First, my wife was told that the premium "deep clean" was our only option because of our distance to the area she usually services--which is Alamo Ranch, just a 15-minute drive up Potranco to the house we just bought. I am still left wondering and flabbergasted about what exactly we paid for. She assured us that with the purchase of a deep clean that they "clean everything." We hired Mimi to clean the used house we purchased, which had no furniture and was to the naked eye superficially clean--ready for a walkthrough, yes, but not deep cleaned to belie the five years the previous owner lived in it. I am left to assume Mimi's crew saw that our new home was clean enough for a showing so they halfheartedly worked, thinking that someone else already did the job for them. She sent us pictures of her small crew cleaning our windows and a picture of a wet, mopped kitchen floor. But as you will see in the pictures, while the floor was likely treated with product, there was bits of trash and debris left brushed up against the edge of the floor as if the floor was mopped and all the clutter was sloppily pushed over and left uncleaned. Most disappointedly I am continually finding splotches all over the house that I have since had to clean myself and more often than not only required a gentle wipe down, which means it was never done in the first place (see pictures). In the end, we can be guaranteed Mimi cleaned our windows, mopped our small kitchen, and cleaned most of the baseboards. Does that constitute a "deep clean" in a three-bedroom, 1500 sq.ft. home? I don't believe so. Mimi, to her credit, refunded us the money that it costs to upgrade from a basic clean to her deep-clean service.

They each worked about five hours straight non-stop, organizing, labeling, sorting, etc. A particularly challenging aspect concerning this job is that the space was very confined and limited so it was like trying to solve and manipulate a giant Rubik's cube. The weather didn't help matters, but that was no deterrent to these gals--they pushed thru like real troopers. They were both very professional and worked efficiently without judgment. Wished I could have had them each another 5 hours or more as this was a particularly big and convoluted job--sorting through years of accumulated items, clothing, tools, supplies, and personal treasures all out most of which were in disarray. The end result, while not totally completed due to time and other constraints was nonetheless satisfactory. My main reluctance to the possibility of using Spruce Goose again would be that their rate$ are very high in my opinion--but then again, if I factor in the value I place on my personal time I suppose they are worth the extra premium! I took some pictures and explained exactly what I wanted and they gave me a fair price that I was very happy with. They double checked that we were still on the day before and morning of. They showed up on time and with all their own supplies. I work from home but was not bothered at all by their work. When one was done, they went over and help the other finish up. They dusted and cleaned the light fixtures, wiped down both sides of the doors and even the door frames. The ONLY issue I had was the mopping. The only reason I have to give 4 stars is I am not sure that the Company uses a very effective algorithm or plan to determine how many cleaners they need to send. I was accurate with my square footage and what I was looking for, and it would seem to me that a move-in clean should be about the same as a deep clean. That could be more clear on the website, I suppose. I have had other cleaning companies in other regions send multiple individuals to get the cleaning done in a shorter amount of time for similar sized jobs. The work that was done was accurate and professionally completed. Would recommend for response time and communication of workers.
