My husband and I drove to Dexafit hoping to get a more accurate reading on whether my weight gain was due to more fat or muscle and frankly, to get help on maintaining healthy body weight. It was a fantastic experience. We did the $99 special and I was delighted to get a 10 page, full color, detailed report of our body weight. We also received a grade on our body weight, bone and metabolic health, which was super helpful and gave us a good place to start. Then, an incredibly kind, cheerful and forthright trainer sat us down and was very frank about the changes that needed to happen in order for us to improve our health. He gave us direct feedback on where we should focus and did not overwhelm us with a mega fitness plan that we would soon forget and not follow through on. NO HARD SELL ON SUPPLEMENTS, AT ALL. He even demonstrated specific exercises tailored to my husband's body and fitness level that he could do to improve his health. The results speak for themselves: I started a plan to add yoga sessions to my weekly workout schedule to improve my joint flexibility and I am feeling much better as a result. I will continue the yoga sessions. My HUSBAND doubled his gym visits and his weight is at least holding steady. We will go back to Dexafit in about 2-3 months to get another check to see if our new workout plans and exercises have improved his health. Oh yes: Also, the space was clean and tidy, they were on-time, even early to start our appointment and they did both my husband and I at the same time, but alternating diagnostic machines. Today I went to my doctor and he gave me a script for blood work. I called Summit and told them my good friend had recently used them and said he got them to drive over to his office to draw his blood during lunch for no charge. The one who answered the phone at summit name was Rick.. He was really friendly and told me he'd make sure I got hooked up. Lol He also told me that normally when you call to schedule a mobile visit you'll schedule a time and date which he said will normally be the next day. He told me that I was lucky caller number 5 which means I would receive a free mobile draw and it could actually be today if I'd like. Before I could say anything he said he was playin around and let me know everybody gets to use there mobile service for free, so tell your friends he says. He told me I was lucky tho and because I called early enough in the morning he could get somebody out the same day. I don't want to go on forever but feel like I left two other important kick ass things. 1. I don't have insurance and have to pay out of pocket. I guess there cash pay prices are one of the lowest in the valley I didn't check but I believed him. 2. The phlembotmist named Pam who came to my house was very nice and made having my blood taken almost painless. When she was done I asked her when she thought I'd get my results back and she told me probably tomorrow. I can't believe it's that fast. I will leave another review if thats true. I can honestly say that I was so pleasantly surprised by my experience. I only had to wait about 8 to 10 minutes, which is no big deal. They were extremely friendly when I walked in. Honestly even the other people in the waiting room were very nice to me. I told the young man that was going to do my blood draw that I sometimes have a bit of a reaction when I get my blood drawn and he was so understanding, gentle and kind. He chatted with me the entire time and made the experience so much easier. I lived in Boston for a long time and I've gotten my blood drawn at Mass General Hospital many times. I would say that LabCorp did just as good of a job as the best people that ever drew my blood at that hospital. Really excellent experience and I think they've gotten some pretty inaccurate reviews. The test is not FDA approved but has been fast tracked under the emergency authorization use act and is believed to be reliable. Anyways the reason I gave them 3 stars is because the receptionist was not wearing a mask but the person conducting the test was wearing a mask and was very nice but i didn't get her name. The test itself is pretty gross, you have to drink Barium and roll around like a guinea pig while they xray your stomach. The nurse and the xray tech were both really nice and friendly and explained everything along the way.
