Took Step 1 here. Staff were super kind and easily facilitated breaks and starting and finishing the exam. Visited the center the day before and they answered all questions and let me tour around outside the testing area. They even let me come in earlier than scheduled on the day of which I was so grateful for. Bathroom, locker, and parking are all very close and accessible. Testing area was quiet and conducive to exam taking. I chose this Prometric location over a closer one because I heard better things about it and I'm so glad it did. read more

The test center was a nice place to take an exam! I showed up two hours early just in case there were some complications but the check in process was so fast and efficient. The staff was very nice and supportive and answered all of my logistical questions. The testing room was very quiet and very ideal for a testing center. The only small thing was that although the room temperature was fine and air conditioned, I think if the temperature were about five degrees lower it would be perfect (so it was very slightly on the warmer side). If I have another exam in the future, there's a high chance that I would take it here again! read more

Scam!!!!!!!!! they are thieves they let you schedule for the exam and once you are about to start they tell you there is an issue with the website, and ask you to try again! waste of time and money. I lost the whole semester because of them plus I lost the money and now I have been trying to get a refund for more than 6 months because they have the worst customerservice, they don't help you on the phone or even respond to your emails!! please if anyone knows how to get the money back let me know or if you file a case against them because I want to sue them! read more

Proctor Gave Us Misleading Information and Could not Speak or Understand English Our ten year old son was scheduled to take his middle school entrance exam. His proctor could not speak or understand English. When a message appeared on the monitor that said enter HTML code she did not know what to do and simply kept repeating call the global testing center. I asked, "Did I receive an email with this code?" She said, "Yes call the global testing center. They will give you the code." Obviously, this made little sense. After calling Prometric, it turned out the HTML code was a glitch and all you needed to do was leave it blank. The proctor did not know this and in fact kept repeating that we would receive the code if we called the global testing center. I have now been on hold for over an hour trying to reschedule the exam. Overall, I give Prometric a 0 out of 100 on customer service. read more

Working with Prometric has been an absolute nightmare. Not only that but after doing some research I found that they are the only ones in the state of California that can administer the NMLS licensing test. So you HAVE to deal with them. 1) It took MONTHS just to get an exam date. I logged in at various times on various days for weeks and religiously there were 1200-1375 people ahead of me in the queue. Every time before the queue would be diminished enough for me to schedule an exam date it would time out. This started in May 2020. It went on so long that I had to put this on hold because I needed to renew my driver's license so I could have a current, signed,photo ID. I was finally able to schedule my exam in December 2020 for January 7th, 2021. This ended up working out well because at this time they were offering at home proctored exams when before only on site exams were offered. 2) I logged in 15 minutes early ( as recommended, and it's just good practice) to make sure that I had adequate time to download their program, make sure that my computer met their specifications, and follow the directions for their identity verification. Everything was fine. At 10:45am (my scheduled test time) a proctor did come on. She was unable to hear me, but I was able to hear her. I communicated this to her in the chat provided. She explained to me that "protocol dictates that I must be able to hear you." I AM NOT SURE THIS DOESN'T VIOLATE THE AMERICAN'S WITH DISABILITIES ACT AS IT DISCRIMINATES AGAINST MUTES! I asked her if there was a hot line I could call or if she could call my cell phone to establish verbal contact, or if there was another protocol in place to remedy the issue. Apparently I'm the only person to ever have this issue because she stated "I have to ask my superiors what to do". I said that's fine and waited. I was then kicked out of the test. 3) I restarted the program twice and was not able to log back in. It was now 15-20 minutes past my test time so I wasn't sure if it was a software issue on their end, or if I was locked out because of the tardiness. I used the chat option provided for technical support. It was useless. It told me to simply restart the program, which I had already done more than once. 4) I found a customer service number online. NOTHING WAS PUBLISHED IN THE CONTACT US SECTION, I HAD TO SEARCH FOR IT ONLINE. I dialed the number and while I was on hold I completed the text fields in the contact us section of their website. I received an email shortly that let me know they would respond in 5-7 business days. My call was finally taken, but the only option was to complete automated prompts, and they kept encouraging you to visit the website. I was never able to reach a person. 5) I finally found a phone number for their corporate offices. I called that number and a receptionist put me in touch with an actual human to reschedule my test date due to technical issues. After being on hold for about 15 minutes ( not too bad considering long wait times) a representative took my call. I explained to her what the issue was. She had the audacity to become frustrated with ME because I asked her a few times what could be done to circumvent the issue of the proctor not being able to hear me, should it happen again. She informed me that my account had been reset and that I needed to go online to reschedule my test date. She also gave me a website for their tech support people (whom I'd already contacted before calling her). 6) I logged in to reschedule my test. I was greeted with a notice that my test was CANCELED! I thought that maybe the representative's request for reset of my account had not been processed yet so I walked away for an hour to allow time for the reset. 7) I logged in again ( 3 hours after the start of this constantly escalating demonstration in avoidance and incompetence) only to find out that my test was still marked as CANCELED. 8) I called the corporate headquarters a second time. The receptionist answered and said all she could do was transfer me to the rescheduling department. I begrudgingly accepted. I was transferred to the wrong department. The young man that ended up with me gave me the direct phone number for the correct department before transferring me. He hung up on me instead of transferring me. 9) I called the direct line for the rescheduling department. After being on hold for another 15 minutes a rep took my call and I and asked to speak to a manager or supervisor because the last rep I spoke to not only failed to remedy the issue but contributed to a ridiculously awful experience by becoming down right snippy. I was told that I should contact the complaint department after rescheduling with her. I said that would be fine. We rescheduled my appointment for the next available day (Monday) and a time that would work. She then gave me the direct line to the complaint department and which prompts to hit should the transfer of my call not read more

I had to give 3 stars. 4 stars means "Yay! I'm a fan!" I can't be a fan of a testing center. Cannot do it. Seriously though, I had no issues when I came here. I got registered and took my exam. They had parking and lockers to put my stuff. A nice bonus is the nearby convenience store, just in case you forget lunch. read more

I came here on a Martin Luther King Jr. Day for my GRE test. The test was scheduled for 11:30 a.m., so I arrived 30 minutes earlier, exactly at 11:00 a.m., as it was advised to do so on the printed admission ticket. I'm not sure if it was due to the fact that it was on a national holiday, but this place was very crowded. A lot of people were at the center taking all kinds of different exams, from Praxis to SATs. It took me the close to 40 minutes for me to get inside the testing room and start the exam, as the person who was authorizing my appointment was frequently interrupted by other people signing in and out for breaks, etc. This testing center had an ample amount of available seating when I was signing up for the test online. I scheduled mine only a week in advance, but at the time of signing up, it even had available seating in the afternoon on the day of. The building as its own huge parking lot, which was convenient. I tried to use the bathroom during the 10-min break, but there was a line long enough that I would not have made it in time. So I ended up not using. The temperature inside the testing room was comfortable. It was a little on the colder side, which I preferred. Jackets are not allowed inside (they have hangers and a coat rack in the waiting room), so make sure to wear layers. All in all, this place seemed understaffed, especially on days that you can easily expect to be busy like holidays. Can't say how it is on regular weekdays or weekends. read more

It's fairly out of the way as far as Prometric centers go. The layout and building are nice enough. They have ample parking space.

Had to travel into the heart of darkness to take my Step 3. Why is the east coast so overpopulated with doctors? Took the PATH train to Grove street where my friend was cool enough to drive me there. The entire commute took about 1.5 - 2 hours from Murray Hill. You can also take the NJT Burgen County Line from Penn station (just switch at Seacaucus) to get here. You will however have to walk 0.7 miles from the station to the testing center. There are other ways to get here from NYC that involve buses but I don't mess with that unreliable form of transportation. The people here are nice enough. Takes a while to get checked in though. It reminds me of the waiting room of a shady Chinatown clinic, tons of outdated magazines arranged in no particular order, rows of hopeful, hardworking immigrants - most of them too old to be doing this shit - waiting to be administered all varieties of torturous testing. The quest for a new American life, it seems, is not without its share of fiery hoops. Oh yeah, restrooms are kind of dirty. Lockers are small so don't bring a large backpack like me. Overall, my experience was better than I anticipated. Next time I'll learn to book ahead. Way ahead. read more

They took forever to reach me by email. When they finally did they told me that they would contact me within 2 weeks to tell me when my test date is. They never sent me a test date by email. I call them about a month and a half later to see what's going on. They said that they had sent me an email informing me of my test date which was around a month ago. Then they insisted that I pay them $130 to setup another test. I then extensively searched my email to see if I had overlooked it. I have a friend who got her email, and she showed me what it looked like. So I searched for the email directly, and nothing. So I call them back and let them know that I DEFINITELY did not receive an email. They didn't care. They made up some excuses and basically said that I pay them the $130 or I don't get certified and I lose my job. On top of all of that... My friend who DID get her email didn't find hers in time and she had to pay the $130 too. She didn't find it because they made the email look really obscure and hard to identify. While their other emails are easy to spot. All in all. This company is just scamming people out of money left and right. Besides, it DOES NOT cost $130 to run a simple test like they do. First time here because I took MCAT and step 1 at home back in Texas and my other shelf exams in Brooklyn. Took my last shelf exam ever here for psych. Parking underneath building. Testing is on the 2nd floor. Pretty small area compared to the center I'm used to. Getting to the place was weird because we had to somehow get to the other side of the highway, but thanks to waze, bf didn't make any mistakes. You get a locker & key to keep snacks, water, phone, etc. Since my NBME was only 3hrs long, I wasn't allowed to go to locker. Why even bother? You don't get a break and if you do it subtracts time from your exam. I have trained my bladder well, haha! Obviously for longer exams like MCAT and step 1,2,3, etc that take the entire day, you're allowed to after every block. Proctors explained protocol well, set me up in the system, gave me two markers and two laminated papers. Temperature was kind of warm with my north face jacket on, but I didn't take it off because it was perfect for me. Anything cold makes my feet hurt and I'm just shivering and not concentrating. I was allowed to bring in my own earbuds. Lots of people are here taking other exams like GRE, step 3 (I'll be there one day), etc. *Fingers crossed I aced it* read more

I took my GRE's at this location this past December. The last thing you need to add to your already built up stress is a exacerbated negative review of the location. While I can't speak for all test takers I had an acceptable experience. Parking: I drove to the testing location and there were more than enough spots in the lot behind the building. Facilities: Bathroom - as the previous poster mentioned the bathrooms are a bit dirty. You'll need to grab the bathroom key to have access to it. Reception - again, previous poster was correct about locker size (around 8" x 8" x 8") Testing Room - No windows and the the temperature fluctuated a bit so wear a sweater. Once you are in the room you cannot take off layers without having to leave the room to hang them up (which eats away test time). You will be provided a pair of cheap plastic earmuffs that are quite uncomfortable. You are permitted to bring your own set of ear plugs. Staff: The staff working the day of my exam were quite nice and professional. Arrive at least 30 minutes early! You are not the only individual signing in for an exam and there is likely to be a long line of test takers working with one receptionist. Expect to be wanded and have your articles checked prior to entering the examination room. Bottom line: Don't expect much. You're here to take an exam. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that the first poster probably hasn't been to a DMV if she considers this place rude and stressful. read more

I don't typically write reviews but this level of incompetence needed to be shared. I have been scheduled for months in advance for a 2 day exam on 3/3 and 3/4 and received a phone call for confirmation 2 days prior. At 10:36 PM, the night before my 8 AM exam, I receive an email that my test was rescheduled. Thinking it was a mistake, I went into the testing site the morning of and was informed that the lab that I was scheduled in was closed for renovations. It seems like they should have known much further in advance that this would happen and should have informed me of the reasoning earlier. There was no explanation or apology of any kind. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Don't want to see this happen to anybody else. Be wary and stay away from this site. read more

I recently took my PMHNP Certification Exam at this Prometric Testing Center. I normally do not leave reviews, negative or positive, in fact this is my first on Yelp. I was nervous going into the exam, as most test takers are and there was a lovely female staff member there, who despite the required mask, was able to convey a sense of security and compassion to me. When she directed me to my seat and gave me those reassuring eyes, I felt peaceful and just knew that I would pass, which I did. One person, one gesture, during a very busy, hectic work day, can make all the difference in the world to a nervous test taker. read more

Extremely rude staff. They expect you to know their procedures without ever attending the center. When taking a break, the lady at the desk in front of the door rolled her eyes repeatedly at (what i thought) were extremely simple questions. one of the staff members yelled "DONT USE YOUR PHONE" when i took my purse out of the locker to reach my water bottle. It was extremely difficult to find the building as there are no signs in front of the building and even when you walk in, there is no indication that it was the testing center. The staff treated everyone taking a test there as if we were second class citizens. I have another exam there next week, but due to my experience I may just go to the other testing center 30 minutes away from Fair Lawn. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I had an exam here for three hours. I could go to bathroom without holding time. White staff hassled and rejected my sign I signed in the signin sheet. She did not let me see the driver license sign and I tried 7 times because she asked me to make sign same as driver license. I was going crazy because I wasted my 13 minites arguing about the sign. I could solve two problems in that time. I was about to cry. I was upset and could not focus on exam after I got back. I was running out of my time on exam. I have taken the other exams in prometric center but never been tackled about signing.... The staff in this place is bad enough to bother people. NEVER go to this center unless you want to ruin your expensive one time exam. read more

Not as bad of a place as I was expecting but a few tips: -Bring 2 water bottles if you're taking a long exam or are a thirsty test-taker. The water fountain was non-functional the day of my exam, causing me to use extra minutes to buy some water from the DD next door after my bottle ran out -you will be called a few days beforehand as a reminder for your exam. Make sure your name on your exam pass exactly matches your ID. One girl was unable to take her exam because her last name was spaced incorrectly and looked like two different last names. Bummer. -Expect to lose 2-4 minutes in the check-in or check-out procedure every break. Sometimes longer if you take a break at the same time as other people (this will likely happen). The staff overall was efficient and friendly, but one got a little chatty and had to be reminded that you're running out of time -For test-takers who are far from Fair Lawn, Airbnb is key. Keep low expectations for Fair Lawn and you'll be pretty happy. -The DD next to the building is extremely convenient either the morning of your exam or during a break if you decide to take ~5-8 extra minutes -Bathroom breaks overall were okay, there are two keys for women and men -lockers are right in front of the testing room and there is room to sit. The staff, as I said, is friendly and don't babysit so you can enjoy your breaks as you like without feeling pressure -DO NOT stretch your feet out too far in your testing cubicle. I did and accidentally hit a plug that shut my computer screen down for a few seconds-- nearly had a panic attack but luckily my screen came back. Avoid those scares. Stretch adequately during your breaks when you can stand and move. -Noise-cancelling headphones and plastic writing boards are provided. Earplugs are cool but unnecessary and not recommended if your exam will have sounds. -lockers have enough room for a small backpack. Bring your own lunch to save time, but you can also get a bagel from the DD next door if you forget read more

Mixed feelings on this testing center. The building and center is extremely run down and kind of sketchy. Test takers are usually stressed and it doesn't help. The staff however was quite friendly and caring which made up for it. It was quite hectic and I went into my test kind of late but the computer equipment worked perfectly so no worries. read more

Mixed reviews: First and foremost: Prometric is a horrible evil company and that can go shove it up it's a@@. That being said, the people who work at this location are about as nice as Prometric employees get. Unlike a lot of other locations, they don't appear to hate their customers. I came here for Praxis. The lady who checked me in was very curt. I read in another review that the temperature was good, but I was quite cold the entire time, while wearing wool-lined pants that I use to jog in winter, and a long sleeve shirt, and some winter socks from Christmas. Also this was in August. Mid way through my writing section, the proctor told me to stop typing so loudly, because someone else had complained about it. Tbh, I am a speed typer so probably was making a bit of a racket, but I feel like they shouldn't have those loud clickety-clack keyboards in a testing center. If your going to take a test this place is not a good testing site . The staff here are extremely rude. First off the pregnant staff member asked to me lift up my pants to see if I had any cheat notes under my pants while I came back from break which was not asked to do so on my first break by another employee. The staff kept walking inside the room behind me at least 20 times not going to the other side of the room but just my side.Every time she walked she would have to open the door which was extremely noisy so it made it very hard to concentrate. This place is extremely racist and unprofessional. They made the room very cold by blasting the air conditioner it was very cold although I had a sweater on. Very rude staff I will never go here again.Also only one person per bathroom. There was urine soaked all over the floor. I don't understand how this place is in business. read more

Avoid this testing center! If i can give this place a zero i would!! Staff sucks and are extremely rude who seems like they dont know what theyre doing! Ive taken different tests using prometrics with no problems at all!! I come here and they asked me for a passport!?? Like wth??? Ive been practicing nursing for 10 yrs in the USA and i take a dang certification and they decide to ask me for a passport without telling me ahead of time after i drove 2 hrs to get here!! when the i took a test last week they didnt asked me for anything, just my license! MSNCB (the client who im taking the test with) called them numerous times to tell them that they need to allow me to take the test but no one is answering the phone! First: The young woman working at the front desk when I arrived was so rude and unpleasant to everyone. I understand, it's maybe not a fun gig or maybe she was having a rough day, but when every "customer" is high stress, having someone so mean is just unacceptable. Second: My computer froze up multiple times during my exam. The first woman that kept coming in to help me was audibly huffing every time- as if I was being an inconvenience to her. Luckily the second older woman that *finally* just moved me after restarting the computer multiple times was pleasant. I know this last point is kind of dumb and probably hyper sensitive but neither of them apologized which really irked me. Regardless: I'm stressed out, I'm over this exam and to deal with attitude about their system is just not cool. My ID cards were top level with picture; despite the list of acceptable IDs. They were rejected. They turned them down for state drivers license; so back to the car for drivers license. A few facts Re: Hamilton Nj: The entry testing procedures are very strict. There is a testing security scan - like TSA airport. They made me take off watch, and empty pockets into locker; however I forgot my handkerchief in pocket. This can't go into test area; violation. I was sure to be hiding info in the handkerchief like Jason Bourne. So I just threw it into garbage can v. returning to lockers. A full metal hand wand detector was used. I was made to roll pants up to knees. I was asked to pull up sleeves. I was asked to remove eye glasses for inspection. I was told my locker was off limits. The entire procedure seemed very excessive. It made me feel like a criminal not a test taker. Video recorders every where! I would pass this experience in the future for another method if available; for me no thanks. Pass. read more

Probably the best you can imagine one of these places. I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the staff was (aside from this one woman, but hey, some people suck). Everyone was friendly enough and they even called me early to ask if I wanted to test early since my slot opened available before my appointment. The only semi-issues I found was that: the keyboards on the computers are very loud and take some force to click. It makes typing a bit harder & there were kids running around outside the suite and I could hear them from the test area. Still, this didn't bug me too much since I prefer a little noise to dead silence. Otherwise everything went fine. Getting in and out, taking your break and finding the bathroom and water fountain (which was kind of broken, sadly) were easy. Locker is in the waiting room which is nice. I'm probably gonna take the GRE again, so I'll be using this location again. read more

This is one of the worst testing sites I've ever been to. The lady that checked me in, behind the lady at the front desk is extremely rude. While in the testing room, it is extremely hard to focus as the lady that checked me in walked back and fourth. She was walking lightly therefore overtime she took a step the floor creaked. It was extremely distracting! I asked for earplugs and was told they don't have any. I am an easily distracted test taker so by having these supplies handy for people in my situation would be best. I've been to another testing site and the people there are much more friendly and accommodating. Yet this raggedy location and the staff don't think it would be best to try to provide test takers with a positive experience so that they may recommend others to take their test there. read more

I had a terrible experience at this place. They never gave me the accommodation I needed for the Praxis Core exams, even when my doctor sent them a letter specifically stating that I needed extended time on tests because of my hypoglycemic type 1 diabetes. I was treated like crap there all because of my condition, since they were unable to work with me and my doctor. For some reason, they felt that what my doctor provided was insufficient data and therefore would never fully help assist not only my medical condition but also my testing experience to pass my Praxis exams as well. I felt like I got taking advantage of by this place because of this stumbling block they put in front of my condition, my schooling, and myself as a human person. Plus, even when I called numerous times before, nobody seemed to care or help me in this matter. If anyone has a good specific doctor's note and are looking for particular accommodations to take a test, I warn you, do not go to this place. They will screw you over in a heart beat. But don't just take it from me because there's always two sides to a story here. I'm sure they'll say whatever to cover their asses. Well, anyway, I think I said what I wanted to say here. I had a terrible experience at this place! Not only did they take forever to settle everyone in but they completely ignored me when I asked for more paper. When someone finally came over (after raising my hand for forever) she told me to "wait a minute" and she never returned! I completed my last section (quantitative reasoning) without scratch paper to use. I had no problems testing at Prometric. They have plenty of parking in the back of the building for visitors. I got there an hour early and they quickly registered me, gave me a key/locker, did a simple search with a metal detector wand, and set me up on a computer. I got to take the test almost an hour earlier than my appointment time. They only let you keep a photo ID and your locker key on the table next to your computer -- must be face up. They don't allow watches or anything like that in the test room with you but the computer clearly shows how much time you have left. They have uncomfortable noise cancelling headphones that you can use for the test, which are helpful as they do circle into the room often to check on the test takers and this at least helps a bit with it as it can get distracting. They gave me two thin sheets of wipeable board to use for scrap paper two dry erase markers to utilize during the test and you can wave them down to get more if you need it. You can take breaks if you need to but I didn't as I didn't want to lose too much time on my test with having to go through the whole searching process again with them. They said if you take a break you can't access your phone, study materials, or leave the building. The lockers are fairly small so don't bring too many things with you but you can definitely bring some snacks and water to keep in there for a break. Also, they have a coat rack in the room for you to leave your coat. read more

I took the HESI A2 today at this location. It was a horrible experience. They give you two dry erase boards and two dry erase pens. The boards had graph lines on them so you could hardly see the pen writing. Then, Only 1 pen worked!!! You aren't allowed to erase on the boards. You must raise your hand and wait for another board. Since they are understaffed. It was difficult getting a new board and/or a pen that worked! This makes long math tests MORE difficult!! THEN In the middle of the test my computer CRASHED! I didn't know if I lost all my work, I didn't know if the clock was still ticking on my timed test. I had to run out and tell them (as no one was watching). They did recovered my test, less the question I was working on!! They didn't seem to care that I would get that question wrong. The STRESS! No apologies. The computers are archaic, and I had to hit the keys extra hard to make them work. This site is a disgrace! I intend on reporting them to my school and to Elsevier. read more

Went here to take my Praxis exams. My appointment was scheduled for 2:30, but they called me around 9, letting me know that my seat was open and I could come any time before then if I wanted to which I thought was nice. Once I got there, the staff was very friendly, had me sign in and told me why to do as well as gave me a locker for my stuff. They explained all the rules I needed for the praxis. I went in at 12:20 on st. Patrick's day and it wasn't busy at all. When I left around 5:30, it was busier but they seemed to manage it fairly well. I took my exam here the other day and had no delays/problems. The facility is a little outdated but the staff were kind and helpful. Keyboard and mouse worked perfectly fine, and I was able to take quick breaks without any hassles. Overall, a good experience. read more
