I have been to several psychics before who have given specific details about my current life and provided accurate names, numbers etc but Amy could not provide any of these what so ever and said she didnt work with names. She used tarot cards but she picked the cards and only used a few cards in the whole reading. In the first 10 minutes she asked over 20 questions which took me by surprise as psychics do not normally ask questions. The questions were things like have you got a boyfriend? Do you do a degree? Should you be doing a degree? What is it you do? These were the basic things that you would hope a good psyhcic would really know. By the time I had answered these questions I was very dissapointed as she had worked out my personality and life etc. The reading continued were she was just giving me advice and telling me about her life. I paid money for a friendly chat and I told her I was not happy with her questions when she said I looked dissapointed. She said thats how she does it and people often refer to her as a councillor. I did not pay to see a councillor or sit in a room for an hour having a friendly chat with someone. I do not think Amy is malicious and perhaps she genuinly thinks shes helping people, she has probably trained how to use tarot cards but she is most certainly not pshycic. To top is off she is also doing a degree is Psychology which proves my point that she reads you from the many questions she asks. Please do not waste your money

The shop owners are lovely and always happy to see us there. They know us because of how much we come in haha. Led by MC and DJ Nikki Blaze, the group includes 11 - 19 year olds interested in creative writing, poetry, rapping, rhyming and the spoken word. There's workshops in storytelling, writing and helping people find their own voice, learning and performance sessions and one to one mentoring. There's also regular showcases where the group get to strut their stuff and flex their vocal muscles in front of an audience. Meetings used to be held at Bluecoat Art Centre every Tues evening but are now held at Kuumba Imani Millenium Centre, Princes Road, L8 1TH. In actual fact, it's an all singing, all dancing facility where students are encouraged to live out their Glee and Fame fantasies! Built in 1825, the building was originally used as a school for boys with past students including Paul McCartney and George Harrison. Hearing the building was empty and neglected in the late eighties, McCartney joined forces with entepeneur and Brit School founder Mark Featherstone-Witty to regenerate and re-open the building as a higher education facility for creatives. After a seven year struggle and mulit-million pound investment, the doors open in 1996 offering students diplomas, degrees and post-graduate programmes in everything from Performing Arts, Music, Dance and Sound Technology to Entertainment Management and Theatre and Performance Design. I've never studied at LIPA personally but if I was in my teens, I might aspire to. Alongside regular classes, there are masterclasses and Q&A sessions with industry veterans and musicians. I must say, this place breeds talent on a huge scale and I'd never lived amongst such a great group of people before. What's more is they all spoke highly of LIPA and all that it has to offer. LIPA has a huge success rate and many affiliations across the performance industry. It offers classes in singer/song writing, music management, performance, community performance, dance, acting and a wealth of interlinked modules. It's an expensive place to study and can be a hard place to get into due to the amount of applications that the institute receives each year.. But it's a great place, a really sound place (Excuse the pun). LIPA students have a great social community and I was proud to be a part of it as I met some fantastic and talented people from all corners of the globe!

The centre was formed in 1965 and it has been based at 149 Duke Street, in the Chinatown Area of Liverpool, since its foundation. The centre is a well-respected and established organisation in Liverpool with strong links to other major Chinese communities in the UK and Europe. When I was younger, I attended Mandarin language and culture lessons on a weekly basis (taught by a Chinese native). This only cost me £30 for several months of tuition and the teacher will put you into a class of your level. Classes of this nature are open to anybody of all ages and nationality, so whether or not you come from a Chinese background, it doesn't matter as long as you have an interest. I did find the teaching a little awkward since the teacher hardly spoke a word of English but I tried by best efforts to somehow translate sentences! I met people of different backgrounds during my time there and it was delightful to see the popularity of a small organisation. If you don't fancy taking up any courses like the aforementioned, each year during the Chinese New Year, there are indoor celebrations that take place at the centre where you can attend free of charge and watch traditional performances at your leisure. In addition to the Lunar New Year, there are also other activities that take place throughout the annual calendar, such as short day excursions. You could walk past oblivious, reaching the grand entrance to The Bluecoat without realising that you have skipped past the artist/poet in residence exhibition rooms. All concrete and white walls, art and poetry on the walls, a thought-provoking video installation and one of the artists sat willing to chat about his work. At the moment the exhibit is Mistranslations which had some great works mixing Spanish and English. There are gaps between residences but the website will keep you updated, fear not! So if you're walking on by, don't be a stranger and stop in. Even if it's just for 5 minutes it'll give you some food for thought for the day.
