To save you some time, everything is overpriced, every liquor store in the surrounding area offers cheaper options of every single product on CT Liquor and Smokes shelves, this is a fact. They also don't know what barrel/store picks are so I'd be curious to know how knowledgeable they even are of the American market. The bar area is a little cramped, the cashier station is in between bar seats and if a line forms to order or close out, the walkway more narrow than it was before. The dancing was ok- they had a dancing class there which added to the crowd but they also played some extremely trashy music that isn't what most people enjoy dancing to (I'm sorry, I don't want to dance to Britney Spears or Lady Gaga... it's 2019). That was frustrating. They did have a keyboardist who played actual salsa music and we enjoyed dancing to that. It's an awkward floorplan for dancing but we made it work. It seems like a nice bar. Their prices are not great but slightly better than other similar bars in the area. It was clean and those working were pleasant and managed the crowds well. It's rare to find a venue that hosts legitimate ballroom style dancing (or at least encourages it) so we may go back just to practice and have some fun. The wine available to purchase is not ones you would typically find. Michael sources them and chooses based on what's in 'season' and has a great variety. Drop in and check out the rosés that are there. The sparking is delicious. It's located in a strip district and is a large venue. They have a 'party' room that can be reserved. They also have an area in the front that accommodates anyone that likes to dance. They don't serve food, but encourage guests to either bring snacks or order from somewhere local. This is a small operation, situated well off the main roads in farm country. The man inside, the head of this tiny family-run operation, seemed delighted to have a visitor. I tried 6 micro-pours, served in tiny plastic disposable communion cups. And, very unusually these days, there was no charge for this! They make several products here, two bourbons, a rum, gin, and three flavored moonshines (caramel, hot pepper, and blackberry). I tried all except the rum which sadly they were out of. Moonshine is silly but these flavored ones were interesting, although too low in alcohol at 60 proof. The bourbons were good but didn't wow me. The gin was really good and different, very citrusy and with low but detectable juniper. I learned the gin was very small batch: distilled in 4 gallon quantities! I complimented him on it and wanted to buy a bottle but the rest of the current batch was already sold out. His wife also stopped in to talk while I was there. I learned more about the farm where they primarily keep and breed horses, and keep a few cows as well. The horses are of the ordinary recreational type, not for thoroughbred racing like some other farms in the area. And I was also able meet their pet duck "Sweetie" who had free reign to the yard and wandered in looking for attention or a handout.
