I've always been fascinated with psychic readings. There have been some that have really surprised…read moreme and I can't explain, but most unfortunately fall in line with what I experienced at Mrs Laurie's. Not that I'm all that surprised or disappointed, its interesting to note the techniques that they use. Over the past year, I've had a few readings from three different "psychics" at Mrs Laurie's. 1- None of them actually read the individual tarot cards. They won't read individual cards. I've received the same general reading each time I've been, no matter what cards were drawn. They basically ask what you do, where you're from, if you're single, your name...despite the big sign stating you don't have to say a thing, they know all. Then they throw out random attractive personality traits so you think they're describing you ie strong willed, loyal, etc. If you mention said sign and don't answer their questions, they will claim you're stubborn and strong willed and the reading will consist of a mini lecture on stubbornness and the need to be more flexible. 2- The palm reading constitutes of the exact same information as the tarot reading. It isn't an actual reading where they read the lines on your hand. 3- They then proceed to use a warm reading technique to make a generalized psychic reading. Meaning they make generalized statements that can apply to just about anyone, then they gauge your reactions and ask questions based on the direction you take them. Confirmation bias then makes it seem like they're getting more hits than misses. They then use a tactic called time-shifting whereby they encourage you to ask a detailed question and they answer it based on what they gleaned via the warm reading. 4- Then they proceed to ask if you live in Las Vegas. If you do, they use whatever question you asked to claim that you're in desperate need of a spiritual cleanse and consulting and offer to help you for between $200-$500. I've told them false problems on several occasions and they acted like they can read the situation and are picking up the psychic vibes and offered to resolve my problem within a few sessions.

She offered me a deal, $400 to work with crystals and candles and give them to me and do weekly meditation and check ins. We unfortunately could not really continue because it was at the peak of covid and the pandemic.
