The worst decision I ever made in my life was to hire Alan B Plevy. If you value your time, money…read moreand life then, stay away from this guy. I had a straightforward divorce case which he turned into a nightmare. He used privilege information to see how much he can get out of the situation. He took advance of my vulnerable state. He bill excessively, redundantly, and kept billing after I told him to stop working. He gave me an estimate of 40k and end up billing close to 200k. He is charging me 18% in interest for his excessive billing; add close to 10k in interest. He pushed and scared me to hire one of his buddy accountant Richard Wolf from Gross Mendelsohn & Associates (completely unnecessary). Accountant billed me over 20k to look at two bank accounts. Maybe Alan got something from there as well. When I questioned him on charges he withdrew from the case and still kept charging me. It's not like I got anything out of hiring him, as a matter of fact, he mislead me during custody. Spend two days on custody. I got less time with my kids then what we talked about at the beginning of custody agreement. He simply said he is sorry he made a mistake and my ex never agreed to what he told me. He didn't offer a settlement for the house division when I asked him repeatedly. He pushed the case in the court so he can keep charging me. He didn't present evidence in the court, and as a result, I lost money which my ex took out from the account, 20% of my house equity and all of my personal property. I got less than 100k from divorce which cost 200k. I would have been better off walking off then fight for my right with this guy as my lawyer. Two year of suffering. Now he put a lien on my house for his made up fees. Bar complain to follow.
