Great class sizes. Highly talented teachers and amazingly well-disciplined kids! Highly recommended for children with high potential.

As a guest coming with the rival school, I honestly felt the racism, weird stares, side talks, and discrimination against us colored people. To put it into perspective for everyone of how WE ALL FELT AS A TEAM: Like we were part of a zoo and being looked at as some sort of out of planet beaning. To begin with they charged our varsity team $10 to play, didn't allow our cheerleaders to enter through the main football entrance and instead were told to go all the way around the back through the rocky little path with all the dirt, when we could have easy walked down the steps and around the field. As a form of hiding us. Then throughout the night when our athletes had to use the restroom, they were told to use the porta potty on the dark side of the field or stopped by Santana students saying, "hey you can't use our bathroom go over there". Even during half time when trying to check out the food options Santana students would show rude gestures and purposely blocking our athletes. I would confidently even say their refs for the night was also racist and showing lenience with Santana players but showing no mercy to our team. Not only did I see this... Also parents on the stands. As a guest there I can say I truly am disgusted with Santana High School.

We feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a warm, welcoming, and enriching school community…read more From the very beginning, our family has felt supported not just academically, but personally as well. The teachers and staff truly go above and beyond to create an environment where each child feels seen, valued, and encouraged to grow. We currently have three children at the school, and each of them has had such a positive and unique experience. The balance between strong academics and character development is something we deeply appreciate. It's clear that the school is focused on nurturing the whole child, building confidence, kindness, and a genuine love for learning. One of the highlights for our family has been the musical program. Our daughters have been involved in the school musical, and it has been such a meaningful experience for them. Not only have they grown in confidence and creativity, but they've also formed friendships across different grade levels, which has been so special to see. The sense of community that comes from these programs is truly something unique. We couldn't be happier with our experience and feel lucky every day to be part of this amazing school. It's a place where children are encouraged to thrive, friendships flourish, and families feel genuinely connected.

I have only GREAT things to say about Mt. Helix Academy!!…read more My little 3rd grader has THRIVED at this school. Known to be very shy and often wouldn't participate in class, we were desperate. There wasn't ever any trouble, just no willingness to be part of school functions, class projects, and we were about to succumb to the idea that was just the way it was. No joy for school or even extra-curricular activities. Well... these teachers did amazing things!! My child is like a whole new kid. The small class sizes helped them focus on my child's needs, and the care the teachers showed made such a difference. Now my child loves school, can't wait to "try" math (it can still be hard) and is in the school play! I would have never thought this could happen. I was just looking for a place where a child could feel welcome and loved, and, oh yeah - learn. I am so very thankful that we took a chance on Mt. Helix Academy. I can't recommend them enough!

They offer homework assistance before school every morning in the library starting at 8 am. My son doesn't utilize it, but I'm sure if he needed to we would. He's been able to maintain an A average all year. His teachers are great. I love that they all embrace technology in the classroom, a marked improvement from elementary school. I especially love his speech and language therapist, she is just fantastic. She made the transition so smooth for him. I wish everyone had her excitement and passion for work. She is a great asset to this district. I know his life and time at Parkway Middle School is vastly improved for having her in it. Rather than focusing on past issues I have had with the district, I would just like to say that my experience with this school has been much more positive and I feel that my son has definitely experienced a better environment over here. I've also witnessed how they deal with behavior issues while on campus picking my son up for appointments. I was pleased with the approach; it was firm, fair and consistent.

I went to this school from 2016-2018. The teachers and some students were the best part of this…read moreschool. This school had many problems there were always sex scandals, theft, fights, an inappropriate teacher, and dress code issues with certain females including myself. There were often sex scandals because certain people would go to the bathroom together. In 8th grade a incident happened in the female locker room where 8 iPhones were stolen and they couldn't do anything about it (they found the person and they weren't disciplined). If a locker in the female locker room was unlocked while everyone was at P.E. things would certainly be stolen from their locker. There is a park next to this school where several students would go and fight. They would get into a argument at school and then take it to the park to avoid getting in trouble. At this school when I was in the 8th grade I had a inappropriate history teacher. There was this one incident where one day I was wearing distressed jeans and I noticed my teacher staring at me walking to the classroom in the hallway when I was close enough he told me,"nice jeans your wearing today". I felt embarrassed and never looked at him the same, while I was there rumors circulated that he acted like a pedophile and was creepy. There was another incident in my classroom where my classmate had a hole in the back of her pants and didn't notice so the teacher escorted her out and was looking the whole time. Now the next issue is the main reason why I disliked most about this school. There is a huge dress code issue regarding your gender and how you look. Me and many other girls were criticized for wearing holy jeans and certain clothing because we were curvy. There was always just one yard duty who would get mad at us for wearing holy jeans and would make us put paper towels in our jeans to cover up the holes. Meanwhile thinner girls weren't criticized or told to change at all. The boys at this school could wear holy jeans whenever they wanted without any regard. I have even walked In front of the principle wearing distressed jeans and she didn't do anything. Another issue in this school was that females in the bathroom would frequently pull the fire alarms for no reason other to get out of class. Besides these issues in the school I really liked it there and made good friendships that last to this day but I would not recommend this school to others as my 1st choice for future generations.
