I have rented from Public Storage for 10 months and my rent has increased over $440. This is crazy wrong. They say there is a discount at the beginning but they certainly get the money back by increases in rent! read more

Always had a great experience with public storage. The awesome app they have to access the security doors!... Game changer. Also if you bump into Wes he is a treasure. Not often you meet a wonderful human being who spreads happiness. If you have a problem with the app getting in, get a new phone or update it. Also the prices are very reasonable. read more

I would have loved to leave a good rating for this storage facility because we had one unit with no issues. Then we decided to get a second unit and the experience was horrible. I booked the reservation online and confirmed the check-in time, someone from the facility called me and talked to me on the phone to confirm the time, then when we went at the agreed upon time no one showed up. We waited 45 minutes (and called to talk to customer service and they said that someone should be there because the time is correct) and finally left. Not only did we lose our entire moving day, but I received an email from public storage that I was a no-show for the appointment. I called and left a voicemail and shockingly never heard back. read more

If you move out on the 1st of the month, they charge you for a whole month. Unethical. They also upped my rent after 2 months of renting.

Not the nicest place around but it is the cheapest. Bring your own lock and you don't have to use their overpriced lock. Create an account online and you can cancel their overpriced insurance. Entry and exit works fine. So far so good! read more

The prices were the best for the area, there is a great on site manager, everything is very secure with both locks and security gates requiring personal codes. Do NOT waste your money here! We were going through a difficult move for our family, and entrusted Public Storage to keep our things. We paid in full for each and every month. I had my credit card stolen (not from PS) and had to get a new one. By the time I went to get my information updated at PS, the slapped me with a fee for being 2 days late and increased my rate. The final disaster was moving day... we had a moving company meet at the unit, and discovered that approximately half our stuff was covered in MOLD AND WATER! We had a tarp on the floor covering the entire floor and part of the walls. Yet somehow, water ended up all over our stuff and apparently this had been happening for quite some time. Lost family photos, jewelry, furniture, etc. The real problem begins with how PS handled this: 1. Their insurance only covers some items. Jewelry for example, is destroyed and PS will not replace a single penny in loss. They of course point to their "rent at your own risk" policy. 2. They refused to pay for removal of our damaged items. That's right... they destroy your things... and you clean up the mess. 3. Refused to refund ANY rent. That's right, they think it's acceptable to charge you for a service that they didn't provide. Once again, I was told by Manager Brittany "rent at your own risk". 4. After speaking 2 times to Manager Britany, she decided that she wouldn't take or return my calls. The check was cashed, and Brittany no longer has any interest in making things right for the customer. This is a disastrous company with horrible customer service. Save yourself $150 a month and leave your families valuables in the woods... they will be in the same condition as the months pass. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. The office is impossible to get in touch with. I called their office endless times trying to reach but they never got back to me, until I complained about them on their main website. Moreover, the price matching they promised to me didn't happen until I called them in vain for 2 whole weeks. When I finally reached them (by aforementioned method) they haven't even started the process when it was already 2 weeks after my initial signing. I bet they would have never done it if I didn't nag them about it. Now I'm trying to reach them for another thing, and yet again, they are not picking up their phone! I'm furious about how hard it is for me to reach them. Do they make money by not being reachable? Oh, and did I mention about so many hidden fees everywhere? I had this storage unit for 7 years and was pleased to find how clean the storage unit was after not having visited for the last few years. There was no nesting, minimal dust (tho sadly, a wee bit of water on a few items on the floor) and no infestation. Additionally, the manager, Jylan, was always kind, helpful and professional. Public Storage For the most part I was satisfied with Public Storage but something happened during my last month there that I found disturbing. They didn't have a good explanation for it and tried to shift the blame on me citing a clause in their contract. The rental started out okay with the prices seeming a little high for what I got but things were fine for the first few months. I should say that these units are not entirely weather proof as drifting snow blew into my unit on occasion. After 8 months someone at PS must have decided that this guy is a lifer and we have him where we want him. Thus came the letter that they would be raising my rental cost by $6 per month (for my own protection). You have my stuff in a box in the middle of a compound and suddenly your expenses have increased. Well it was time to go. For me it was convenient to move my stuff mid month into my new residence. I did this. While I was unpacking at the new residence, I noticed a foot missing from the metal headboard for my bed. This is an unusual headboard and I will never find a foot to replace it. I double check the moving van and there was nothing. Two days later I returned to PS but suddenly my card code didn't work at the gate. I called and someone came out to let me in. She followed me to my storage unit. I opened the door and found someone else's stuff in a unit that I basically owned for two more weeks. I was looking at someone's fishtank, couch and other furniture. I didn't see the metal foot anywhere. But at this point how could I expect to. If I had just rented a unit and found some junk in it. The first thing I would do was throw it away. The much larger issue here is, "Who said PS could take my unit?" I hadn't called them to tell them that I had moved out. They hadn't called me to ask if I had moved out. So what gave them the right to double book this unit. I was told that if I didn't keep a lock on the unit, I forfeited the unit's contents. This I was told was in the contract I signed. But here we were at my unit and there was still no lock on it. Does this mean the stuff in this unit becomes mine? Ohh no. What this suggests to me is that all it takes is a pair of bolt cutters to loose everything in your unit. Public storage gets to keep your stuff if there's no lock on it. I will never get this item for my bed back. PS got paid by two different parties for the same unit at the same time and I lost out as a result of it. They offered no refund to me for the month. read more

But they offer new customers better rate for same place. asked for a refund or new rate and they said no. Unwilling to offer me any discount to stay. The place was very clean and she walked me through the process of entering and exiting as well as assisting me in how to arrange my items to store them effectively and efficiently! We had a storage unit here for a couple of years. Had no problems, Everything stayed dry and no odd smells. Jylan (manager) was great to deal with. This location is easy to get to off 494 in Plymouth MN. The facility is clean and the site manager Jylan as well as the others that work there John and Makissh were all very helpful in getting me setup, explaining the prep of the container and answering the questions that the PODS storage company had for when the containers are delivered and transferred by ME into the new Public Storage Container. The new secure locks provided were demonstrated as well as my unique gate codes. The Serveilance cameras were also shown. Good experience so far, read more

This place is a total dump. Driving up the access, the company's lettering has fallen off of the building. I went to enter the code and the pole the pad is on is so loose, I had to reach out and hold the keypad so I wouldn't press the wrong number. The gate starts to open and it's jerking like crazy, not a good sign. Driving in I feel like I am in an obstacle course, there are so many potholes and pieces of pavement scattered throughout the facility. Not to mention the base rock/sand is all over the place too. I went to our unit (thankfully we had had enough of the extortion of raising our rates and decided to move) and opening the door, there is standing water in the unit. The door seal on the bottom was shot, allowing rainwater, insects and whatever else could crawl in there access. Some of our items had mold on them. We closed the door, still having items to come back and retrieve and the latch was stuck. Took a couple minutes to secure the door. Leaving, I decide I'll drive around and take a better look at this dump. "Secure" storage??? My a**. The fencing has been breached in numerous places. One of the gates at the back that borders on 55 is bent over and could easily allow someone access. This storage facility is beyond horrid. I have a feeling whoever owns this sits back and collects the cash, laughing all the way to the bank. read more

I was with Public Storage for 10+ years, and it was all good. Until Feb of 2016 when somehow someone broke into my unit and stole all of my stuff. My unit was indoors (not climate controlled, as this location doesn't offer that), and I had a lock on the unit that was recommended by PS (but, of course, is no longer the recommended lock - did they let me know there was a new preferred lock? Hell no). Yet, somehow somebody came into the area where my unit was and broke the lock and stole my stuff, and no one at PS even folks onsite noticed until they did one of their walkthroughs and informed me of the missing lock. I then stopped over to check things out and informed them that my stuff was missing. The unit was completely ransacked. So much for their 24 hour security. Of course, there was no video footage of anyone breaking into my unit, since they only have 3 or 4 active cameras and none of those are placed inside where the storage units are. Also, to make things super great is their stupid insurance. Whatever you do, don't buy it. It's a total waist of time unless you are meticulous and track all of your stuff (have records and receipts) for all of it. Big waste of time. Go someplace else, even a new and cheaper place would be better. read more
