My child entered Norwood in 4th grade, so cannot speak to the lower school experience (and 4th was during Covid), but the upper school experience has been solid. My child loves and appreciates all her teachers--which is a testament to their kindness and real desire to educate young people.

They build confidence and the love of learning through play, meeting each child where they are. CLNS was also an education for me in parenting - in a very loving and non-judgmental way. For example, when my son was 2, it didn't benefit my son for me to anxiously ask him to apologize for taking a toy or accidentally stepping on another child's sand creation. Without shaming me or my son, the teachers demonstrated how to teach empathy verses forcing a meaningless (at that age) statement. They assured me that it was totally normal that my son was a tad late on the potty training front. They never any shame or force kids - they magically create confident kids who love learning. An unexpected benefit was the CLNS community of families, that was a huge support through these early years - I am so sad for this year to end.
