A day pass is $8.00 and is good till 10:00PM (you can leave and come back). They give you a map as well. You can drive the whole thing and see a lot from your car. There's also plenty of pull-offs for picture opportunities. For ones that like hiking, there's plenty of that there. I'm not big into hiking, and I also didn't pack to do so. Lol. There is cave you see from the road, and if you want you can do a short hike to it. I wasn't on planning really hiking anywhere but this was short enough. Easy to get up, going down you have to be a lil careful. Good place for pictures too. Camping ground are available too. Anyways, if you're in town visiting or never have been there, I definitely recommend it!

We hiked through the entire North Prong Trail which totaled about 7 miles and it was truly gorgeous. There were some difficult moments at points, but nothing I couldn't do. This park is a valley between homes and is quite wide, bordered by East Georgia Avenue on the north. There is an open space in the center that isn't quite flat enough for game play but would be fine for a picnic or outing. Several picnic benches throughout plus more than playground, two swing sets and a covered stage with several rows of set seating. The park was being used by some parents and kids today so I didn't want to take too many pictures lest I get the label of "creepy dude." The park is clear from litter and the grass is cared for. Probably the most well-known and important point is that they have a free roaming herd of bison in the park. That's right, Texans don't have to go all the way to Yellowstone just to try their luck of surviving petting a bison. But seriously, don't pet the fluffy cows. There's so much more here than just bison though. Plenty of bird watching opportunities, miles on miles of trails, and camping, to name a few. I camped here very comfortably, although there are plenty of noisy coyotes and nosy raccoons, so it's still a good idea to keep your food put away. The visitor center is very well done with friendly staff, clean restrooms, and plenty of souvenirs to choose from. This is the best place to start your visit so definitely come give this park a shot.

It is filled with gravel or small Pebbles and there is a partial fence around it. There's lots of beautiful green grass for running and playing ball and walking dogs and some pretty trees to offer shade when they're full of leaves. We saw lots of families here when we brought the kids here to play. There is a church next door and a school right across the street so it feels like a perfectly safe place to bring the kids to play. They had a great time!.

There's a large playground, the Amarillo Botanical Garden next door and a 1 mile loop around the pond which made it easy to do my runs. I was warned about the geese infestation and the possibility of geese poop on the trail. I didn't see any while I was visiting, but I thought that was worth noting. There's an extended part of the trail but you have to cross traffic for it, so the one mile loop worked best for me. A lot of people were walking the trail through my three visits, a school bus was there with kids in the playground and on Saturday plenty of people were fishing in the pond. A really great and well maintained park!
