I remember as a kid, visiting this Temple. Our family was on vacation and stopped by to walk the grounds. This was in the 70's and was shortly after the Temple was built. It was only a couple years old. If you ask me, it still looks as new and beautiful today. What stands out is the architecture. I miss the '70s. What does that have to do with the Provo Temple? Well, this place was the height of fashion in the 1970s when it was built. Completed in 1972, to be exact. The exterior terrific, and I'll stand by that no matter what anyone says. It's unique, and such an icon of that era. The height of fashion and discerning, finicky taste. That exterior! It's different that we might be accustomed to now, but life is too short for same ol' same ol'. So find your inner finicky taste and learn to appreciate this temple. Love the '70s-ness of it all and treasure the time you have looking at it. The LDS church is now currently totally remodeling the similar Ogden Utah Temple, but hopefully Provo escapes with one more of its lives. If you're not familiar, LDS Temples are different than regular chapels. In the common meetinghouses, visitors are welcome anytime for worship services. In temples, however, only members of the faith in good standing may enter to worship. Some of these buildings have large grounds or visitors centers. This temple does have a nice front area with fountains and stairs that slope down towards the city. Lovely temple with lots of roses and greens all around. The folks were nice, though I didn't go in because I'm not a member. Overall, it's a nice scenic area to be around. read more

Oh man! I have only seen this temple in the pictures of it from the 70's. I always thought it was ugly and awful. But really they are just bad pictures of it from the 70's. This temple is WAY better in person. I didn't expect it to me as majestic and pretty as it was. Even though the style is a bit outdated, it still has a great beauty about it from the era that it was built. I loved this temple. The peace you get from being on the grounds can't be matched. read more

Not what was advertised at all. From the brass interior to the escalators from a 1960's mall, I have to say, this must be God's museum rather than his home. The movie was vague but without popcorn, it really was a real dud, as cinematic experiences go. I'd recommend just going to a real movie theater, better selection and meal options you can take with you into the movie theater. read more

This is the busiest temple in the world. There is such a peaceful feeling here, and I love to visit as often as possible. The grounds are kept immaculately, and they include a beautiful fountain. The backdrop of the mountains is breathtaking. It is one of my very favorite places to be. read more

Having been inside and outside I can speak to the peace and decorum that is pervasive throughout the grounds and interior. Honestly, I go there whenever I am feeling down, it is a beautiful and heartwarming place. I am real grateful for this particular place. read more

Simple design inside and out. The grounds are welcoming for walking or meditating. This temple handles many patrons--including lots of missionaries and BYU students, so parking can be a challenge. Has it a name? It has. Will you give it to me? I will through the veil; "boring". The actors were stiff and the script was oddly repetitious. The audience participation was kind of fun but I had hoped for a little more Rocky Horror and a little less Reichsparteitag. If you go I promise you will have a better time if you indulge in a couple pale ales before saying your 'pay lay ales'. read more

It was ok. I wore a pretty green apron with my wedding dress. Green is my favorite color. But I was sad that half my family couldn't come in. I guess they are adulterous heathens who don't pay their tithing. But super happy my 24 nieces and nephews had free babysitting from family waiting outside. This temple is the House of God; a place of love and beauty. I prepared myself when I was young, it was my sacred duty.

I LOVE THIS TEMPLE. The grounds are absolutely breath-taking. I love the purity and simplicity of the interior as well. This is my hometown temple so I'm biased, but I just get goosebumps every time I look at it. Also, I love that people think it's not that pretty on the outside, because it just shows that God can use people that are imperfect or rejected by others and He can make them holy, pure, clean and powerful. Absolutely beautiful temple with stunning landscape. I've always had a wonderful experience attending the Provo temple.

This is the most efficient LDS temple that I have been to. I love visiting it. It is always so beautiful kept. Sometimes I just walk around outside to look at the beautiful landscapes and to enjoy to fountains and to relax. People are always so nice. read more

I love the view of the city and the fountain and flowers at this beautiful building. Inside, it's an amazing peaceful refuge from the hussle and stress of daily life. Friendly people dressed in white who are all trying to so what's right and seeking to be closer to god. I've had numerous moments of inspiration and peace inside and gained good perspective on the purpose of life. It's absolutely worth the commitments necessary to be able to go. read more
