We have hired PRV Tree Service a few times over the past several years and I have been recommending them to my friends and family. We have a fairly large lot for a suburban house with lots of trees. Unfortunately most of them are shitty hackberry trees and most recently a large limb fell off one of them and landed right on the fence line where my backyard and 2 others meet. We let it sit for over a year because it was out of sight and out of mind, so it was completely dead and had killed some other photenia bushes that it landed on. It was a real mess but PRV came and provided a fair quote. They also always offer a nice discount if you ask usually up to about 25% off. I chose PRV for this job because I knew they would go a over and beyond and sure enough, they cleared out all the dead limbs and bushes in my yard, but they also climbed over the fence and removed everything from my neighbors' yards too. On this same job I also had them clear the roofline of our 2 story house and do a full yard clean up. They took the trees back quite far from the house and again went above and beyond with the yard clean up. They brought a crew of like 5 or 6 guys and they knocked it all out in one afternoon. Don't hire some uninsured loser off of Nextdoor if you want professional results. Go with an established company like PRV. read more

Pedro came out and I talked with him about various jobs to get done, he gave me estimates and I said to just do what was intended to lower three slopes in our backyard. One minor and two larger. Also, put the dirt in the back behind the pool deck. I asked how much for the sod and he said he would quote me that after the job was completed and it would be quick because he was bringing over a catapillar. He also quoted me on the flowerbed in the front and that I would save money if I bought the plants myself. He laughed at me and said I didnt have a green thumb because my roses died. They completely took out approximately 3 pallets of grass and it would take another 3-4k at least to put down topsoil, level it and lay sod. I completely believe this guy created the situation to increase the bill. Last fall we were selling a house a house and two different times I had to call them back to reposition a plant in an island and they did it wrong twice and laughed about it and kept asking "where, here?" Still wasnt centered correctly. They will be available on short notice. They mess around too much. I dont trust Pedro. Other employees are nice. They bid low and then the bill grows. I have 4 large live oak trees and a red oak in my back yard. I contacted PRV tree service because I was very pleased with work they have done for me in the past. The two largest live oaks are approaching forty years old and have never been professionaly trimmed. One of the larger limbs has been growing over the fence and is hanging close to the ground in the neighbors yard. l was quite impressed that they did a wonderful job after the neighbor granted them access to her yard. The crew arrived promptly as scheduled, they did a very thorough trimming, and cleanup was spotless. When Rosa came for the estimate, she remembered us, even though it had been a number of years. She gave me a fair estimate and with the coupon and another discount the price was very agreable. In the past when neighbors would mention tree service, I would praise PRV but usually couldn't name them and would say it's three leters and they have adds in the mail fliers all the time. We had a approximately 35,000 cedar elm in our backyard, a beautiful canopy of shade over our house. We noticed a split right down the center and each side of the split would sway in the wind. We had much rain and wind and felt one more high wind and the tree would split causing major damage to our house. PRV immediately came out, took a look and realized that the tree needed to come down ASAP! The next morning 5 men had the tree down within 4-5 hours. Most important to me was they carried BOTH liability insurance AND workman's comp insurance. I needed a tree trimming company last year when my neighbor's Bradford Pear started beating on my chimney again. I think I found PRV in a social media advertisement and placed the call for a bid. I got permission from my neighbor to trim the branches on my side of their tree to the trunk because this was the second time in 5 years I'd had to pay for this expense. When PRVs sales rep came out, I explained what the neighbor and I wanted, and he agreed to have his team work and do cleanup on both sides of the fence. Their prices were very competitive and they were able to schedule the appointment within a couple of weeks. PRV sent out a team of 5-6 guys, some to cut, some to haul, and they were ridiculously fast! Even better, they did a great job with the cutting and cleanup! It's been nice not having the screeching and banging on my chimney during the winter storms, and this spring, my neighbor's Bradford Pear is nice and bushy - on their side of the fence. read more

PRV was the first company to respond to my Yelp service request and came out in a couple of hours. The young lady was present and assessed the issue as well as listened to my desired outcome (dead limbs gone, all around the tree, ie. top and sides, trimmed back about 5'-10'). She provided me a quote and a veteran discount, so that was appealing. She showed me their laminated insurance and bond documents, allowing me to photograph them. Within 24 hours, a team of five gentlemen arrived and began work. Initially, there were logistic issues because they parked in front of both mine and my neighbors' dumpsters (it was a trash day), but that was sorted after some talking. After the crew representative informed me they were done, I had to point out some limbs I wanted removed still. They had not done the overall trim back of 5'-10' as discussed with their assessor. I also couldn't clarify past pointing to two limbs because no one on the crew seemed to speak English well enough to understand my descriptions. Not faulting them for not being fluent, but if they wanted to ensure my satisfaction, they would include someone on the crew fluent with ESL. Overall, I'm mostly satisfied. The final issue I have is the unclear designation of price. I was quoted a remaining amount, after deposit, that would be due. After the job, the office rep informed me that there was an additional 2.something percent for a "handling fee". That was NEVER mentioned or annotated on the documents I signed. Yes, it only came to about $30, but that doesn't matter. It could have been $1, the point is that wasn't made known when I scheduled the service. I gave them 4-stars because the work was good and they cleaned up well after the task was completed. They didn't get 5-stars because of the failure to complete the task to the previously discussed and agreed upon expectations, as well as the failure to clearly note ALL fees associated with the task. read more

They lied and killed a tree I had been growing for five years. I now have a hole in the front of my house, and I think about it each time I step out. You NEED to make sure you watch them do the work. I specifically told them NOT to dig out a tree as it was a perennial, it grows back each year. I mentioned multiple times that it grows back. They killed the tree and dug out the rootball. When I asked about it at the end of the job, they lied and said it would grow back. I would not trust them with your trees. We needed some work done in our backyard. There were bushes and weeds that had taken over our fence line and we did not have the time or energy to clear them out or maintain them. The area was an eyesore and frankly had become a litter box for neighborhood cats. PRV gave a very reasonable estimate and came out today to do the work. They completely removed the weeds, bushes, and roots. Cleaned the ivy off the fence and laid down weed block and gravel. The result was better than we hoped for. It looks great, they even atheistically placed the larger rocks to give a finished look. I'll be using them again for any work I need in the future, like the bare spots in the grass. read more

I just got a new roof and realized my trees in the backyard were scraping away on it. Called PRV and their manager Pedro came the next day. They did much more work for the money than the last company used from a prior trimming! They came to trim today, arriving early (yay not late for the day's plans!) and knocked it out exactly how Pedro and I discussed. We had some tree work done and for the most part, the crew did a good job! The scheduling was off by a few hours, but they did call to let me know they were running late which I greatly appreciated! There were some areas which they did not put pruning spray on but did do other areas. I felt it was a little pricey for what we got done, but I am pleased with their overall performance. I have used this Tree company 3 times before having a problem. Today PRV Tree trimmers we're supposed to be at my house between 12 pm-2 pm. I woke up at 8:20 am and let my two dogs out to go potty and found 3 PRV employees in my backyard with my gate wide open. My backyard was locked with a brass key lock. The employees used tools to take my entire gate latch including the lock off to access my yard. I had to run after my dogs so they didn't get loose while the employees just watched and laughed. I called PRV's front office and asked who I needed to speak to with a problem. I then called Pedro to explain what happened and how upset I was. Pedro said he would talk to his employees and offered nothing further. I will not use PRV Tree Trimming services ever again. They lost a good customer today. read more

This company is really annoying. They continue to ignore my no soliciting sign, and even when requested to stop leaving trash on my property they completely ignored the request and have left fliers on multiple occasions. While I have never used this service, based on the disrespect they showed my yard next door to the home they serviced, I never would. I was home alone and could hear banging and lifted my blinds to find several of PRV tree service workers in my yard. I was completely shocked. There were men on my shed, in my back yard and on my fence in the middle of jumping. All of them had jumped the fence to get there. I yelled, and told them to get out of my yard! They STAYED!!! I don't even know why they were there because not a single person came to knock on our door. We had two cars in the drive way and four people in the house. There was no knock, no doorbell, no shout over the fence. PRV why would you risk your employees safety that way? How dangerous it can be to break and enter into someone's yard. Which they HAD to do to go through our gate and lock. I have dogs. I have kids. That was entirely to invasive and I do not appreciate it. I tried to speak to your employees and they ignored me. I spoke in the only two languages I know, English and Spanish, to which they completely ignored. The one man they called the "boss" refused to speak to me and instead spoke on the phone with you. Asking if he could still just enter my yard. This is poorly executed service. You left a huge mess in my yard PRV Tree service. You may schedule with me to come clean it up.
