Only go to this store, because they have a cut of meat that no other stores carry. I opened the package of (overpriced) meat, turned it over to season it, and it was almost entirely bone and fat. Total waste of money. They are overpriced on almost everything, and they'll still rip off their customers. IF I ever shop their again, you'd better believe I will demand that they open any package of meat I am thinking of buying and show me the other side. Pharmacy only I have recently had a total knee replacement surgery. My surgeon changed meds and while I realize I'm not the only customer, I was one in severe pain. My father went to pic up meds for 0me and the guy I talked with said 6pm on the pick up time....and cruelly he meant it. My dad watched this bald headed tech place my order on the register and it was filled but not til 6pm did this tech call my name. REALLY PUBLIX...GROW UP read more

Let me begin this review by saying that I was a Publix employee for over two years. Not being a spiteful or mean spirited individual I am stating my observations. There is a day and night difference.between the Greenville Street and Clemson Avenue.stores. Speaking specifically about the delis the cleanliness between the two is 180 degrees I would avoid Greenville Street. The inmates rule the roost and will not hesitate to berate the managers or other employees Even in front of customers. (A.previous review by a customer will attest to this since I was the individual he directed his abuse toward). I showed this to an assistant manager and was told my grievance would be addressed Wrong! Nothing was ever done I admit to snapping and saying something out of line I quickly apologized However I seemed to have hurt his delicate feelings and needless to say I was reported to management He found someone to have been a witness However no one heard the interchange I respectively resigned instead of most surely being fired Lastly having just moved here from the Midwest I must say I've never experienced racial prejudiced Until now. And certainly not homophobic. However things apply at the Publix Greenville Street deli as I have personally experienced. read more

Hands down, they have the best employees... Nice, kind, efficient, thoughtful, helpful, courteous... How do they do it???? Best produce... Fresh, great selection, helpful people here too! Best meat and fish... I often get custom cuts of beef. Got some pork for my Big Green Egg custom cut so that I could stuff it with cheese and fruit. Even tossed in the cotton twine to tie it up. Best bakery too... They have super chicken tenders that I pick up every time my wife is not able to cook dinner. Super meal at a low price. I can't say that I normally get enthused over a grocery store, yet here I am writing this! read more

This is the larger of two Publix stores in town, and both are equally awesome. The number one asset of this or any Publix is, in my opinion, CUSTOMER SERVICE. From the moment you walk in the door someone is either greeting you or asking you if they can help you or smiling at you, something. And this customer service doesn't end at the checkout because they then take your groceries out to your car for you, no tipping allowed. The prices are competitive and the selection of merchandise is good, The one thing I would like to see more of is organic - organic produce and organic canned and frozen foods.They have some organic food, but it's time to get with the times and offer more. Even Ingles has increased their line of organic offerings, as has Aldi and Wal-Mart. The meat and seafood depts both have fresh products and the meat dept is like a butcher and will cut meat, etc. For instance, they will take a whole chicken and cut it into parts for you...that sort of thing. The floral dept always has fresh flowers and arrangements to choose from. They are cheaper than a florist and they take special requests. I haven't used the pharmacy so I don't know how they fare in comparison to others, but my guess is they are as good as if not better. One cool note, you can get certain antibiotics for free at Publix pharmacies. Penicillin is one and there are others; you can call and they will tell you more. The bakery...oh, the bakery. From cookies to cakes to cannolis, there is something delectable for everyone at Publix bakeries. And on the not-so-sweet side, the bread. Publix is known for their delicious bread. My favorite is the 5-grain Italian Sourdough. Yum. The produce is fresh and presentable with a few forgivable exceptions here and there. The checkouts are almost always run by the best of the best at Publix. These are the folks who have the most interaction with you and leave the most lasting impression, with the possible exception of the person helping you out with your bags. They are consistently friendly and courteous. On Wednesday, seniors get a 5% discount off their total bill. This is a pretty sweet perk, just for being a senior. And sometimes they don't even ask - especially if you look like you are "on the borderline" - they just give you the discount. This is a good one - this location...we are lucky to have it. read more

I have been a Publix customer since 1975 when we lived in Naples, Florida. My husband transferred to Anderson, SC in 1998. When we were trying to decide on the move my thinking was.. Well there's a Publix store so the area has to be a good one. Needless to say neither Publix nor Anderson was a disappointment. We have lived here since. I have found the store willing to make changes to stay up with the changes in consumer spending. They carry high quality meats with organic products. I'm a Publix shopper through and through. read more

First I have to say that many MANY years ago (in the dark ages, when I was a teenager) I worked for Publix in South Florida. When I moved to north Georgia in 1991, there was no Publix - and no grocery store run like them. I was *thrilled* when Publix finally started coming into Georgia, and now that I live so close to Anderson, SC, glad that they are here too. The store is *always* clean. I have several grocery stores much closer to where I live, but I travel the 28 miles (one way!) to Publix for most of my grocery shopping. My main reason for shopping today was for deli lunch meat. It's always so fresh, well sliced, and nicely packaged it lasts me for the almost 2 weeks of lunches I need it for. There were 3 folks working in the deli tonight, each of them friendly and helpful. I had a large order (6 different meats/cheeses sliced different ways) but it was handled with a smile and packed very well. The meat counter is always very nicely arranged, very clean, and quite well stocked. Publix is the only place I will buy ground meat and just about the only place I get meat at all. You know how when you walk into some grocery stores they have that "smell"? Publix doesn't. Their produce, meat, dairy, and seafood departments are *always* very clean and organized. It's nice to know that the company still keeps up with the same standards that were drilled into us as teenagers so long ago. Checkout was a breeze. One cashier unloaded for me, one rang up the groceries, and one nice young man bagged things up. We live quite a ways from the store, and the weather is warm, so we put perishables in coolers when we get to the car. The bagger had my cold things all together! I know that sounds trivial - but I have been to other grocery stores where they would put meat with laundry detergent and the like - this was done *correctly*. All in all, this is my favorite grocery store to shop at. I just wish one was closer! read more

I love shopping at Publix and stopping at the deli for a sub. Unfortunately, the last 3 subs I've ordered had extremely hard/stale bread that cut the roof of my mouth upon the first bite.... The subs were my favorite part, and probably why I shop here so much, but because I'm probably going to stop getting the subs, I'll probably stop shopping here all together. read more

I lived down in Anderson, SC for two months, Publix was the place that I went to get my groceries. I had to get used to calling the carts "buggies" and I had to get used to the sweet Southern hospitality where the employees helped walk your full buggy to your car and even put your groceries in your trunk! I know what you other Northerners are thinking, "WHAT?! You mean they don't just drop their cart in an empty parking spot and drive off?"...Nope. This place felt nice, clean, and so sweet your teeth would ache! Definitely the go-to grocery store of Anderson. read more

I really like this grocery chain. Have been shopping there for many years so when I moved here from S. FL I was very pleased to find one in Anderson. I was, however, dissapointed when they did not carry one of my favorite items soooooo I sent an email. I really did not expect a responce and was happily surprised to receive first a responce and then a call from the store manager. He told me he would stock the item and it should on the shelf in about 2 weeks. If it sold fairly well he would continue to reorder it.... Overall the store is ok. The deli staff as a whole is awful. The line will be insanely long and the skinny redhead working the back of the deli will not come to help. There's a man with glasses who is always rude to customers and complaining about his other job and life to co-workers. And all the deli workers are inefficient at slicing meat. read more

Whoever is working in the deli named Tessa is slow and gives terrible service. We sat there for about 25 minutes in front of her as she continued to make the online orders that kept Printing out. Never asked once what I wanted. Don't waste your time going here for a sub, just go to Subway or where someone more efficient with a better attitude can do the job. read more

You can generally get anything you need here for average prices. They have a great deli and the best sushi ive ever had, although they tend to run out of eel, my favorite. (Restaurants included) My only complaint is not being able to tip employees when they bring your groceries to the car and pack them for you. I understand not requesting a tip, but what does it hurt Publix if i give a buck or two for good service, im not spending less there. To be fair it would probably make it harder to report taxes. read more
