We sat upstairs in the window area with a nice view of the park below. We asked our server for a wine recommendation and he came back with a Malbec that was heavenly. Literally the best bottle I've ever had-- and it was 110 pesos (~$8). For dinner, we split two dishes: one was a beef filet wrapped in bacon ("Lomo") the other a homemade pasta dish ("Agnolote"). The menu is limited: empanadas, humitas and tamales. However, they offer a dozen different types of empanadas. Intriguing concoctions like "Greek" and "Pumpkin" empanadas were listed alongside traditional favorites. My boyfriend decided we needed to try all of them! I ordered a humita just to mix it up, and I was not disappointed. I especially appreciated the clumps of fresh goat cheese hiding in the corn meal. The empanadas are solid. I didn't particularly care for some of the more exotic ones, but my boyfriend said that the Salteño was "the best he's ever eaten". Side note: He did have some major gas for the rest of the evening. Not necessarily a deterrent for him, but I made sure we stayed away for the next few days!
