So we decided to try out this place since my brother recommended it. It is not in the best area, but for the limited amount of "good and safe" choices for a laundromat in downtown Dartmouth, it is pretty decent. It is pretty big, with at least 12+ washers and dryers, plus industrial sized machines for linens and whatnot. The machines only take quarters and to wash it costs $1.50 (takes 27 minutes) and to dry it costs 25c per 4 min but because they are good quality dryers, it only takes about $1.25-$2.00 to completely dry a load, depending on the load size. Don't worry if you do not have quarters because the nice lady at the counter, who does the dry cleaning, has some. There are also places to sit and a drink machine/chip stand for those who want to buy something while waiting. It is open 7 days a week - we came on a Monday afternoon when it was not really busy but I would assume weekends can get pretty busy. We will come here from now on to do our laundry as it is not too far and we can get all of our laundry done in less than an hour and a half. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good laundromat in the area.

Once I arrived, it was fairly straightforward. They have a ton of parking spaces. I backed up my car to the door (it wasn't busy so that made it easier). I hopped out and waited maybe 20 seconds before someone who works there greeted me. I explained why I was there, he helped me, I left. Also: their Web site (while maybe a little outdated) is useful! Not that I even expected a recycling place to have a Web site, but they do.

The only reason I'm only giving 4 stars out of 5 is that I was told my pants would be finished two days later by 11am (I said I could pick them up in two days before noon, or I could get them the following week as there was no rush). I arrived to pick them up at 11:35am while on my way to work, and I ended up having to wait 5 minutes while he finished one of my pants in front of me. It wasn't a big deal, but if I I had come at 11am when he said they would be done then I would have waited 40 minutes or I would have had to come back to get my pants on another day. I would recommend this tailor, but I would suggest giving them more time to finish your items, even if they sound confident that they will have it done in a couple of days.

She accommodated our need for overnight storage, and worked with our timing to get out of one place and into another. The day of the move, which happened during the NS wildfires, the company's timing got a little derailed, through no fault of their own. When that impacted my daughter's move, they proactively waived some fees as compensation, and worked with her to make sure that they could still get the move done in time. Shelley sent over an extra mover, and when we suggested doing the move right into the new place, without the overnight hold (we were able to get her into the new place earlier than expected!), Shelley rolled with the punches, and pivoted to execute the move in one day. The extra mover (which we were not charged for) and the whole crew worked quickly but carefully, and got the move done in record time. Overall, it was tremendous value for what we got, and the move was done faster than we expected! Being far away was stressful for me, but Shelley made sure that everything ran smoothly and that my daughter was taken care of. I would highly recommend Gentle Giant for your local move.
