The exterior terrific, and I'll stand by that no matter what anyone says. It's unique, and such an icon of that era. The height of fashion and discerning, finicky taste. That exterior! It's different that we might be accustomed to now, but life is too short for same ol' same ol'. So find your inner finicky taste and learn to appreciate this temple. Love the '70s-ness of it all and treasure the time you have looking at it. The LDS church is now currently totally remodeling the similar Ogden Utah Temple, but hopefully Provo escapes with one more of its lives. If you're not familiar, LDS Temples are different than regular chapels. In the common meetinghouses, visitors are welcome anytime for worship services. In temples, however, only members of the faith in good standing may enter to worship. Some of these buildings have large grounds or visitors centers. This temple does have a nice front area with fountains and stairs that slope down towards the city. You get some pretty great sunsets over Provo from here, but I don't know that there's much else to do but wander up and take a quick stroll. Utah Templequest 2013 #3/13 10/22/13

While the…read moregranite is being stalled right now, if you keep coming back for the next six months, you keep seeing more and more progress being done weekly for those of you that can walk around the grounds on the outside perimeter only the sidewalk is now open for people. You will not be able to walk on inside the temple gates until it is dedicated or public open house.

For Easter this year, I decided to do a church crawl. First stop was The Front Church, on…read morerecommendation from a friend. When I first put the church into my GPS, I was taken to the wrong location. My bad-I should have paid attention to the address, and I submitted a report to Apple maps to let them know-I'd hate for other people to get lost like I did. Luckily, I found my way and pulled into the parking lot a few minutes later. I was enthusiastically greeted by several congregation members. They seemed genuinely happy that I was there and introduced me to other folks. I was early enough to attend the pre-worship huddle and hear the group pray together as an observer on the sidelines. The energy was respectful and upbeat. The space where the service is held is a modest sized auditorium with a stage up front for the band and the speakers. While I was waiting for the service to begin, Pastor Nate noticed me as an unfamiliar attendee and introduced himself. I felt very welcome and appreciate how everyone extended a hand of fellowship and friendship to me when I visited.

I am new to the church, having spent most of my life living most as non religious…read more While I always believed in a higher power and God, I was not one who attended services or practiced any formal religion. I have spent time in the past, look for a connection to God and did not have much success. I have had some challenges in my life, and the past 2 years have been hard for sure. Late last year, I started to ask some questions and in January I started to attend services. I was inspired. I was warmly welcomed by the members, and found tremendous support by all. While I suspect most will say they have a great Ward, i think we have the best. I am a Mormon, and it still surprises me a but to say that. Not in relation to the church, but really in my connection to a religion at all and I can say that it feels great. We have a great community, and very supportive group and I am blessed to be part of this ward.
