Received follow-up and extremely apologetic phone call. They are updating their computer system and my appointment got lost in the shuffle. Everyone there has been more than upset and embarrassed that my appointment was lost. Because the staff has been so accommodating and remorseful about the initial mix-up we are giving them a second chance. Heather has gone out of her way to find dresses similar to the ones I liked and Jessica reconfirmed all the nitty-gritty details while setting me up a new appointment. I have purchased many dresses from Promises over the years. I recently purchased a dress for my daughters wedding that I loved. After I had some alterations made I wasn't pleased with the end result. That was by no means the shops fault, it was entirely mine. The owner allowed me to choose another dress at a discount and made alterations immediately. If it weren't for them taking the time and consideration needed to work on my new dress I would have fallen apart. Thank you ladies for going the extra mile for me. I bought my wedding gown here last year and the ladies here made me feel more than comfortable. I was a little worried being from such a small area about finding my perfect gown. I am also a girl of ample size so I was really worried about finding something pretty, stylish, and within my budget. I had been looking online and nothing really fit my fancy and I felt like I had exhausted every site with no luck at finding my perfect gown. I broke down and told my bridesmaids that scheduled the dress appointment in eureka. When I walked in (I believe the girls name was Nayeli) told me to make myself comfortable while she asked what kinds of styles I was drawn to, when my wedding was, how big the wedding party was, etc etc...she then proceeded to pull dresses off the racks and helped me get into them. I tried on at least 1 dress in every silouhette. I ended up picking my perfect sweetheart lace and tulle ballgown after trying it on a second time. If there was one thing I heard throughout the entire day of my wedding was how absolutely beautiful I looked in my dress and that it was perfect for me. I couldn't have been happier with the customer service that I've received there. The ladies were more than helpful when it came to finding what I had envisioned and made my shopping experience a very pleasant one. read more

To be honest, Promises has the most amazing staff and owner. My daughter and I looked for her wedding dress at many places throughout Northern California. There was no one comparable to Promises. Linda Jo, the owner, made our experience very special with her extensive knowledge of the bridal industry, the fit and sizing of dresses and most importantly, her ability to build a relationship with our family. The attention to our bride and the attendants was unsurpassed. Linda Jo has efficiently trained her staff, they give the same, excellent personal service whether an appointment is made or upon drop in. The order time for the dress was perfect, the fittings were on time and done properly. Wedding planning is stressful and the staff of Promises proved to be very flexible and accommodating, especially to our out of town bridal party members. Great service. Great people. My son was married last week so I was shopping for a mother of the groom dress. I shopped at Nordstrom, Macys, Bloomingdales and Dillards. I bought 5 dresses and still didn't love any of them. I went to Promises to get one of the dresses altered. When I got there I found friendly helpful staff that were more interested in making me look beautiful than selling a dress. Needless to say, they found me a fabulous dress in their store and I loved it. The alterations staff were so helpful. On the day of the wedding I received numerous compliments saying that it was the most beautiful Mother of the Groom dress they had ever seen. I was determined to purchase one of Enzoni's 2013 "Beautiful" line wedding gowns in May, but only LJ the owner's store in Eureka was kind enough to work with me in getting in a couple sample gowns for me to try on. On that faithful day after trying on 3 of the "Beautiful" gowns, LJ's lovely assistant Heather pulled out one of Mori Lee's wedding dresses for me and...the rest is history, and that Mori Lee piece became my wedding dress. Since I do not live anywhere near Eureka, I communicated with LJ and her staff mostly via telephone and email prior and after that day. From vigorously contacting the manufacturer on a weekly basis to make sure my dress would arrive on time, to reimbursing me with a refund (as charged by my seamstress) due to manufacturer leaving multiple pins in my dress, all I can say is LJ and her staff are beyond amazing. They know their business and they absolutely care about their customers. How I ended up with a Mori Lee dress thru this gem in Eureka is totally fate, but I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. After walking in yesterday and noone even saying "hi" or anything at all, I looked through every single dress type I was looking for still not one word. One lady helping a customer, 2 others "chatting" at the counter. Dresses are overpriced and soso at best. Walked out the door and again not one word said. I have visited promises as a bridesmaid and a bride. Neither time was a great experience. They took my measurements wrong and ordered a dress way over-size for me, which cost me a fortune in their store to have alterations done to it. That was for the bridesmaid dress. As a bride, I did not purchase my gown from them. I scheduled an appointment for a bridal gown dressing and when I showed up they made a big fuss and acted put out that I would show up to my own dressing. I did order my bridesmaids dresses through them, and it was a fiasco. I would show up to check in on my order status and have to wait for 20 minutes for someone to figure out what was happening. They made my bridesmaids feel inferior, and could not keep their measurements straight. They made no effort to try and help me find a tux for my husband (I ended up going through the Tuxedo Den because I got so frustrated with them). Their employees are very superficial and will not give you the time of day without pulling teeth. I will never do business with them again. read more

Where to begin! I ordered my bridesmaids dresses here which the dresses are awesome and I love them, but when we went in to take measurements and do the fitting the girl acted so put out like she didn't want anything to do with us. She left us in the fitting room with a few bridal gowns for over ten minutes with out telling us she would be back to help so when one of my bridesmaids started helping me try on dresses and she came back in the room she was super upset with us and we had no idea what was going on. She had to be the one to help put on the dress (which is strange because David's bridal is nothing like that they let you put the dress on yourself and help if you would like) I went in to order the bridesmaids dresses at a later date with half down and at that time my fiancé picked out tuxes. The lady that helped us with tuxes was super sweet and we thought she had everything right since we went over it multiple times: vest, tie, shirt, pants and shoes, NO jacket. Well when I got the tux order home and looked in the bags there were no pants! When I called to ask why there were no pants I could not believe how rude the girl on the phone was! Instead of listening to me and even trying to be understanding she simply said "you told us no pants. It's scribbled out so you had to have told us no pants" I never would have told them I didn't want the pants, I didn't want the jacket, but I definitely wanted the pants. I understand that mistakes happen but when you mess up someone's wedding order that badly 4 days before their wedding and then take absolutely no responsibility, something is majorly wrong with your business and you need to retrain your employees. When I asked about renting pants she said it would be 40 dollars a pair and they would not be here till the day of my wedding which wouldn't work anyway, not to mention I was able to buy pants cheaper than that which was still a major hit to my budget so last minute. Really people save yourself the stress and money and go somewhere else. I will never go through promises again. read more
