terrible terrible people. they like to f*ck people over and charge them for fees that do not need to be added they also like to lie about the dates you pay and how much your paying for certain storage units 0/10 do not recommend at all. don't even fall for their bullshit. I just paid $108 for THE SMALLEST unit they have which on the website it says $32 a month plus $15 for insurance and they MAKE you pay that $15 if you don't get insurance you don't get a unit TRASH again ZERO OUT OF TEN !!!!! they suck a$$$$$$$!!!! and they have bugssss laying around all in the units. me and my boyfriend have seen so many roachs around that area tragic. read more

Again, not happy with Public Storage, nor this location. Found out today that even though we are moving out on August 13, we are still required to pay for the entire month. Their reply was, we are sorry, Public Storage no longer offers that convenience to their customers. So, my $1 first month rent was for 5 days, and now I have to pay $32 for 31 days, 18 of which we will not be using the unit. We will never rent from Public Storage again. read more

Public Storage 4816 N Grand River Ave, Lansing, MI 48906 -- Horrible! Yeah, they have a security gate, but it was open and non-functioning for 3 months. They apparently fixed it recently (I don't know for certain), then raised the rates. What? Each customer should have received a discount while there was ZERO security. Instead, we got a price increase. Trash move. The new person at this location is just listless and completely uninterested in anything related to assisting a customer. Also, they are liars (site & 800#) and have not held to one promise made to me prior to renting the unit. NEVER again. Avoid this place and find a facility that has a limit more respect and appreciation for its' customers. read more

This a safe, gated storage unit. With one of the nicest employee Tay. The owners are lucky with her. She wanted to make sure I had rented the right size unit for the amount of things that needed to be stored. I've store items before at different companies,and they never took the time or didn't seem to care if I had asked for the right size. More just sign on the line. Public storage goes above and beyond that. I don't know who came up with the idea of asking people Tay or the company , who ever did . Great idea. Keep up the good work. Very friendly employees. Clean units, gated, and they constantly are checking to make sure units are locked . When your leaving items with someone else this is the place you want to leave them at. read more

I have been given the Worst Customer Service I have ever seen! I have rented a uhaul truck to move out cost $242. after showing up at 5:50pm today I have been denied access to my belongings today after much of my stuff has been stolen from there, now another breaking & entering I was told if my stuff was effected I would have gotten a call I was not even able to check on my belongings. by the manager it was blamed on Corporate ( Gary Herndel ) I called (877) 270-2836 after a 20 min talk & her speak to peer support I was told things would be noted & I would receive a call back from (Daniel Goldman) within the hour *did not happen* I called back & spoke with rep #7090 (Terry) who told me that's not how it works there are in the field etc. he also told me NO Notes were entered. This is my third time using Public Storage but first in Lansing.The other experiences were positive. Beyond the poor customer service mentioned elsewhere (rude, does not keep appointments), some of the business' activities border on criminal. The stated price does not include mandatory insurance of $15/month, which is levied on top of your payment unless you somehow show up with a copy of your homeowner's insurance premium when renting the unit. My rate also mysteriously increased by $5 per month without warning or explanation. Unfortunately, I was outside of the country when it happened and had no choose but to continuing paying. read more

I think that this company needs to revamp how they do business. They say 100% guarantee, ha! Let me start by the first day I called to toll free number and they quoted me $13.65 for the first month. This unit is for my son who is a student at MSU. He gets to the office and was told it would be $48.00. I called the office and spoke with the agent about the information that was given to me from reservations. The agent explained to me that they (reservations) does that to get the customers in the office. (Unethical) I get past that. Then each time I call and get a different agent with different information. It has gone so far as the agents are speaking poorly about one another to me on the phone. read more
