If you're here to take a test make sure to take the escalators up to 2nd floor elevators (don't use…read morethe ground level elevators). The 4th floor is where you will be taking a test. Right when you get to the 4th floor it is very easy to find your way to the test center, there are signage right by the elevators that will direct you to where you need to go! They provide lockers to place all your belongings and will provide scratch paper and pencils to use. Parking is expensive and is cash only!!! Keep in mind the building is called Pauahi tower and is surrounded by a lot of eateries!

While the location in downtown Honolulu is less than ideal to try and navigate, I definitely recommend locating the center beforehand. I stopped by and the women at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful, they will also call you the day before your exam with all this information as well. I mainly writing this review to help others in locating this testing center easier. The center will email directions to the parking structure on Alakea St. (see photos) I was fortunate enough got dropped off which I would recommend if you have longer test (the center does not offer parking validation). The center is located in the Pauahi building, upon entering take the escalator/stairs up to the main lobby level. Make sure you locate the correct set of elevators that will take you to floor 4, the elevators towards the back service the lower floors while they other set closest to the escalators services the upper floor levels, they are marked so just be sure to read the signage posted on the walls. Other than that it's not hard to find from there! As for the actual testing experience itself, I found the testing room pleasant and enjoyed the big windows that allowed natural light in, although some may find this distracting. However you can hear the occasional siren and sounds of the street traffic, outside below but they do offer earplugs and noise cancelling headphones which I found to do the trick. Bathrooms are located on the same floor just past the elevators and down the opposite hall, it is not far and they were very clean. The lockers use a traditional key lock and would fit a standard backpack if need be. Overall it was a good experience. Wishing everyone good luck on their future exams here!

She lost my paper work & I had to make a huge deal just to ensure my spot, that I PAID for and registered on time. -- got forbid you have a teenager that can pick up your toddler , she will NOT allow it. Even if he's 17, high school graduate, drivers license and a safe car. She will refuse to let your own toddler go home with his own sibling ! -- every single time you go you need and ID. So you go 100 days show your ID; you forget your ID once... NOPE can't take your kid home! No ID no kid. This is ridiculous , not one other school in the area does this! But guess what, her own daughter can show up and pic up her kids without an ID ??! Interesting right ?? Why the favoritism. Ohh say you have your ID on your phone.. nope she needs a hard copy! -- she is NOT helpful & lost documents on more than one occasion. ---she is NOT nice at all. The owners, Gary and his wife, Anna, both have amazing heart for healthcare and are both active in the field. Gary is very accommodating and works with you to figure out what the best course would be for you whether you take the accelerated day course which is 2.5 weeks or the night course which is 4 weeks. At first I was hesitant and many unexpected life changes happened that I couldn't attend in his original August cohort when I got the courage to pursue this goal. So I ended up in his September cohort. And I truly believe God himself wanted me to join the September cohort because even though I was afraid to go back and give it a try after not being available in August when I had planned to join, I finally went through with it and showed up on the first day of class and had the honor and pleasure of meeting and working with the most amazing people from all walks of life. You not only gain classmates, you gain friendships for life, and potential coworkers as you all pursue different goals for taking the class. We even made ourselves a YouTube page for our class so we can reference all our training videos we recorded in class so we can reference them when studying for the prometric exam. Whether you're in pre-nursing, opening your own care home, working at a facility already, or simply learning how to best help provide care for a loved one, I promise you will not leave this class empty handed or doubting your own ability. You will learn what it takes to do your job well, the right way, and have a newfound appreciation for everyone you encounter in this line of work. We made lifelong friendships and learned the amount of heart and compassion it takes to do this line of work. While some people may view it as "just entry level" work, you matter just like everyone else in the healthcare industry. I personally will be eternally grateful to Gary and Anna's CNA school for giving me a chance when I was too afraid thinking it's too late to give myself that chance. Gary is a genuinely caring soul and wants to see everyone succeed. He even opens his doors to allow you to train for the prometric exam before your exam date so you can take your skills test with absolute confidence and pass on the first try. He takes care of his facility on his own as well so be respectful of his property and clean up after yourselves lol. He does all his own linen/towel washing too so be mindful when using his supplies. I would have left four stars, but the poor kids go without air conditioning. First, my child has been coming here for four years, and this makes year five. I've eaten breakfast probably four times over time, and it's pretty bad. I had some type of breakfast burrito and it had some yellow gooey egg creation....sorry, it was horrible. Another time I had a cinnamon roll that was dry as a desert....again, horrible. I know school isn't really about what is served for breakfast, but there is room for improvement. There are probably many items served that are great for the kids I'm not aware of. I haven't eaten their lunch, so I cannot comment. The classrooms are roomy with a private bathroom in "some" of the classes, not all. I think there is one made available for the lower grades. I haven't had any real problems with the teachers so far. In fact, my child has had really good teachers...we'll keep our fingers crossed! I would like to see more physical fitness or organized activities at recess. Kids are stuck with tons of homework every day, so they are limited on time they spend doing things to keep them healthy and fit. There are a lot of fund raisers, which I would highly support if I knew where the money was being spent. Sure, a letter comes out from the Principle saying the many areas money "can" be spent with the funds raised, but each fundraiser should be very specific on what it is focused on....a field trip, continuing education for teaches, a scholarship for a Campbell High School Student(which I don't agree with), or maybe school supplies. I know the school raises thousands of dollars on fundraising, and I don't like the idea that all of that money simply goes into a "pot" to use at their discretion. Transparency is a good thing!!! The appearance of the school needs some improvement. Get a new fence on the front of the school and clear out all of those weeds and stuff. The fence looks dilapidated and old. Get a new school sign...that one looks like it was from 1950 or something. The grassy area under all the trees (toward Ft. Weaver Road) could be made into parking lot, because Parents DO NOT have many options for parking at the school. Why don't we do a fundraiser for that project??? I'm sure it would garner much support!! None of these comments are meant to sound rude or disrespectful; they are simply suggestions I hope get heard. I really like the school's new website. It's full of useful information and has a cool look!!! Great job!!! My child seems happy attending this school, so that is important. It's not like parents get a real choice of where their child gets to place thir child anyway right? It's based on zoning or where you live.

So my son has only been going here for a few weeks now and we have run into quite a few problems…read morewith the health room lady for some reason she really takes the time out of her day to do things like call everyone on my sons "EMERGENCY" contact to ask why he isn't at school and when me or my husband doesn't answer she leaves passively threatening voice mails saying she's going to contact his commanding officer. She calls multiple times a day even when my son isn't at school so I know there is no type of emergency that she would need to contact me about at this point I'm genuinely curious if I need to take legal action or simply report her but in all honesty I've never ran into such a situation in any school I've dealt with. Over the 20-years that we have been in business we have literally hired thousands and thousands of CNAs at the eight companies we own and operate throughout the State. After a while you start noticing patterns and one of the patterns that we have noticed that compared to most CNA schools, Healthcare Training & Career Consultants (HT&CC) does a GREAT job of preparing CNAs for the workforce. And it's not just me, I have heard Directors of Nursing, HR Managers, and Administrators tell me that they get excited when they see that a CNA applying for a job graduated from HT&CC because they have noticed that HT&CC students tend to come to work far better prepared than most. We have notice that HT&CC graduates seem more comfortable assisting with the activities of daily living, but it's also the little things like already knowing the importance of knocking before entering a room - this is a dignity issue, the critical need to wash hands before and after caring for a patient, providing privacy and blanket coverage when giving a bed bath, even knowing the normal ranges of blood pressure, heart rates, and breathing - things that you would expect that a RN would know but not necessarily a CNA. HT&CC graduates come to work already knowing these things that may seem small to most, but are critical to providing quality care. So when I am asked for recommendation for a CNA school or if one of my daughters wanted to become a CNA, I would without hesitation encourage them to attend HT&CC. And if you want to work as a CNA, know that when we see that a CNA job applicant is a recent graduate from HT&CC they automatically move to the very top of our interview list. I absolutely enjoy going to her class and I am so thankful for help and guidance.
