Avoid this tow company! Puddle Jumper based in Eugene. They charge exorbitant fees. My mom's vehicle was towed there after an uninsured motorist hit her. A large part of the problem was on Progessive Insurance that did not attempt to pick up the vehicle for 13 days. On day 13, Puddle Jumper told Progressive the cost would be $8778.17. Progressive actually paid that but 2 hours later when Progress came to pick up the vehicle, Puddle Jumper said they could not have the vehicle unless they paid an additional $1400. Progressive said, no. Give us the vehicle for the amount we have paid or we will put a stop payment and you can keep the car. Puddle Jumper refused so Progressive did a stop payment and has totaled the car. Puddle jumper is now notifying my mom that she owes all that money and is continuing to charge storage everyday. However, the car is now in Progressive's name. They paid her a fair price for it and she signed the title over to them. I am shocked how much Puddle charges. read more

I've had to call these guys twice in the last couple of weeks, and I have nothing but good things to say about them! A couple weeks ago my husband and I were at the grocery store and the car wouldn't start. Nothing like being stranded with $300 worth of groceries in the car. They sent Marc out to try jumpstarting the car, with a tow truck coming behind him if needed. Marc tested the battery and the alternator both, finding it was the alternator causing the issues. Thankfully we don't live too far from the store, and Marc said if we don't make it home to call him and we'd do it again. Reassurance of continued help is an incredible comfort all by itself! After replacing the alternator, we've had continued issues and needed the car jumpstarted so my husband could go to work. A friend is coming by tomorrow to do some work on the car, so I just needed it to make it through the night. Marc is the one who came by again tonight, and recognized me when introducing himself. That tells me a lot about who he is, given I was only there for a few minutes the last time when he met us. He spent far more time with my husband. We chatted about the issue and what had been happening, he gave us advice on how to fix it and where to go and where not to go. Then asked us to follow up with him about replacing the battery. It was obvious he cares and really does want to make sure the problem is fixed. I don't know if the owners or other employees are like Marc and put the same level of care and attention into their business because I've never dealt with anyone else. But I certainly hope they do. If I ran a business, Marc is the kind of employee I'd want to hire. I'd also feel very comfortable calling them if I were on my own and needed help. All of that put together speaks volumes to me, and I'll be recommending this business to friends and family. These guys are great. read more

They are super nice but charge a lot. It took them "1.5 hours" for them to move my dump truck less then 10 miles. They charge by the hour, which is $290 pretty high, but they are close to our house, and we wanted to try their service. The driver was incredibly nice and understood my frustration when he said I had to pay $435 for the service, plus a 4% for using my credit card because honestly, I didn't have more than $290 that I was expecting to pay. I would recommend it if you were going to use your insurance (I should have done that). If you are looking for fair pricing tow company this is not towing company to go to. read more

We were told by an Oregon state trooper that he spoke with Puddle Jumpers and they'd be here in 25 minutes. We've now been waiting just about an hour and have spoken with them, personally, twice. They gave us another estimate about 45 minutes after waiting the "25 minutes" for another 25 minutes.. Just kind of crazy when you've crashed your car in the middle of nowhere. You think they'd be on time...or at least a little more accurate about their ETA. read more

Puddle jumper towing is hands down the most friendly, customer centric tow company I have interacted with. We had a flat tire but brought the wrong replacement size. The head guy, who may be the owner, helped us. He was welcoming and made us uncomfortable upon arrival. He ended up giving us a spare tire off his personal trailer since we were in a bind. We were on the side of highway 58 for 3-1/2 hours until they decided to call a semi wrecker. They charged us $893.75 for this... These guys are amazing. My car died way up in the mountains this August right before they closed off all access to the area due to fires. Without Puddle Jumper helping me coordinate I would never have gotten it out. They coordinated with The Forest Service and ODOT to get access to a closed highway and get my car out before a fire engulfed it. On a Thursday night, the state police called Puddle Jumper to pick up my car. The officer informed me he knew nothing about the company but it was one of the companies on his list. The guys who picked up my car were really nice and helpful, but that's where the good ends. All of Friday, my insurance company and I called the two different numbers on the card and couldn't get ahold of anyone. No answering machine, which seems horribly unprofessional. So my car was in the lot the entire weekend. Monday we were able to get a hold of them, but it took till Wednesday for my insurance to be able to get the car because of what my agent called "monstrous fees". $900 for just hooking up and $300 a day to hold on their lot (which would have only been the day if the phones hadn't 'conveniently' been off). Thank god I have full coverage insurance or I would have been in serious trouble financially. read more

Jesse agreed to help out. At 1:00 am. I finally did figure it out on my own before he got there -- and he came by anyway to check on me and offer help with finding a place to park for the night. My truck went in the ditch during a heavy snow storm in Eugene 2 years ago. All the towing companies were booked solid for many hours. Finally, I found Puddle Jumper was able to meet me close to my house and drive me to my truck that I had abandoned in the snow 15 hours earlier the same day. The guy was very professional. He was working long hours and didn't complain at all. He was very careful pulling out my truck and even though the body was damaged, I was able to drive it away. The tow charge was reasonable and covered by insurance. I give 5 stars to this guy who was a professional tow truck driver. He had all his teeth, didn't smoke, no cussing, and looked like he had shaved and showered even though he said he had been awake for almost 24 hours. read more

Made a potentially very expensive mistake last night while at the country music fest. After the last concert we walked back to our car, and it was gone! It had been towed. We had to track down someone who could tell us where it was taken and then see if we could get a ride out there on a gator or something bc the impound lot was on the opposite end of the venue. Once we got to the gate, a posted sign said $150 in cash, we didn't have that. I was just in tears and my 1month old was getting upset from being worn all night long, these guys were more than understanding saying they didn't want us to be stranded with a newborn and all that. I was involved in an accident and Puddle Jumper towing is who showed up to tow my car. The driver went above and beyond his job that day. He was polite and compassionate. He was willing to take me to where ever I wanted to go and even offered to stay with me until my husband got there. He asked me more than once if I was okay and was very calming during a very scary and stressful time. When we came the next day to clean the belongings out of my car the owner was also extremely polite and compassionate immediately asked me if I was the driver and if I was okay. Earlier this month I thought there was a problem with my car's electrical system and I thought it would have to be towed to Eugene at the end of my weekend at the Oregon Country Fair. I called Puddle Jumper in Veneta the night before I needed the tow and talked to Mickey who was so helpful and nice. We set an appointment for the following morning. He showed up on time and took a look at my car. He said I simply had a dead battery so he fixed that very quickly.
