They come in four sizes: small (4 slices), medium (6 slices), large (8 slices) and family (10 slices). The family pizza is massive and can be shared by four people. My three favourites: * Pepperoni Pleasure - a rich tomato base smothered in layers of mild pepperoni and topped with gooey mozzarella cheese. * Munchy Mushroom - layers and layers and layers of fresh mushrooms, shaved leg ham and mozzarella cheese (sooooo goood)! * Bolognaise Special - A match made in heaven - Spaghetti Bolognaise meets pizza! The pizza base is covered with a rich bolognaise sauce, fresh mushrooms, onion and topped with mozzarella cheese. This restaurant is BYO so grab a bottle of your favourite vino and spoil yourself!

They obviously use quality ingredients and there is no excess of grease and fat at the end. We have tasted most of the pizzas and haven't had a disappointment yet, which is rare as you always get at least one dud! Definitely a great addition to the neighbourhood and far superior to the chains!

So when the time came and I had a hankering for a pizza, I gave the guys at Pizza Emporium a test run. It was a Thursday night and my wife and I checked their website to see what they had on offer. Scanning the prices, we knew that being a gourmet pizza establishment Emporium would be a little more on the pricey side. However we we're happy to see that the cost wasn't too rich. We placed our order and were told that because we had spent over $20 we were going to receive free, a garlic bread and 1.25L drink. Happy days. We were told it would take about twenty minutes for our meal to be ready. When we arrived a few minutes early, we were delighted to find out that our pizzas were there ready for pick up. When we got home, the meal was outstanding, the layers on the pies were fresh and generous and the taste was absolutely mind blowing. Considering we both decided on a medium sized pizza we were contented to feel very full without finishing the meals and saved some for lunch the next day.

This is by far my favourite pizza place in Brissy-land…read more Fresh ingredients, great chewy pizza bases, amazing staff. They very easily cater for my retarded allergies that don't like tomato (I know, madness right). I order the four cheese pizza, no tomato base, olive oil instead, plus red onion and pumpkin, and let me tell you. Not only do we always finish all the pizza but my friends also eat mine because it's that good. Do yourself a favour, drive the twenty minutes from the CBD and try them out.

However, I had a feeling...With the pizza photos that I post, I think they wanted to show me that I wasn't far from home. Let's head on over to Pizza Capers in Chermside, Queensland, Australia. Located on the southwest corner of Appleby Road & Rode Road next to a fitness gym and a Fish & Chips shop, you'll find a gourmet pizza place. At first, the sign reminded me Little Caesars Pizza in the United States, but with class. There was a patio area for Pizza Capers which I loved. With the rain showering, it kept us warm and the candle on the tables added some intimate vibe. We were going to go all out and order three pizzas. My Auntie ordered a Supreme, my Uncle loves his Hawaiian, and I saw a pizza that caught my eye, the New Orleans Pizza. Perhaps because I love the New Orleans Saints. While we waited for our orders, I never got used to the water in a glass bottle. It looks exotic, but it was like we were buying an expensive glass bottle of tap water. We spent the time with catching up and the party behind me were enjoying some mingling as well. A very cool place to munch pizza. When the order came, there they were: Three Beautiful Pizzas. All my eyes were focused on was the New Orleans Pizza. You can see the potato slices all over. With the sour cream and chives on the potato, it was like having a pizza with baked potatoes. Not sure if that is Cajun. The chicken had some spice which added some heat to the pizza. I had devoured 75% of the pizza by the end of the meal. Shows you that I was hungry and every slice I had felt like it was water. Although pizza is a solid. At the end of the night, I was full, but the added treat to pizza capers was the girl employee who said that she had gone to Sydney to watch the baseball game. Wow! I loved her and I had to take a photo with her. Although she had trouble doing the LA sign with the fingers, it was cute alone that I got a photo with her. The trip from Sydney to Brisbane was well worth it. Who knew baseball thousands of miles away make my adventure worth it. You think I write too much? Well, you can call me a Yelp-O-Holic!

There was a lot to choose from but not so much that you got lost in it. We decided to start with a Margarita pizza. Handmade base, fresh cheese, tomato and basil was hot and delicious. For the mains, I had "Ragu Di Coda Di Bue" which is Slowly cooked oxtail ragout removed from the bone and served with strozzapretti pasta. Stunning dish with beautiful flavours that complimented each other. My dining companion had the "Linguini Al Sapori Del Mare" which is a variety of fresh local seafood, sautéed with garlic, chilli, fresh parsley and fresh tomato. He said that it was probably one of the best seafood marinara that he has had anywhere. The seafood was cooked perfectly. Dessert was the Sticky Date Pudding and "Tortino Ai Tre Cioccolati" which is the sweet spongy torte baked with three chocolates. One word for this - amazing. This is definitely the sort of place you would want to take someone on a 'date night' or even a group of friends. Prices are very reasonable and they also have a very good wine selection. I am really looking forward to going back here.

Nonetheless our table was seated by a friendly waiter (turned out to be from Bologna) who was fun, polite and attentive...a good mix. Mussels were a standout from the appetizers and with a deliciously creamy red sauce was a perfect excuse to eat copious of bread. The mains was when the food really turned up a notch with both pastas and pizzas consistently delicious. From pork and veal tortellini with a creamy ham sauce to ricotta stuffed pizzas and delicious wild barramundi, everything was delicious! I wasn't drinking and probably a good thing becuase the wine list wasn't great and they were apparently out of stock. I will be back!

Bella Cosi is a nice little restaurant located on one of Chermside's quieter side streets, although…read moreduring peak shopping times these streets tend to get overcrowded and a bit hectic. Paid parking now being instituted at Westfield Chermside has caused a lot of the traffic to spill out over into the streets, which unfortunately can limit your parking choices for Bella Cosi. The place itself however is really quite lovely, with the choice of both outdoor and indoor seating. It oozes Italian charm, with red, black, and white seats and furnishings and an Italian street scene occupying an entire wall that gives you itchy feet and makes you want to travel. There's even the odd vespa outside, which only adds more Italian charm to the place. The tea they serve is made from real leaves, no fake tea here, and their coffee is strong and smooth, just what I love and expect from a true Italian restaurant. Breakfast is a treat here, with fluffy berry pancakes served with ice cream and excellent scrambled eggs. They also crisp the bacon if you request it. Breakfast isn't a busy time at Bella Cosi, so it's a really nice place to sit back and enjoy the Italian aura without excess noise or worries. Getting in early has its benefits, including easier parking and less of a crowd.
