DO NOT use this facility!! I've used them for the past year because of the convenient location. However, at this point, it would have been MUCH cheaper to hire another moving company and move everything to a different place for storage. My 10x15 unit started rent at approximately $200 a month. It now costs me $594.20 every month!! They have raised the price 3 times over the last year with random "changing of the rate" emails providing a month's notice. I'm in the process now of trying to quickly empty out my space so I can free myself from this albatross around my neck! Please be smarter than this reviewer and run far, far away from this location!! read more

Beware of this location - the front desk manager has not kept her promise and the top district manager of this location would not even take or respond to the front desk manager's call during an emergency, and certainly won't respond to mine. I read the bad reviews and thought they were outliers. I rented a unit - first of all - there are a TON of upsells as you go through the process of renting - don't believe the advertised monthly price! $15 Required montly property insurance, $20 lock, taxes, one time fees, etc. - the final price is about 3x as much as the initial stated monthly price. Also - shockingly - the units are not sealed at all. So mice, bugs, dirt, etc. could get in there. Would never recommend storing anything valuable or meaningful to you. Also, they have no liability if your stuff gets ruined or stolen - others report they won't take your calls if that happens either. Anyways - I rented a unit and figured I'd use their $20 lock because it's probably better than what I can get at the store, right? WRONG!! I rented a unit, bought the lock, and then the VERY NEXT DAY the lock stuck and would not open. The manager couldn't open it despite using her silicones, etc. Nobody could open it. She told me I had to pay $120 for and wait for a locksmith to come open it due to their own lock failing, but promised that they would reimburse me for the locksmith the next day. The locksmith gave me a copy of the receipt and gave the manager a second copy right then and there. Lo and behold - I still have not been fully reimbursed. I have left messages, but nada. There was another woman when I was there who paid for a unit in advance, showed up, and the unit wasn't available. They offered no help whatsoever. BUYER BEWARE HERE!!! read more

I truly, honestly, and thankfully had a wonderful experience storing my belongings at this Public Storage. This is the one closest to the Boys and Girls Club on 32nd Ave (though there is another location about two blocks closer to 27th Ave). I was in an awkward bind of needing to move locations at the end of the month, but not being able to move to my new place until two weeks into the month. It didn't help that I was traveling the last two weeks of the month, so off I went searching for reliable storage facility that was close by my residences. I came across Public Storage with their $1 special - at the end of all my paperwork, I forked over a little over $25 for a month long lease of a 5'x15' space (the admin fee, plus tax, and your $1 rent). I had a unit on the 4th floor, and had my own lock. I declined a second through PS, and they didn't make a fuss about it (they did stick their sticker on mine to make it "approved"). The first option they showed me had a post right through the middle of on side, so I asked if they had another availability - they did, and were happy to show me another one down the same hallway. This one had a dry paint spill, but all of the glorious 75 square feet that I paid for. (I found out later after dragging some furniture that a screw was sticking up out of the cement - I highly recommend checking your unit thoroughly before agreeing). The staff were incredibly friendly. There was always at least one person available during business hours to help me unlock carts, and they always greeted me when I opened the door to buy yet another box I didn't think I'd needed. They made it very transparent that if I were only keeping my items for a month, I should remove them before the weekend that my lease was up, so there is absolutely no question about not renewing. Most of my move was done in the afternoons/nights on weekdays, so I never had much of an issue with wait-times for carts. The facilities are clean (no notes on the restrooms though), and both elevators worked while I was moving things around. 10/10 would definitely rent a space here again, but lord I hope I won't need to anytime soon. read more

I would give it negative 50 stars if I could. I've had a unit here for 20 years with an impeccable payment record and I finally got tired after the second rent increase THIS YEAR so I attempted to negotiate to keep the same rate despite the fact that LARGER units are available for less than the amount I am currently paying for my unit. I continued making my inflated payments on time while attempting to get a human being with the ability to make a decision on the phone. That NEVER happens because logic doesn't apply to these thieves and they have no reasonable counter argument to make. Now I'm getting threatening texts and emails and calls from staff. Trust me, put your stuff ANYWHERE but in this DUMP. read more

My company has been using this location for 6+ years and we've always had a pleasant experience. We recently downsized our unit, and Morley went above and beyond to make the transition as easy as possible. He quickly showed us a new unit, in the same building as our prior unit (making moving easier), and made the change to the Public Storage system within minutes to allow us to move-in right away. He made it a point to expedite this move, so we didn't have to pay the next month's fees for our old unit, and fees for a new unit. Morley is a great asset to Public Storage and I appreciate his great level of customer service. read more

I found that Public Storage is a dishonest and disreputable company. We had a disagreement as to when my lease was up and rather than answering any of my calls they sent a collection company after me. They never responded to my credit card company inquiry and therefore my credit card company said there was no outstanding balance. Despite many attempts at reaching a live person and even after finally reaching someone no one has kept their word to investigate and follow ups withe me. I have never experienced a company so customer unfriendly. I would never recommend them for any storage needs. read more

BEWARE- UNJUSTIFIED FEE INCREASES. When I first went to Public Storage, I told the facility I wanted a long term storage unit since I was moving out of town. They rented me a unit at $137.77 a month. Four months later, I noticed that my credit card was being charged $165.54 which is a 20% increase. I wrote two emails to the corporate website providing details and requesting a reasonable increase ... not 20%. No one answered. I then called and left two messages and no one returned the call. Finally, I was able to talk to the facility directly and spoke to an employee who told me that my contract allowed Public Storage to increase the rent whenever and by whatever amount they wanted. read more

Dealing with an accommodating, professional, friendly staff are key and can make all the difference. Such was the case at this Public Storage facility - and they DID make all the difference - from my first experience to my second in transferring my unit to one of another size. Starting with Rolando, who was exceptionally helpful, and including Melissa, Vicky, Ralph and 1 other female staff member who I worked with the first time I visited and who's name I, regretfully, cannot remember, they not only conducted themselves in a manner I would expect when dealing with a service-based company, they actually went above and beyond, surpassing the level of service that met even my high standards. They were absolutely exceptional and continue to be a pleasure to deal with. I wave every time I drive-in, if the office is open, and it is a pleasure interacting with them on the occasions that I do. Sometimes, when visiting my space, I just drop in to say Hello. THAT is the level of comfort I feel with them and I feel confident that anyone utilizing their services will feel the same. Perfectly Clean, Secure, Modern, Indoor, Climate-controlled Units while paying the lowest fees even with the additional cost of the mandatory Insurance, which is standard. Super convenient from almost every part of Miami since it's literally right off US 1 and easily accessible from the local streets, which is great if/when there's any traffic either way - their are several options to reach it. Just make sure the Photo ID you will be using is valid and current. I had an issue with my recently expired Passport that was not accepted due to their company policy, which I believe was unreasonable. But that had nothing to do with the personable service I receive from the staff. I highly recommend this Public Storage facility to all. read more

In fact, the service and atmosphere at Silver Bluff Public Storage was so great that I felt compelled to write about how stupendous they are over there. Diego and Daisy are over there and are working hard at all times to make sure that you have a great experience storing your stuff. I had to make some creative arrangements with them to pay because I had an emergency situation that landed me in the hospital for 6 months. I sent them checks or something, they found a way and made things possible for me. I am really grateful to them for all of their support. The units and area are clean and well maintained. There are secure elevators and the prices are great. I would always recommend this to anyone who needs a place to store their prized possessions. read more

Very convenient location in the Grove. Staff was very helpful and polite, especially as I arrived right before closing to open my account and secure a storage unit. The only downsides with this location are that: - The restroom has been incredibly dirty the three times that I've used it. - The water fountain has been broken during the same time period. - There are very few carts available, so depending on how many people are using them you may have to wait ~30 mins. to move heavy objects. Aside from the location, Public Storage is not very upfront with costs as the website quoted a very low price for the first month ($1) which ended up coming to $54 after adding insurance, the admin fee, and paying for the $19.25 lock that you must either buy on-the-spot or wait to open your account until you have your own. And the monthly price went from $47 to $58 after adding the required insurance that is not advertised online. All in all, good service and decent facility, but the business itself is not completely transparent regarding its pricing. read more

Needed storage asap and went for the $1 first month special. We went to the other public storage place on the same street twice but was greeted both times by a sign saying be back in 45 min. Okkk. Went to this location.. The only unit they had had 2 doors meaning you needed to buy 2 locks. The district Mgr was nice enough to give us the 2nd lock free. No carts available unless someone is in the office. Carts are locked at all other times. The problem is, it seems the office is closed quite a bit. With signs on the door saying when they'll be back but it just seems everytime I go there no one is there to help me... The district manager said that the office is periodically closed throughout the day, which is quite annoying because you don't know when exactly it will be closed and if you will be able to be helped. This can be especially aggravating when you have a trunk full of stuff to move.. For 190 bucks a month for a small unit, I expect better service. Also, the security door where people can walk through from the street was wide open. And no one in the office. Doesn't make me feel very secure... read more

If you want one of the "cheap" spaces with reduced headroom, go see it first. I needed a place right away and relied on good past experiences in choosing Public Storage. Big mistake. Reduced headroom mean you carry your stuff up a rolling ladder into a space that would be short for an oompa loompa. I didn't have time to go elsewhere for a better deal. I went to public storage because I needed to do a move on short notice. It was just before closing, but Vicky waited for me. She was great. Extremely helpful and efficient. The next day, I had to switch to a larger unit. Luckily Rolando and Carlos were working and helped me out. These employees all provided such good service that I made sure to take their names. They were really exceptionally friendly, and got the job done quickly. I definitely got the vibe that they actually cared and were willing to go the extra mile.
