sure how it works, just follow the instructions on the meter). - Weekends: Park for free! - Exit from the Woodmont Ave entrance, and building 8120 is directly to your right. - Enter the building and take the elevators on your right up to the fifth floor to suite 510 (you will see a green Prometric sign). Signing in: - I usually arrive 45 minutes early and they immediately signed me in. But due to the volume of test takers on one of the days, it actually took 30 minutes between signing me in and getting me seated to start the exam. - They provide one locker per person. Make sure all of your stuff can fit in a ~1 ft. by ~1 ft. and ~1 ft. deep compartment. - The only things you can bring into your testing station are your ID and foam earplugs. No watches. - Alternatively, you can request foam earplugs from them (those bright orange ones). They also have bulky headset-looking ones, but I would pass on them. - Depending on your exam, they may or may not allow you to bring a calculator. Make sure you read your exam's specifications! - When I was waiting to sign in, a guy asked if the testing center provided calculators. They did, but unfortunately for his exam he had to provide his own. So make sure you know your exam's specific rules. - I can't stress it enough: Prometric doesn't make the rules, they just enforce them! For example, my exam requires a paper copy of the test confirmation. One of my friends had to forfeit her exam because she didn't have a paper copy and they wouldn't let her use their printer. During the exam - Once you enter the testing room, you cannot take anything off, so be sure to dress comfortably. I was in a long sleeve shirt and shorts and felt fine. - The staff is nice. Regardless of when your designated breaks are, the staff will allow you to take a bathroom break. Just make sure to come out with your ID and sign out. - For my exam, I am provided with 2 double-sided laminated pages and 2 washable markers (I saw some exams getting booklets and others plain white paper). Even if you're not taking an exam that requires calculations, it really helps to be able to write down the multiple choice options (A, B, C, D, etc) and then cross out the ones you know are wrong. When the answers are a couple of sentences, you don't really have the luxury to reread each one on the computer when you forget which ones you've eliminated. - Do NOT start writing on anything until you have actually started the exam on the computer screen. It is considered cheating otherwise and you will be asked to forfeit your exam! - Keep in mind: If you run out of the paper/markers, they'll take away your previous ones. - Each test station is sectioned off into cubicles, so you won't be distracted by others taking the exam. Finally... These computers are slow... Click once, let it *think* (which I'm guessing is when the person shoveling the coal into the computer takes a breather), and a couple of seconds later it should go to your next screen. No matter what, just know that you will do well! Stay confident and good luck! read more

My experience here was a very positive one! It's just a block from the NIH, and there's public parking next door. Suite 510 is very small compared to other testing sites I've been to, but I actually liked that! It meant I didn't have to walk a mile to get to the nearest bathroom -- and that counts for a lot when the test clock is running! Here are the things I liked about this testing location: - Staff were friendly and efficient with check in/out. - Bathrooms were right next to the suite, and they had 2 keys per bathroom. - Lockers were available. These were the size of a small gym locker (1 ft x 1 ft x 1 ft). A locker key is provided; you will keep it at your desk when you take your test. - If you arrive early, they give you the option of taking your test earlier than scheduled. Tips: - Bring a lot of quarters for parking. - The public parking lot nearby only has about 3 floors (if I remember correctly) and the first floor only has short-term (2 hour) parking. Get there early, so you can secure a spot. - If you're taking the test in the summer, don't leave any liquids or make-up in your car. They will get incredibly hot, especially if you're parked on the top-most floor, which does not have a roof. - Store your watch and phone in your locker. - Bring your own earplugs. They do provide soundproofing earmuffs (much like the ones you might wear at a shooting range), but I found that I could still hear typing noises (albeit muffled) when I wore these. Whenever I took GRE practice tests at home, I could never make it to the 10 minute break without having to go to the bathroom after the writing section. If you're taking the GRE, you *are* allowed to go to the bathroom in the middle of a test section. The clock will keep running. But consider this: if you've finished a section with 5 minutes remaining on the clock, it would be better to go to the bathroom then than to wait for the scheduled 1 minute break in between sections. That will give you more time to sign out, use the loo, sign in, and undergo the security check again when you return. For the security check, they will inspect your glasses and run you through a security wand. When I took it, there was only one staff member with a security wand. So you may have to wait for other people to get wanded, especially if your 10 minute break coincides with someone else's 10 minute break. When I took it though, there were not that many people going in/out, and the staff were pretty efficient with completing the security check as quickly and efficiently as possible. read more

I was happy with the test, but unhappy with the fact that I was told that I'd get an official certificate I the mail in 10 days. It's been 3 weeks and now they told me that I don't get a certificate from them, but the company that I took the course from. I need a certified result not something that I print from my computer. That was why I took the course. Now I have to take the test again with the county. I should have just saved the $50 I paid prometic and taken the test for free from the county. read more

Staff is very rude. I understand the tight procedures and need to run a tight operation with the various exams taken at the facility but there is no need to be rude and dismissive about it. I've taken various exams at other facilities that also run a tight ship and never had an issue with the staff. I took a CPA exam here and this test center is much better than the one in DC! I ended up at this location due to available test dates, but I fully intend to take my remaining exams here. I arrived about 45 minutes before my appointment and was able to start my early. The staff is very friendly and efficient, especially when you are trying to quickly get in and out of the test area for breaks. When you arrive, a member of the staff will sign you in, write down you launch code (you do not bring a hard copy of your NTS into the testing area. The man who wrote down my code double and triple checked to ensure he copied the number correctly), and take your ID (your ID is returned once you go into the check area outside of the test area). Once you arrive in the area outside the testing room, a staff member confirms your ID, takes a photo and fingerprints, and runs a mental detector wand over you. Then, you are escorted to your seat in the testing area. The staff is also very clear about no phones or notes while on breaks (at least for CPA candidates). Lockers are available. I saw that some people put water bottles on top of the lockers for easy access. I loved having the lockers. A couple notes however: the lockers are on the smaller side and you can only use one. I emptied my backpack, put important items in the locker, and stored my backpack in the coat rack area. Next time, I will make sure to bring a smaller bag. The waiting area was nice as well. It was not fancy, but there was ample sitting space and even a small table. I especially liked that there were four, rather than only two, keys for the bathrooms. There's nothing like being on a timed break and having to wait for a key or knock on the bathroom door hoping someone will let you in. Overall, I had a really good experience. This location was less crowded and run more smoothly than I am used to experiencing at other test centers. I highly recommend it. read more

I went to Prometric to take my Life and Health Insurance exam. I passed my test and got my results immediately. However when I went to apply for my license with the State of Maryland my scores hadn't been sent in. I called Prometric several times and they kept telling me to give them 48 Hours to resolve the issue. Its been over 3 weeks and they still haven't sent my test scores to the State, which means I can't apply for my license, which also means I can't work. Stay away from testing with Prometric they are highly unprofessional and do not care about their customers. read more

Hello, Prometric Center: 8120 Woodmont Avenue #510 This is the nearest prometric Center to my house so I don't have an option to go here for taking any tests 1st and if not available then go For any other center. I went with my mom as she was giving the test twice here. first time that was a black guy outside (who takes the documents from the students and let's let them in a room where the candidates give their own credentials and they go inside for the test). so this black guy was really very nice and he was catering to all the students and their parents. Also didn't made any problems if people were looking through the glass to their candidates till they go inside for the test as it's no big deal. this time the second time there was this Chinese guy who was very disrespectful and rude. There was a Spanish lady outside filled with anger, I believe she Wen through the same. When I was looking through the glass at a distance To my mom who was sitting inside the room waiting for her turn to go inside the test room, the guy Came and told me that I am hampering the privacy of candidates inside which is totally unfair. I was just calmly standing at one end and seeing my mom till she goes inside. I also asked the guy give me some reason what kind of privacy Issue is this created because I did the same and it was ok. Asking that he said he doesn't need to answer me and said that if I don't leave then he will call the police. This is not a fair play as the candidate is alone and if these people are not correct which I can surely say with their behavior they can do anything and the candidate will compromise and agree to whatever as they are already nervous due to exams. I think the test centers should allow atleast 1 person inside the room (not the test room or checking Room, but the small area where u keep things like jacket and locker etc if there is space and candidates can easily move around) atleast till the candidates goes inside even after that as parents or people wait to take them home. People like this who behave as dictators, the property is solely theirs, they can behave as rude as they want and don't belive in giving knowledge can hamper the candidates mental situation and will degrade the quality of these test centers. Because people needs to go to these test centers it should atleast have someone who knows how to communicate respectfully and respect the feelings of other people and not create unnecessary bad situations which gives a wrong impression of the test center and what's going on there. He also made clear that this is a private business and made clear that he can do anything as it's private then how we can fully trust what's going on I mean we need to just agree what they do. Looking through glass in which barely u can see anyone inside and that to not the test room, just where candidates are sitting is not a big deal. I mean the glass is there it's not our fault. I also went to UMD, college park for test and they have kind of open area where they check the candidates for anything in their pockets etc, making it transparent. There is a room where they have to go and no one is allowed as they need to just fill some papers which is ok. So I know what he is saying is bull shit because other test centers are transparent and take the checking outside. There is no privacy hampering it's just he had a bad day, has no manners, and because he manages outside he thinks he can do anything which comes to his head. I believe this people degrade the dignity of these tests and make a room for anything inappropriate to be done and most students will ignore it as they are already into the exam. read more

This is one of the best Prometric locations I've been to after having to take many exams for medical school and residency. Luckily I didn't have to pay for parking since I live a couple of blocks away, but regardless it was pretty easy to find. It's not far from the Bethesda metro so it's easy to get to for sure. And there's a starbucks close by if you need to get a snack for your breaks. All of the employees there made the check in process really easy, and they were always ready to check me in and out for breaks so I didn't waste any time. It was a really great testing environment with very little distractions. I wore a sweatshirt there which was perfect because it wasn't too hot or cold. The only thing they could work on is the seating during break times. It would have been nice to have a table for lunch. Other than that, I really enjoyed my testing experience here! read more

Awful customer service. I have not even stepped foot in a Prometric testing site, and already I am dreading having to utilize this company's services. I am currently trying to register for a certifcation test but first need to address a logsitical question with Prometric. Calling their customer service number is useless if you want to speak with an actual human. I have sent three emails to their offices via their website and received one response that didn't even address the central topic of my inquiry. Furthermore, their customer service live chat is only available off-hours on Saturdays and Sundays. Today (Sunday), after attempting to utilize this chat service, I found that their website is down. What a frustrating experience this has been so far. I don't feel remotely valued as a customer. I wish there was another way to obtain my certification, but I am unfortunately at the mercy of this company. read more

This is the BEST Prometric test center I have ever been to! I made the mistake of taking a few other computer-based tests in Massachusetts and New York, and they do not compare to this one. Even though I live in NYC, I always come to this test center for my standardized exams and have taken 7+ exams here beginning when I was in middle school! The staff here is fantastic - very organized, efficient, and friendly. They make your test day SO much better! The facility is absolutely pristine, bright and very quiet - I didn't hear a sound from outside when I was in there. I almost didn't want to write this review because it's such a well-kept secret! The temperature inside the testing room is perfect if you have a long-sleeve shirt and pants. You can also bring a sweater and hang it on the back of your chair if you decide it's too warm for you. The staff provides you with noise-cancelling headphones which are pretty good and can be adjusted, though they run on the larger side. They will also provide you a locker that you can put your things in for the day. Make sure your phone is off! I highly recommend this Prometric testing center! Best of luck on your exams! read more

I took a test which divided into 2 parts and there was a 30 min break option. As mentioned clearly in Prometic reminder letter stated "candidate may leave testing area..." during the break but I was told not to leave the building,even floor of the test center . After 2.5 hours computerized test and 39 minutes waiting for checking , I was hungry and thirsty so I retrieved my money from my purse then the staff raised his voice " I told you that you're not allowed to leave the floor , what money is used for". I realized that the vending machine for food located on the other floor, so nothing for me even water to drink . I also recognized that I have been monitoring during my own break! In addition, I was so humiliated since all others who were waiting for checking looked at me as a stupid person unable to understand a simple order or a person being catched do wrong thing. With an empty stomach, low energy brain and a scare of doing something not allow , I went back to 2nd part , skipped the 30 min break. After spending more than 6 hours at this center , I hurried to my car and found out there was a citation parking for 21 minutes over limit. Thanked to being restrained on the floor during my break and long line waiting for checking in , out and rechecking in with metal detector, eye glasses, shoe , pockets, jacket . In summary , a candidate at this test center , you should be prepared for -being illiteracy since the instructions sent to you are not interpreted as written -prisoner as you will be restrained in a limit area, watched every movement during your own break. - retarded type person because of incapacity to understand order ( I do not mean to insult anybody) - winner for weight lost ( make sure you are not diabetic or insulin dependent ) - car insurance premium increased due to violation ticket - enhance your heat/cold tolerant because you must wear your jacket all the time until done - spending large as millionaire for paying under score service and tickets - feel younger as being brought back to the old time because internet might be just above 128 Kbps. read more

I took the CPA exams at this location. I think they were great at administering tests, however, if you need to call them on the phone to ask them a question prior to the exam, then alot of times the phone would ring and no-one would pick up. I've called a handful of times, and I think they only picked up twice. Also, prepare yourself, because alot of irate people are taking some pretty hard exams, so expect to see someone flip out. I had a guy curse out one of the proctors of the exam and storm off. I really thought he was going to do something, but no he was just a cod. read more

I would give this place a zero only because of their staff member. He was not nice to me at all. Parking is crazy so beware to take enough quarters with you will need plenty. I know one is supposed to be early for testing but when it's a messy weather and a super slow traffic they should be considerate the circumstances even though I was willing to take my test with less time Mr. Rude didn't let me. They don't care if the weather is bad and people can be late due to such circumstance it took me 2 and a half hour to get there when the schools were cancelled due to hazardous road conditions. Not to mention your test cost you more than $150 WITH NO RESCHEDULING OR REFUND! Yeah, I am upset on so many levels.I requested the guy many times that please let me take the test he simply refused by saying it's not me it's the rules. This test center was excellent from scheduling, to a reminder phone call, to efficient processes once I arrived. I took the PMP and would definitely take another exam here! The staff was extremely friendly and explained each rule related to my exam. They also were friendly throughout, which always helps when you're taking a lengthy test. read more
