Every piece of information I received stated 12pm, there no mention of any other time so when I arrived at the bus stop at the stated time and no bus appeared I was worried so I phoned the company and was alerted that dive time was 12 but pick up time was 10am but nowhere did it say 10am so I think it needs to be clear what time pick up time is , fortunately they managed to get me on the next bus and we were on our way. The submarine experience was fantastic, photos were taken on the submarine to be purchased afterwards as well as a certificate, which I think needs to have the bookers name on as well as one with your partners name on it and not two with the bookers name. We climbed down into the submarine (best to wear shorts and not a dress or skirt) which was amazing and sat on little stools looking out at fish swimming by then watched a little screen of the submarine submerging under the sea at upto 30m and seeing shipwrecks lay on the ocean floor, it was such a fascinating and memorable experience and I would highly recommend when in Lanzarote.

Timanfaya National Park is one if the most breath taking and must see sites on the island. Located…read moreon the site of the 1730 and 1736 eruptions, you will get to see first hand the amazing and destructive power of volcanos. The €8 ticket price includes a guided bus tour around the park with audio commentary in Spanish, English and German. And a chance to witness the volcanos continuing activity with a mini geyser which shoots steam up to 12-15 feet into the air and hole in the ground that instantly burns tumbleweed due to the 400-600°C still emitted a few meters underground. There is also a cafe and restaurant on site which uses a kind of well which at the bottom has a almost molten ball of rock. They harness the tremendous heat given off by this to cook meals that are available in the restaurant. I recommend visiting this site as soon as it opens (10am), to avoid the long queues that develop during the day. To see all that Timanfaya has to offer will take around 2-3 hours so I recommended going to the Centro de Visitantes e Interpretacion which is about 3km north on the LZ-67, entry is free and gives you more information about the formation of the island and ecology of the national park.

A bit of a gimmick, but it was a lot cheaper than we thought it would be. 12 EUR for the two of us. The guy leading the line of camels you are on will take photos of you and your camel with your camera, if you want. Which is nice. The whole camel walk lasts about 15 mins, if even that. Now to the parque itself. We turned in, paid our 16 EUR and then waited patiently in a queue of cars. We could see glimpses of cars tootling along roads higher up and further away. The anticipation was building. After about a 30 mins we were allowed up to the car park. Here we were met by a nice official who showed us where to park and informed us of the free bus tours that took you further around the parque. As with all the government run the main tourist attractions, its all very well organised and run. We queued for a while for the bus tour, but gave up after ten mins and opt to go for some lunch instead. Lunch was nice. Again the novelty of having your food cooked on a volcano, but it was actually quite good. Not a complete tourist trap. I had the goats cheese, which was nothing like the goats cheese I am used to at home. A bit disappointing, I ate as much as I could. Outside the restaurant there are more tricks on show: the burning of the straw in the volcano and the feeding of water to the volcano. All interesting and good fun. Excellent for kids to see. There was lots of whoops and shrieks for the water trick. We tried again to queue for a bus tour, but it just didn't appeal to us. So we left for the day. Well worth a look. Get there early, when the gates open. Otherwise you will have to wait in a queue of colourful hire cars to get to the car park inside.

Cesar Manrique designed this attraction using the surrounding elements as he did with so many things on the island. At first you may not see anything in this pool of water inside the volcanic tunnel, but just look very closely and you will see a TON of mini, albino crabs. Very peaceful to just sit and watch. Be sure to keep walking and you will find a hidden oasis! There are a few nice cave bars inside where you can grab a drink. There's also an interactive museum and an impressive cave theatre with mirrors on one side. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore! This place was a lot larger than 1st expected.

Then you get to the cave, which is filled with crystal clear water and tiny blind white crabs. Again, for me, this wasn't 'wow' worthy and the small pieces of trash and coins in the water distracted from any sense of beauty. Nothing says amazing lagoon like a Trident wrapper floating along the surface of the water. Moving on, the next 'sight' was the blue pool and oh, was it just that, a pool. People were taking pics of a pool where the water was just as clear as the local ocean or your own backyard swimming hole. Weird. The volcano museum was up next and was equally as lame as the pool. This place hasn't been updated since the 70's. I felt like I was in the Flinstone house with some outdated volcano pictures on the wall. Overall, as a 'cave bar' and concert hall it's a probably a 4-5 star establishment. Take a look at the concert venue pic, very cool and unique. Having a few drinks in a cave, also cool. But as a landmark (that someone drove 45-min to get to), it's not great.

If you are flying in -- hey, welcome to Lanzarote! You've arrived!…read more This airport is small, clean, well organized and quite easy. LEAVING: If you are flying out -- hey, later Lanzarote! You're leaving! (sad) The departures flow is just fine (except RyanAir can't manage ques ever, in any airport!) -- particularly if you are flying with children, you'll be expedited to the family security line. They have something installed that is BRILLIANT -- it's like a little holding pen (that looks like a play area) both at the point where you need to get all your things together and on to the belt and then after when you need to reassemble and get everything back together. GENIUS. I was able to pop my 2 year old into this little play fence (it's very secure) for the 30 seconds it takes to do both sides of the security dance -- and he was mystified by it enough to not care he was actually trapped, and also secure enough that he wasn't trying to put himself on to the conveyer belt. SO SMART. I wish every airport had these in the family line! Probably saves them a lot of headaches too! Also, all the staff was very nice. I guess if you live in the Canaries you are just more cheerful in general, but they were really swell -- even at Security! There is a decent selection of food options (mostly the fast food type variety) and about 12 gates, so not overwhelming. There is a little children's play area in the median just outside the food court near gates 1-2, which was good to burn a little energy before boarding our 4 hour flight back to London. All in all -- very nice experience for an airport, I hope to return someday to lovely Lanzarote and this portal to get you in and out surely does not disappoint!

This irked me a bit, waiting for a large group for the tour to start. We then ended up at the end of group as everyone who spoke Spanish was let on ahead while the English spiel was given. Oh well. Apart from that the tour was excellent. The cave system very impressive. The guide was a nice lady with good English and German, so most visitors were catered for. Worth a look. PS if you travel further up the road towards Orzola, on the right there will be a scattering of lovely beaches. There is parking here too, so pack your trunks too if you make the drive up to La Cueva de los Verdes.

You can see Playa Blanca and Fuerteventura. Playa Papagayo was just a short drive away and that's where we went every day, amenities of Playa Blanca and Marina Rubicon (supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, banks, etc) is 5 min drive away. Silvana and Stefano were very hospitable and when we come back to Lanzarote we will definitely return to Casa Rural Los Ajaches!

If you walk a few meters from the entrance to the beach, there is always enough free space and you are undisturbed. The sand is very fine and a mixture of black and white sand. If you go into the water it takes a while until it is really deep. So it's ideal for children.
