Beautiful building, nice dome and a pretty park. The grass however could do with some love.

Overall, I would have to say that the experiences have been very very poor. It seems like very few people had any understanding of what they were doing. First, the day of my small claims case, though I came down and observed the regular magistrate a dozen times in the previous weeks, I had the unfortunate luck of a substitute magistrate. She was in such a hurry to get to other cases done that she came across as scatterbrained and was not focusing on my case when we were in front of her. I clearly explained what I was trying to achieve in a holding a second defendant accountable if the first one did not pay me back. I explained this to her numerous times because she didn't seem to understand. She was so unfocused that she did not clearly instruct me/us that both defendants needed to sign the stipulation in order for me to achieve my goal of holding them both accountable. If it had been the primary magistrate, she probably would have found against the defendants simply because one showed up 30 minutes late and the other one was over an hour late making a circus out of the entire thing from the beginning until the end. We were in the process of finalizing everything when the second defendant came in the door. What we had talked about was that it would be a default judgment against the second defendant if he did not show up. ALL she needed to tell me was that he needed to sign the form as well as the primary defendant. It was a total cluster. In the courthouse both defendants agreed to be responsible. This means we sign a stipulation and they have 30 days to pay me. The second defendant, that was over an hour late, verbally agreed to be responsible if the first defendant did not pay me, but no one ever mentioned that both defendants needed to sign the stipulation. The judge handed us over to the clerk and was no longer paying attention to help verify the things were done correctly. Since I have never been in a court room, and this is small claims court, a person needs a judge that's paying attention. Because the "fill in" magistrate did not do a thorough job, I, the plaintiff, got screwed out of $7500, $8200 If you include all the fees including serving the defendants and the total amount that this guy really owed me. Next, in dealing with the clerks office for many things including filing motions, figuring out how to properly fill out the paperwork, and trying to get an interrogatory sent, out of ALL my visits I think I had two people who were knowledgeable and seem to know what they were doing and 9 or 10 who had no clue and either gave me such general information it was useless, or flat out wrong information. Up to two stars for the couple clerks that did answer questions correctly and knew their jobs. Overall, my advice is that if you have to use the criminal justice system here in Colorado Springs, it is not helpful for small claims plaintiffs looking for assistance on things as simple as how to fill out more than two defendants on a form, much less anything more complicated. I suggest it's worth the extra effort to try to find a lawyer to help you maneuver your way through the system, even if it is a small claims case. The whole thing was a joke and the crook, who has now stolen over $38,000 between four people, and seemed to know how to manipulate the system, wins.

I wish perhaps I could give 2 stars. This is supposed to be the people who uphold our rights. This…read morecourthouse is filled with criminals sentencing other criminals. There is no justice in this courthouse. Appeals Court is not shaping up to have any better outcome. How is it when a fire happens in your building, you get displaced, had previously fought over 18 months of black widow infestations (lethal to myself if bitten), rats, roaches, and termites. Assaults on my guests, negligent management that let a fire happen which the fire extinguisher on that floor would fatefully be found empty costing the lives of the tenant in 206, throw out a case that was served via the Sheriffs Office but not throw out the initial FED (later dismissed) after six months of battling an improperly served FED case that was filed 4 days after the fire.... yet throw out my lawsuit for things I never failed to do? Where is the Justice? No.. Really.. Where is it? This is not even half of the wrong I've suffered. Pro se against 5 attorneys from two law firms one deals with Government. The other in property. Same day dismissal. Then I received an email from the insurance provider to submit my claim when I tried I get told that the insurance company owner is (someone I didn't know) under their protection and to not reach out to their client... you know the one that reached out to me and was responsible for releasing my claim stipulated in their own contract and lease agreement addendum. I can't even imagine not holding managers at an LLC responsible for their actions under a corporate umbrella while being allowed to use an individual of an insurance company as the reason someone can't use a company for the very resource it was commissioned to provide. This makes no sense. If everyone in this town voted in new leadership (which it terribly needs) then these things would not continue happening. I can only prove the things stated above, but if I could prove what I'm about to say.... I would go as far as saying the company in charge of the insurance payouts and the companies that run the complexes seem to get an awful big payout for a fire, and these courthouses sure do benefit from favoring the lawyers they have to see everyday than they do with favoring the individual representing themselves. You know..... the Citizens. I would say that, but I can't prove that. Nobody is willing to put their bank statements into public view. So I can't say that, which is why I'm not saying that. I'm more or less saying it is just my personal belief. Kind of a religion really. Like how I religiously believe the State Representatives and Judicial Officers religiously and with diligence in their belief; know in order to uphold the law would make us live longer, and happier lives. They can't have that. So I'm going to start up a Non-Profit. Its aim is to educate children, stomp out child exploitation in all forms, and battle these injustices set on the shoulders of every citizen impacted by this favoritism that would support any oligarchy based system over its own citizenry. If any of you have been drone wrong by this courthouse... Google the address to send mail to write the Office of Attorney Regulations, and the Attorney General's Office, write these people, and then write the Mayor, Senators, Governors of this State. We will all hold them accountable for their actions. It starts with every single one of us. In order for these people to do their job. Amen.

I worked with Mr. Tameler for 10 months from that first appointment until the ending of my case. I spent a great deal of time working with him by phone, in person appointments, and emails regarding legal matters. Mr. Karl Tameler is highly professional and dedicated to his cases. He has several cases, some which over lap and require his attention to be given as needed, but he always returned my calls or emails with reasonable expectations. Mr. Tameler has a strong and solid understanding of law and a good reputation with staff in the court system in Pueblo County. He is also very fair in his pricing. I was given a flat fee, but felt that the time it took for my case due to Covid shut down of the Court House and the back log that followed as cases fell behind, he could have asked for more. I am not familar with criminal cases and was completely unprepared for when one arrises, but Mr. Tameler was very good at explaining to me each stage of the case. I highly recommend Mr. Tameler if you want a compentent and experienced criminal lawyer.

Karl requested a flat fee payment and explained that the he could help resolve the matter relating to cracking the plastic on someones taillight in a carls jr parking lot - he said that the offer was unfair and that he could get a better one that didn't involve 24 hours community service - On the day of the trail he arrived 3 minutes prior leaving no time to review the case -he was unfamiliar with the case(all case information had been forwarded/provided) and apparently had not contacted the DA yet to negotiate any offer. He relied on my old copy of the original offer i brought to court and had me sign that and admit to guilt even though in his office he said it shouldn't go this way.Bottom line He will tell you what you want to here for money. I will never trust this man again - could not keep his word.
